Sadly the Dior exhibition ended in January.
It was at the Musée des Arts Decoratifs next to the Louvre.
I must Google and see what is currently on or upcoming.

BlingLoving · 08/11/2018 10:53

Blimey, I disappear for two days and missed a lot!

I couldn't click on links when I googled jecca craig baby. I am going to maintain my innocence and tell myself it's unlikely. They do love to assume a child is someone else's. All those years of the rumours about Harry but you just have to look at picture of philip as a young man and you realise he is very clearly related!

I also genuinely believe William and Kate are a proper, in love couple. But I suspect the delay, while partly because William wanted to be sure etc etc, was him being a bit of a dick and a bloke : "what if I can find something better? What if this isn't right? What if I land up like my parents?" etc. When they got back together, Kate seemed a lot more in control and I like to think that once he worked out he was being a prat and that she WAS the one for him, that she made him work for it. He certainly deserved it as her life was completely controlled by her relationship with him, even when it was technically over because everything she did was so massively scrutinised.

YSL exhibition in Paris till January 2019

Goodness it's just penetrating my consciouness that Prince Charles is only 70. He looks so much closer to mid 80's .

Those of you who have seen him in RL - does he look younger ?

QueenOfTheAndals · 08/11/2018 11:39

He now looks roughly the same age as his mother, doesn't he? Given the Windsor longevity, I think we're looking at OAP kings for at least the next 100 years.

peridito · 08/11/2018 11:43

Although seriously ,he doesn't look as healthy as his mother did when she was 70 .

And it makes me wonder just how long lived he'll be .

AhoyDelBoy · 08/11/2018 11:45

Poor Charlie boy is definitely NOT aging well at all! He does look 80+ IMO. Crazy to think that, probably within the next two decades, William will be on the throne.

AhoyDelBoy · 08/11/2018 11:47

Well unless Charles gets to HMQ’s age now it will be with the next twenty years.

TipseyTorvey · 08/11/2018 11:49

I think the royals are a good longitudinal study in how humans age if they are minted and don't have the normal stresses of a daily commute to a job with a demanding boss and kids that keep you up all night etc. Charles looks quite sprightly to me, my FIL is ex-army so keeps self fit and looks similar age whereas my MIL looks much older probably because she had to do most of the childcare housework.

QueenOfTheAndals · 08/11/2018 11:53

Anne is in good nick for 67 and I guess Andrew and Edward don't look too bad - it's just Charles who suddenly seems to have aged. Here's HM at 70 - looks like a movie star, doesn't she?? Wink

Randomly found of Diana giving a speech on addiction when she was about 28. She sounds a lot like the Queen at that age - ridiculously upper-class! I don't think even William or Harry sound as posh as that, and Kate's accent is completely different too.

My partner is 70 and I'm 69 and truly we don't look nearly as aged as Charles .
I mean I guess Charles' conservative clothing might add to the look but
"quite sprightly" ! Isn't that something you say about ppl in their 80's ?

A 70 year old should be fit and agile surely ?

QueenOfTheAndals · 08/11/2018 12:09

True, my dad is 70 next year and looks nowhere near as old as Charles. In fact he regular gets mistaken for 10 years younger!

I was going to say, she really looks like a Helen Mirren there! !

I think Hollywood is a good example of how you can look very youthful. Here is Linda Gray from Dallas aged 70.

Harrison Ford

Charles’ style is just so old fashioned. He models himself on the last Prince of Wales

I think I mentioned in one of the earlier threads that I met Charles years ago at a party when I was a student in the UK, as was he also at the time. So I love the reference to "only 70." Smile

AhoyDelBoy · 08/11/2018 12:20

I really don’t consider 70 to be that old but Charles definitely does look old for someone whose had such a privileged life (I’ve just realised while typing this my DF would be 70 in January if he was still alive and I’m just a few months younger than Harry Grin).

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 08/11/2018 12:22

@SenecaFalls
I must have missed that titbit of information.
What was Charles like?

QueenOfTheAndals · 08/11/2018 12:22

And let's not forget our other queen, who is 85 and looks fantastic!

Just watched a bit of that clip of Diana @Queen.
Despite the 80s hair and shoulder pads, she really was young.
As a comparison here is Lady Kitty Spencer at the same age.

Gorgeous young woman but a pretty non taxing career as a model

Curly It was a shortish conversation, but he was warm and pleasant and easy to talk to. He noted that I am American and asked what I was studying (history) and talked about wanting to visit the States. I said "Well, I'm sure you will." And he laughed and said, "yes, no doubt." I do remember thinking at the time that he seemed older than his years, but at that time, in a good way.

VanillaSugary · 08/11/2018 13:10

Is that senecafalls dropping Cambridge into the conversation? 😉

A friend of mine was at uni at the same time as Prince Edward. She was reading a notice board when a man in a suit and tie stood next to her. She gave him an odd look then realised it was Prince Edward not wearing student apparel.

SenecaFalls · 08/11/2018 13:23

I was not a student at Cambridge, Vanilla. I was at a Scottish university, but as I posted on the other thread, I got around (geographically, that is). Smile

When I wrote home that I had met Charles, my little sister got all excited and was convinced that he and I would start dating and that I would marry him. She was 6.

SeaRabbit · 08/11/2018 14:05

I know someone who is at Trinity College Cambridge who gets most irritated when articles about it are illustrated by a picture of Charlie.

PawneeParksDept · 08/11/2018 14:41

The thing is, it is WELL within the realm of possibility that Charles Will predecease The Queen elevating the Cambridge's to the top spot within 10 years 🤔
