I think the whole world was in shock .Queen! Did you live in Australia or the UK then? Princess Diana was definitely loved the world over.

eaglefly · 25/10/2018 10:59

Can I Just say that this thread is my guilty pleasure and I come here to destress. You are all so funny and just love all the fashion titbits. I really think Meghan needs a trusted advisor for her style. She hasn't fully nailed it yet which is understandable given the newness of it all and the fact that she is dealing with a first pregnancy too.

LimpyLampy · 25/10/2018 11:09

Thanks Para It isn’t a maternity dress though 😂😂😂

QueenOfTheAndals · 25/10/2018 11:23

@AhoyDelBoy I was in Oz back then, Diana had visited just a couple of years earlier was loved over there too.

CP M-M is ill, according to the Mail today (obviously break my self-imposed Mail ban when there's a royal tour on) Sad

SilentIsla · 25/10/2018 11:39

That label hanging from the red dress was a bit unfortunate.🤪

SilentIsla · 25/10/2018 11:42

The “bump” is less evident in the recent glut of photos. Weird. Was the navy coat really necessary at Eugenie’s wedding given that it looked like a 1950’s maternity coverup...?

AhoyDelBoy · 25/10/2018 11:58

I still feel sad for Wills and Harry at special occasions (the weddings and babies) and think to myself ‘Oh Lady Di’.

AhoyDelBoy · 25/10/2018 12:00

SilentIsla I think it’s more what other PPs have been saying that she probably feels massive and like it is so obvious when perhaps it was only obvious to her and Harry back then. It’s definitely obvious to us all now.

QueenOfTheAndals · 25/10/2018 12:00

I'm not sure Diana would've liked the competition from her daughters in law, but then again she might've mellowed in time and remarried and had more kids by now. She was certainly young enough.

OP posts:
AhoyDelBoy · 25/10/2018 12:03

Yeh it’s crazy how young she was really. Just a few years older than me and now her sons are both around the age she was when she died.

AhoyDelBoy · 25/10/2018 12:04

I’ve only just learned of her more sinister antics through these threads e.g. saying it was William who made the nuisance calls when it was her 😰

SenecaFalls · 25/10/2018 12:14

I think it's obvious that she is pregnant in these latest pictures. Her shape has changed dramatically: waist is thicker, bust is quite a bit bigger; even her backside seems bigger. It's not just about the bump.

QueenOfTheAndals · 25/10/2018 12:38

@AhoyDelBoy Diana also had flings with a few married men and apparently wasn't very nice to their wives. I think it was Will Carling's wife Julia who said Diana would come over and just sit in the lounge silently with them. The moment Julia left the room she'd hear Diana burst into animated conversation

There were other things over the years that I didn't mention which indicate that she wasn't the mother she's remembered as, really. Quite famously, William once barred both her and Charles from a school event and invited the Nanny who worked for Charles, Tiggy, instead. This was post Bashir and speaks volumes about what he thought of it.

QueenOfTheAndals · 25/10/2018 13:17

She's supposed to have hated Tiggy too and spread a rumour that Tiggy had an abortion after getting pregnant by Charles. She allegedly sidled up to her at one event to whisper "so sorry about the baby"!

Yes she’s become Saint Diana when she was nothing of the sort. Basically her family fed her to the wolves. She wanted to back out the marriage but her sisters told her it was too late. She also post divorce (I think) asked her brother for help & he said no.

WindyWednesday · 25/10/2018 14:51

Does MMmhave a stylist? The label mistake, and the awkward pulling of the dresses makes me wonder.

She is obviously changing shape very quickly and possibly the travel isn’t helping woth any bloat. Her outfits look so tight, like she’s going to pop out of them. She looks uncomfortable. Also she has lost her sparkle. Hope she is ok.

Jlynhope · 25/10/2018 16:03

I love the green on her but her clothes never seem to fit right, pregnant or not.
The white dress is gorgeous but the black shoes makes her look short and frumpy.
I feel like most of her outfits are almost fabulous but not quite. Jessica Mulroney has awful taste so she dresses well considering who apparently is advising her

Laiste · 25/10/2018 16:04

I'm afraid i'm a dyed in the wool Diana fan. (I'd never line the street to see anyone - just my own feelings quietly at home)

How nice to hear that Meghan is wearing some of her jewellery. I agree with a pp a way up-thread that Kate does seem to wear rather a lot of Diana's old jewels. I'd be wary of accepting a second hand engagement ring from a failed marriage personally. But that's just me. And i guess if you want Harry you have to accept the whole package.

I was in Dorset when she died. Late 20s. Holidaying in a caravan with my 3 youngest DDs. It was about 6am and i was up earlier than everyone else reading in the sun. (Coincidentally a paper back autobiography about Diana. Not something i'd usually read. A holiday book). Turned on the TV to find out the time and sat there for about 10 mins trying to work out who the hell had died! Obvious it was a royal, but which one? .... I was shocked. Everyone was so shocked.

There's no one to compare these days in quite the same way - the amount of press coverage she was getting - it'd be like waking up tomorrow and finding out Kate had died violently. But more so because we'd been hearing all the ins and outs of her marriage ect for months. It's nothing personal to you but such a shock all the same.

UrsulaPandress · 25/10/2018 16:22

I was driving to the stables and had R4 on in the car. I think it was John Humphreys saying the princes were woken by their father to be the given the news and I couldn't work out for a moment what had happened. When I got home I put on the tv to be met with Fiona Phillips in black .................

beanaseireann · 25/10/2018 16:24

I really liked Diana but was very sad that she was willing to do to other women what broke her own heart- have an affair with a married man.
If I were her boys I would NEVER forgive Camilla for what she did - made herself available to a husband and father of two little boys. I know if it were not her it would be ( and was apparently) some other woman.
I'd be so disgusted with Charles the wimp too of course.
People will say it's not black and white.
It is actually. A person can make a choice.

Jlynhope · 25/10/2018 16:27

What good would it do for them to hate Camilla? Wouldn't they then have to never forgive both their parents for also having affairs?
Then what?

QueenOfTheAndals · 25/10/2018 16:34

They seem to get on well with Camilla. Perhaps they have moved on and realise it's no use hating her?

I read something once that said, that before C and C married, William requested and was granted a private meeting with her.

She came out in need of a gin apparently 😄BUT to all appearances she gets on famously with Kate and Harry or so it would seem.
