Wot... no Monday posters?

I have finally got a despatch notice for the Meryl. I rang them this afternoon after no reply to my email and no arrival of jumper despite it sating 'shipped' from last Friday ..o looks like they overlooked me.. .

So I suppose that probably means they have cancelled someone else's order as there have been at least 2 on line since I ordered and one this morning again ..

Anyone else around?

Laska5772 · 05/11/2018 17:39

I ended up at home all day after all.. as DF was expecting the OTs at home today and said not to go over (ill go later inthe week).
V, productive day and iv e just sat down. I made 8 pots of quince and rose jelly, lots of cleaning , did 3 loads of washing and then went out in the garden doing a couple of hours chopping back and tidying..,

oh and I bought quite a lot of christmas presents online .. (but nothing for me for once .. Grin

ilovecherries · 05/11/2018 18:07

I had to go for loads of blood tests today (longitudinal reasearch project I’m part of). Wore my black stripe Dylan trousers and charcoal Katy crew, with air and grace zebra print trainers. Felt rather nice, though I say so myself. Tomorrow I have an mri and then Thursday a colonoscopy. Joy. Already feeling totally crap on my low residue diet prior to colonoscopy and gut sounds as if it’s got an orchestra in there. On the plus side, season 4 of outlander just started on Amazon prime.

dontcallmelen · 05/11/2018 18:09

Laska ooh very productive day liking the sound of quince & rose jelly.
I have been painting all day, bought old battered cupboard from a local charity shop so have been tarting it up & turn it into a toy cupboard for dgd.
Complete pain about your Meryl jumper, very annoying.
Am thinking about Christmas presents, but no actual buying as yet need to start list making I think.

dontcallmelen · 05/11/2018 18:10

Ooh cherries sounds very gruelling, feet up & enjoy your programme.

SoyYo · 05/11/2018 19:29

No fashion news but popping in to say to never that I really liked the gold dress and well done on getting the green skirt in a 12.
Sorry laska you didn’t get the Meryl but super impressed at your productiveness AND Xmas shopping!
Take good care cherries (I also watch outlander but still on series 2)
fudge very traumatic for your DS, never mind the family of his poor friend...it’s the kind of thing I always worried about when mine were younger and at uni (they both struggled a lot in their first year, didn’t settle well and with DS1 there were right bullies in the house he shared, with public school backgrounds where bullying was a way of life). Just very very sad that no one was able to help in time Sad

melen I also upcycle furniture from time to time. Very relaxing hobby it would be nice to see your finished project Smile

dontcallmelen · 05/11/2018 19:34

Soy yy I find it very therapeutic, as you don’t think about anything apart from the job in hand, I will post a picture tomorrow am actually really pleased with how it’s turned out, Dh says if you stay still long enough in this house you get painted😳

neveradullmoment99 · 05/11/2018 19:40

Well hush are sending out the double star pendant tomorrow. So that's good.
Wore my lovely green leopard skirt today with a black jumper and ankle boots and my long charcoal sabrina - wore it like a coat. Felt good in it all.

dontcallmelen · 05/11/2018 19:43

never ooh sounds like a really lovely outfit, very stylish.

NotAnActualSheep · 05/11/2018 19:45

You've all been very productive, painting, gardening, jam making , Christmas shopping...very impressive!

@cherries, that sounds like a really hard few days for you coming up. Take care of yourself Flowers

I think it may be my order that they have cancelled @Laska Grin. I saw a pink Meryl in stock this morning so caved and grabbed it, just to have a look and compare to the grey. And some coated jeans may also have slipped into the basket, just to see, though I probably won't be keeping them. To be honest, it'll have to be super-lovely to keep without the discount (and I'm still debating the grey until I can see some dupes...) but as it seems so popular I wanted to at least see it! They hadn't sent a dispatch email by the time I'd finished work, which they usually do, so mindful of what happened to yours, I went to check on my account. Bizarrely, the order is there, but it says it was made on 31st October, and seems to have "overwritten" my order of the grey one. So I assume as far as they are concerned, they have already sent it out. I gave them a call, and the chap said he'll see if customer services can get to the bottom of it!!! Mysterious.... (but probably means I've missed out on the jumper...grr).

In good news, a courier came with a delivery for me today that I wasn't expecting ( I almost told him I wasn't expecting anything, but the parcel definitely had my name). Turns out it was a case of Wine and a John Lewis voucher as a "thank you" from a client for a big project we reached a milestone on recently(stealth boast/ gloat). It's given me such a boost all afternoon Grin.

dontcallmelen · 05/11/2018 19:54

Not aww that was a ni e thank you, enjoy the 🍷

Laska5772 · 05/11/2018 20:07

ooh Not, sorry if it was .. they do seem to be in a Meryl muddle. When I rang and spoke to the chap before lunchtime ( same one, i wonder?) he said he thought mine had been sent but would check and let me know ( he didn't come back , but then i got the dispatch email )

I said to him , 'Oh well its just a jumper , so if I cant get one its not the end of the world @ , and he told me that not everyone was so sanguine and that he had just had someone "literally begging" him for one.. (I'm sure that wouldn't have been you .. ) Shock.

I still reckon I am really need an XS anyway (but those have been oos for ever..) ..

Laska5772 · 05/11/2018 20:17

Great Wine and voucher result Not Enjoy .. Smile

NotAnActualSheep · 05/11/2018 20:28

Lol @laska! No, I wasn't begging! And I didn't call them til after 5, so it can't have been me... ( seriously, I'm not that invested in it). Having tried it on again in the grey, I am wondering if it's a bit big, and you're slimmer than me I think, so you may be right Re needing to size down. No surprise the XS has been so popular!!

Laska5772 · 05/11/2018 20:40

I didnt imagine it would have been anyone on here Not! .. ill post when it comes.

neveradullmoment99 · 05/11/2018 22:28

@Laska - Did they send you the charcoal tank/vest thing. I see they have them in stock now. Glad your jumper is dispatched. Cant believe someone was begging for one. It is a jumper and although its nice, begging is a bit much Hmm and there are plenty of dupes for this around. Tesco still had one in grey and burgundy.

neveradullmoment99 · 05/11/2018 22:30

Really looking forward to seeing it on you @laska. Love the pink colour. Hope its just as beautiful a colour in real life.

Ellapaella · 05/11/2018 23:00

My Topshop jumper has allegedly been dispatched. We shall see...
The last 2 things I've ordered from TS have never materialised.

OP posts:
neveradullmoment99 · 05/11/2018 23:02

Really @Ella? Have you been charged? That's outrageous. Whats going on? Sorry, I live in a bubble!!! Are they going bust?

hendricksy · 06/11/2018 06:38

I've had that problem with TS too@Ellapaella .. I have a 15 year old dd so we buy a lot from ts.. I usually do click and collect now because they lose everything !! 🙄🙄

Talisin · 06/11/2018 06:46

New stuff up - the party wear edit this time. I love the metallic skirt although I won’t be buying it but why so many sleeveless things? It’s winter, it’s cold for heavens sake!

neveradullmoment99 · 06/11/2018 06:53

I absolutely love the metallic skirt but I don't go that many places so am hesitating to buy as I think it may be too 'fancy' for day wear? Love the metallic sparkly wide top though and may buy it because I love sparkle and love both my wide top and easy dress and a top may just be lovely to have. I agree with the strappy things. I wont be buying any of these things and not sure about the leopard trousers whether I like or hate. Maybe a little way out for me and not sure I would wear them. What do others think? I have a leopard dress from summer that is almost identical apart from the length. I wish they would do a bloody code. I hate ordering full price.

Laska5772 · 06/11/2018 08:53

I (hope) have just swiped an XS MerylSmile. ..
Never I like the glitter wide top also so have ordered to see. If I like it I will sell my last year's glitter easy dress . Wore it for my birthday and Christmas but that was all. I think I'd wear top much more.
Leopard dress is nice but more summer I think. Also like the leopard cami but would not wear it . Wrap dress is nice also

NotAnActualSheep · 06/11/2018 09:06

Wahey! Well done @Laska! Hope it is the right size for you after all that!

I love the glittery wide top too. I thought I'd check on the JL website to see if they had it (to break into my voucher) and its already sold out in all sizes apart from L! I feel very slow... To be honest, I probably wouldn't wear it that much and I still have a nice sparkly/ velvety top I got from Oasis last year, so I think I'll give it a miss. Other things are lovely - but for the "fantasy lifestyle" (and fantasy figure) I never really had in the first place! The leopard wide trousers are cool, but I know they would sit in my wardrobe looking accusingly at me, and never get worn.

Laska5772 · 06/11/2018 09:14

so do I not ( and that I actually like it, having not seen one yet) . JL probably haven't stocked the glitter top yet . plenty of sizes on Hush
