Kate took the military theme a bit literally this morning did she not? She looked as if she was about to whip out her trombone and run away with the Salvation Army.

Meghan was clearly bewildered by the whole thing. I wonder if she's thinking 'what the actual fuck have I done with my life??'

Kate is 5 ft 10? I had no idea she was so tall.

I get the feeling Kate and Camilla have a genuine bond, and spend a lot of time exchanging Are You Thinking What I'm Thinking Glances

I'd imagine that, when in company but at ease, they'd slyly What's App each other from the same room with sarcastic commentary, short messages like

DREADFUL

LORD SPARE US

OH HERE WE GO AGAIN

I’ve been following these threads but this is the first I’ve posted here.
On the subject of make up Kate has definitely toned down the black eye liner all round her eyes, which is definitely a good thing, but I came across this one of Meghan from last night, I think she maybe needs to tone down the bronzer and highlighter and up the blending?

Feeling very sympathetic towards Meghan at the moment- I have a similar short waist (although she is about three sizes smaller than me) and it’s an absolute nightmare to dress in the second trimester before a proper bump appears.

I tended to wear tighter tops that accentuated my rounder belly to make it more obvious that I’m pregnant and not just a human rectangle. She obviously doesn’t have that option as it’s just not appropriate for formal wear.

Agree that Kate looks tired but is developing some natural gravitas. Meghan is doing her best but still playing a role.

Dressing for formal occasions when you are pregnant is a total mine field even without the eyes of the world on you!

Camilla and Kate presumably bond over a sneaky fag behind the kennel block.

I like that when Princess Anne is in military uniform, as she was this morning, she always wears trousers.

I think that Kate will do queening better than Wills will do kinging. She seems to have more gravitas than he does when it's necessary.

PawneeParksDept that's what I got from that photo it's the standard family look at weddings/events when your all thinking the same thing. If rumours are to be believed in this case it may have been a joint craving for a fag

I agree Meghans make up may look fresher than Kate's but she is very heavy on the highlighter.

Anyone else notice this is the second time in a week that DoC has reworn an older item of clothing (the green coat- she’s worn it to at least 2 St Patrick’s day services)?

I have a degree of sympathy for Meghan. I know she’s not a shy teenager like Diana was, and has experience with the media, but she has hit the ground running since her own wedding, with all the big royal summer events, another Royal Weddding, the tour and Remembrance weekend, hot on the heels of each other, amd whilst in early pregnancy. I don’t envy her a bit!

Stupid question I'm sure, but how does Anne qualify to wear military uniform? Did she ever spend any time in the services? Indeed, did Charles? Andrew's military career is well-known and even Edward spent some time in the marines.

Kate has always been a fan of recycling but I think it shows an awareness coming off the back of the royal tour when there was a fair amount of criticism of the amount spent on Meghans wardrobe.

I agree Kate is coming in to her own now which is lovely but I think comparison to Meghan is a bit unfair when we are talking 7 years vs 7 months (roughly)

Anne has never served but is an honorary admiral IIRC.

It was more than 7 years. Kate’s been prepping to be queen since she was at uni.

How cool is this picture of CP Mary, when she was pregnant with her twins? It appeared in German Vogue.

Meghan should embrace the pregnancy thing.
If she wore an empire line or a trapeze shape; she could wear a dress which stopped above her knees and showed her legs a bit.

Or she could wear them shorter as tops hiding and elastic waist on a pencil skirt.

I also think a fitted stretch top showing a bit of bump with a flared or Sunray pleated midi skirt and a tailored jacket would look cute.

According to Wikipedia Charles served both in the navy and RAF between 1971-77, Anne didn’t serve but is an honorary rear admiral which allows her to wear military trousers - I’d she didn’t qualify to wear them and wants to, it wouldn’t be me telling her she couldn’t !

@itswinetime I think you’re spot on there- it’s interesting to see she (or her PA/ stylist) has been savvy enough to think of the optics of DoC rewearing a British designer when there’s been some criticism of DoS’s choices.

I just wish someone would whisper in Meghan’s ear “Maybe next time for the Givenchy... what about this lovely Stella number?”

Charles has served in the military I belive he has been in the army and the navy although never saw active service.

Anne is a is a Royal colonel of the Household Division, which I belive is why she is entitled to wear uniform. I think it's also why Edward road horseback atvthe trooping if the colour thus year for the first time having taken over the DoEs when he retired.

Cherries101 very true I was just going on time married but indeed she's had a lot more time if you included time dating/courting ect it's to be expected Kate is more polished with things like this.
