Hmm Rania is looking more normal again. Perhaps that's as the fillers get absorbed and start to look more natural?

Because who doesn’t love cake! Royal Wedding Cakes just a little something different for your evening.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 06/11/2018 22:33

I am still watching the Atlanta Interview.

Just Flipped over to the she did when she had only been here 3 months. (Meghan speaks at about 12 minutes).

Meghan has had to dial down her natural capability and American style.
She has changed again in the last only 8 or 9 months. There; she looked exhausted.

Having heard her speak about her charity experiences in the Atlanta interview, you can see how motivated she is to go to the UN, to tackle period poverty in India. I am seriously impressed by her.

She has a bigger stage ( the whole world) as a Royal. But her voice has got smaller, as in terms of protocol, she is lower down the pecking order. However; if anyone can effect change from the inside; it’s got to be Meghan. She is highly intelligent and incredibly capable. Much as I love Harry, she is his intellectual superior.

Paradyning · 06/11/2018 22:33

Loving Rania's triple strap shoes!

IdaBWells · 06/11/2018 22:37

I’m sure she is so self-conscious now that she is not overshadowing Harry or other members of the RF in terms of media attention, I do feel she is “playing the part” somewhat at the moment and it will take a while to find herself in her new role. She was able to be completely free and independent before, while now she knows everything is dissected and reflects back on the RF.

PeekaPeeka · 06/11/2018 22:37

Yes, queen, i agree - I saw those photos of Rania the other day and thought how much better her face looked in them.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 06/11/2018 22:37

I am loving Everyone’s contributions to the thread. It is like an up to the minute smorgasbord of Royalty. Thanks everyone!

QueenOfTheAndals · 06/11/2018 22:38

Oh I agree @CurlyWurlyTwirly, Harry is no intellectual but I think he has his mother's emotional intelligence, if that makes sense? He seems to connect with people well and has a real passion for Invictus and Sentebele.

@AhoyDelBoy The lemon and elderflower cake sounds divine? As did Eugenie's red velvet one.

Meghan has had to dial down her natural capability and American style.

That is my take on it too. Speaking as an American who has lived in the UK, I can vouch for the fact that you are very much aware of how your perhaps a bit more forthright American style of interacting can be different and a bit off-putting and so might modulate accordingly.

IPromiseIWontBeNaughty · 06/11/2018 22:47

Going back a couple of pages re Edward & Sophie living together before getting wed was the main reason I thought at the time that Edward wasn’t gay. Otherwise they’d have just got wed if it had been a bearding arrangement IYSWIM

AhoyDelBoy · 06/11/2018 22:49

Yes Queen I would love to try lemon and elderflower cake, sounds delicious Cake

IdaBWells · 06/11/2018 22:50

I guess what happened from the 60s onwards but really took off with Diana was the royals becoming celebrities. With Diana it was the perfect storm though, as I just don’t think any of us when we first saw her in her Sloaney outfits as a teenager expected her to metamorphosize into this incredibly photogenic media star.

I doubt if Charles had married Diana’s elder sister we would’ve had the same interest. Diana had a unique quality.

I think now the RF are trying to dial down the celebrity aspect to prevent over exposure and scandal.

Ahoy, could you repost the link about the tiaras pretty please? Or just let me know which thread it was in?

AhoyDelBoy · 06/11/2018 23:03

drool worthy jewels @Lugilo

Luglio · 06/11/2018 23:07

Thank you so much! Looks like I'll be having a late night...

Pupsiecola · 06/11/2018 23:25

I've just followed that IG account. Fascinating to see how even the style of wedding cakes have changed so much over the years.

Pupsiecola · 06/11/2018 23:33

Someone posted a brilliant picture of all the wedding dressing in recent history. Where was that from please?

7salmonswimming · 07/11/2018 01:31

Just going back about 3 threads Blush I think I may be the only female reader of these threads to buy something off of Harry’s advertising rather than Meghan’s! The Oura ring, if anyone’s interested Grin Should be arriving any day now, sooooo excited!

AhoyDelBoy · 07/11/2018 05:15

I think that was instagram too Pupsiecola shared by Queen or Curly?

TipseyTorvey · 07/11/2018 05:21

Thanks for that IG link ahoy. I would be terrified wearing some of those earrings though because I am incapable of not losing my earrings regularly. As mine are usually ten pound jobbies from Essentials that's not such a problem but dropping a 10k pearl one - ouch. I wonder if they have some kind of magical clip to hold them fast? Or does the lady in waiting have to spot check the jewellery every ten minutes.

Clionba · 07/11/2018 06:01

When I was a child we used to go on holiday to Norfolk. There was a summer fayre we visited, opened by the Queen Mother, who then visited all the stalls. She lost a brooch and we were all asked to look for it. Us children all got very excited looking in the grass and hay for a diamond brooch!!

Clionba · 07/11/2018 06:02

(The fayre was near Sandringham)

Quantumblue · 07/11/2018 06:26

Quick placemark till I can get away from work.

VanillaSugary · 07/11/2018 06:34

Did anyone find the brooch @Clionba ?
