Couldn't sleep as DS woke me up at 3am so downloaded ma'am darling as recommended on this thread and got a bit of a shock when I read that Princess Margaret married Picasso. As in Pablo Picasso! Utterly random. She also lost an earring shagging him in the Tate Modern. Good grief 😀.

VanillaSugary · 07/11/2018 06:51

How random @TipseyTorvey

Here is an Instagram link to Kate's earring and necklace pairings. Apparently she owns these herself as they were gifts. puts these on my Christmas list to Santa

New thread and you are already six pages in! Thank you for starting a new one, lots to catch up on already!

Clionba · 07/11/2018 07:03

@VanillaSugary - not at the time! It was in a big field. Us kids has a great time running around, pulling out haystacks. I don't think it was found.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 07/11/2018 07:25

@VanillaSugary

I didn’t realise Kate had so much personal jewellery.
I think William buys her a lot of Jewellery.

I love that Kate Middleton Instagram feed. I could get lost in it!

Clionba · 07/11/2018 07:40

Kate also gets gifts from various friends of the family - isn't there a diamond parure from one of the Emirates Princes? Also a set of jewels from the Sultan of Brunei (I got this info from the Jewel Vault which I can recommend!). They do receive generous gifts.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 07/11/2018 07:46

I think it was me who posted Royal wedding dresses through the ages. I’ve trawled through a couple of the previous threads ( was quite fun revisiting the Eugenie wedding thread, a few of us were commenting on how pregnant Meghan looked).

Anyway, here are a few other wedding dress links Historical dresses in Vogue

Marie-Claire dresses of last 70 years

Vogue again

Bride’s Magazine

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 07/11/2018 07:52

@Clionba

Thanks for the heads up on the Jewel vault

Spotted Camilla in some fab earrings & pendant and I like the look of the top she is wearing in Ghana

I suspect these threads will start bringing jewellery back in fashion amongst mumsnetters!

Is it just me that clicks on these threads first thing? Grin

Thank you Queen! I have RA & these threads are my saviour in the mornings to help me get going.

Pupsiecola · 07/11/2018 08:13

Thanks Curly. Yes I back-trawled too but couldn't find it again.

owlshooting · 07/11/2018 08:44

Absolutely love this thread . That clip of Camilla dancing is priceless! Must set aside enough time to read all of this new thread throughly! Such a wonderful relief from all the bad news.

IdaBWells · 07/11/2018 08:45

Does anyone want to make some educated guesses on the kind of outfits Meg might wear as she progresses in her pregnancy? Do you think she might go a leggings and tunic route as she still has her twiggy pins?

owlshooting · 07/11/2018 08:50

Btw I think Diana was streets ahead of her sisters in terms of looks. They are pleasant looking women, but she was a real beauty. I watched Diana in Her Own Words last night on Netflix - very sad. I have mixed feelings about Camilla. She hasn't put a foot wrong since Diana died, and they are obviously very happy, but the pain she caused Diana is hard to forgive. Agree that she bolsters and flatters him, and he needs a mother figure. However, it's hard to forget the past. I love her clothes , she knows exactly what suits her and never gets it wrong.

AhoyDelBoy · 07/11/2018 08:52

That particular feed I’ve linked too is amazing isn’t it Curly. The girl who runs is (Katie from NZ according to the bio) obviously puts a lot of time and effort into it. I follow so many but need to have a cull as I can’t stand the pictures where they photoshop Diana in looking over Kate’s shoulder for example.

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 07/11/2018 08:54

Found you!

IPromiseIWontBeNaughty · 07/11/2018 08:56

To me it wasn’t just Camilla that’s to blame. Diana knew about her before she married Charles. Diana’s family all knew about Camilla & told her the wedding had to go ahead. Diana’s grandmother apologised to either the Queen or QM for not telling them before the wedding that Diana had issues.

Charles had to marry an upper class virgin. I doubt there were that many of them about that would have been around his age.

It was a whole load of people to blame for the failure of the marriage.

Anyway which PofW hasn’t had a mistress? Not that I’m saying that’s right obviously! But I should imagine that would have been lots of people’s view.

owlshooting · 07/11/2018 08:58

Well, yes Promise. Actually the person who is most to blame was Charles himself.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 07/11/2018 09:01

Ooh interesting question @Ida

I think fitted trousers and tunic or Goat dress.

I have pointed out Seraphine which Kate wore a lot of.
There is also Isabella Oliver which is plainer and therefore more Meghan friendly. High street Maternity wear would be a big PR plus.

In private I’m sure she will do leggings and slouchy jumpers. All the trendy mamas would be doing bodycon dresses, slouch boots and biker jackets, but I’m not sure HM would approve.

Meghan also likes to show her eco credentials with her wardrobe.
I’ve found this Ethical maternity brand

It supports people in Fiji, which would support meghan’s Recent visit.

QueenOfTheAndals · 07/11/2018 09:06

@Pupsiecola The cartoon images? That was me but I can't find it again! It's on the last thread though, towards the end.

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 07/11/2018 09:07

Good morning. So far into the new thread already!

Paradyning · 07/11/2018 09:12

I think megs will definitely be in black maternity cigarette trousers and lovely wrap blouses. Isabella Oliver more than Seraphine.

QueenOfTheAndals · 07/11/2018 09:13

Aha found it @Pupsiecola!

OP posts:
QueenOfTheAndals · 07/11/2018 09:15

I remember going into Seraphine when I was pregnant but the styles weren't really me. Very Kate but I found it a bit fussy. Isabella Oliver is definitely more Meghan. Also more me but at the time I couldn't afford it!

OP posts:
QueenOfTheAndals · 07/11/2018 09:19

I’m not sure HM would approve.

I don't know @CurlyWurlyTwirly, she's worn some daring (for the era) fashions and décolleté gowns in her time and didn't seem to have a problem with Anne's minis in the 1960s. At 92, she's seen it all style-wise!

Bloominglovely · 07/11/2018 09:45

Queen your red coat sounds lovely. Where did you get it? Can you link it please?

I suppose they have numerous style changes as it shows they are making an effort for every individual event/meeting. Otherwise they might as well wear office clothes and arrive with a briefcase containing their speeches. It must be weird to effectively be puppet like - dress up, show up, do what is required, read other people’s words. They are well paid for it but seeing rich friends do what they like when they like must result in resentment from them too.
