Plus Prince Charles turns 70 on the 14th but we may not get photos of the event as he's having a private party.

Was browsing for Letizia in a mantilla, then came across her in a couple of hairstyles I hadn’t seen before. Sharp bob and a bouffant updo.

I know a part of the Mitford family. Also have very vey tenuous links to the royal family as in I have friends who know them.

The Mitfords I personally know, they are incredibly normal. Well “normal” in my world.

Who are "The Mitfords" now other than the Cavendishes?

What Jackie wore in that shot @CurlyWurlyTwirly is totally what Meghan would wear if she were to ever meet the Pope!

Just watched the PoW documentary. I think he does come across as very natural with people, intelligent and humourous.

I did feel that he tried to distance himself from Camilla on a couple of occasions though. Most obviously when she made a remark about his first Jack Russell. He turned his back to her and walked away and I wondered what period she was referring to: it felt like he was a bit mortified that she'd brought it up?

I read somewhere that the JR was there when he and Diana divorced. Perhaps he didn't want her referencing the dog as it showed she was around at the time. He did seem uncomfortable with the reference.

Letizia looked amazing with that bob, it looked so fresh on her. The bouffant is a bit ageing though.

Wasn't that Jack Russell involved in the rather tragic loss-of-dog-at-Balmoral incident? It was all over the Scottish papers at one time.

Ah! I've just Googled and the lost dog was the offspring of the first Jack Russell, if the Telegraph is to be believed:

Nancy Mitford's husband was my BIL's great uncle. Have had a few interesting chats about them with him.

So both the models Stella Tennant and Lulu Guinness are Mitford grandchildren

Nancy, Unity and Pamela had no children so the descendants are

The Guinness and Mosley brothers
The Cavendish family
Constanzia Romilly and Ben Truehaft

The latter two grew up in the US, Ben has some MH issues I believe and was once discovered sleeping rough somewhere and it made the papers due to his mother and the fact he's the Duke Of Devonshire's first cousin

@Queen I agree; I’ve always thought Jackie Kennedy’s pared down style would suit Meghan and also be formal enough for a Duchess

Debo & Diana Mitford we’re particularly beautiful. Not surprising their grand daughters became models

@CurlyWurlyTwirly Jackie's red wool suit she wore on the White House tour is one of my all-time favourites!

Diana Mitford was gorgeous. Awful woman with appalling views, but beautiful to look at.

Of all their autobiographies Diana's is the most insane. The utter lack of insight is astounding.

I still think the best book to get going on them with is Letters Between Six Sisters, the hardback is BIG but available on Kindle

I had lunch at the house of bruar last week. Lovely walks up to the falls behind. Dh bought a very smart over coat there once too. I've never seen anything I could wear or indeed afford.

It's actually Jasmine Guinness not Lulu who is Diana's granddaughter, Lulu married in. If your link is the Heskeths they are Diana's descendants.

If it was the Mosleys you'd know as only Max has children so they'd have the Mosley name

That red bouclé suit was gorgeous & Nathalie Portman was amazing as Jackie. I love the colours and the wool dresses Jackie wore.

I think Kate should wear more boucle. She is so slim, a d in the limited Chanel I have seen her in, that style really suits her

No. I might need to ask my parents. We’ve known them for years, but I hadn’t realised they were “the” Mitfords. Silly really.

Oh ok, likely to be more distant then as Tom Mitford had no children, making them the descendants of one of David Freeman-Mitfords brothers of which there were a few.
