Apparently the book is aiming to make both William and Harry look bad
the sun

Timing wise you'd think Andrew was behind the book not Charles Wink

thatone · 29/10/2018 19:05

Just catching up now...the white dress..not really to my taste at all, in fact looks a bit outdated and shapless but, she clearly likes this style and she looks so radiant.

Great sign from the NZ leg of the tour Grin

"A close friend" told the Mail that Meghan demanded a pregnancy contract? Yeah, that sounds legit...

In fact, that story appearing at the same time Charles is happy for a biography of him to say some pretty damning things about his sons is more than a bit suspicious!

Am I the only one who wonders why the Royal family can’t just count their blessings! All this petty oneupmanship

itswinetime · 29/10/2018 19:43

Just read the Meghan article don't buy it, a close friend who isn't named is never a trustworthy source.

If it is true though it would make me wonder why someone felt the need to draw up a contact with their husband for stuff like that. Personal trainers and nutritionists are pretty much standard in that business aren't they? Only reason I can see for a contract is your worried your partner is financially controlling or as a joke like if you rub my feet I will make you tea in the morning style

QueenOfTheAndals · 29/10/2018 19:46

I remember joking with my ex "if I get pregnant then I hope you'll get me a personal trainer to shift the baby weight". No doubt if I ever marry a prince then this story will be repeated as me demanding a contract for a trainer!!

OP posts:
itswinetime · 29/10/2018 19:50

Queen that's along the lines i was thinking I have told a few ex's if they win the lottery I want a personal trainer, a chef and obviously I'm a big diva a cleaner I guess it's best I never made it to royalty imagine the skeletons the DM would drag up!

QueenOfTheAndals · 29/10/2018 19:56

Isn't it scary though, to think that if you got engaged to a royal then the press would devote itself to finding out every last bit of information about you, no matter how scurrilous? People you'd not thought of for years would be clamouring to speak to them. Angela from accounts who you snapped at once when you were having a bad day would be relishing telling the world what a bitch you were etc etc. It's quite chilling!

(Don't worry, I'm working on the next thread as we speak!)

It was probably part of a prenup, surely? I wouldn't have thought those uncommon for people in their careers and position?

If it's true of course, unnamed sources are always a bit Hmm, and unnamed sources in the DM doubly so...

AhoyDelBoy · 29/10/2018 20:05

Almost at 1000 already! Looking forward to the next thread, it will be my third, and the links to the old threads as well Smile

itswinetime · 29/10/2018 20:06

Definitely very scary in a way meeting William young must have been easier for Kate! She knew how things would go from a youngish age and could act in a more controlled way/cultivate a very tight groups of friends (horrible way to live I think but protects you from the story's).

Meeting Harry when she was older Meghan has more history behind her! More potential for stories to be sold. I doubt many of us would come up smelling of roses in similar circumstances.

QueenOfTheAndals · 29/10/2018 20:11

@Spudlet No, the story says it was an "informal contract" with no lawyers involved, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was just something she joked about!

SenecaFalls · 29/10/2018 20:20

There was nastiness written about Kate and her family, too, as I recall.

Spudlet · 29/10/2018 20:20

Ah, ok - I hadn't read the story, I try to limit my dm consumption! Blush

Doesn't bear thinking about, all the digging into the past, does it? Anyone who you'd ever slightly annoyed or who you'd made a bit of tit of yourself in front of woukd have the opportunity to get at you and no doubt make some cash from doing so. Not to mention any family skeletons, and who doesn't have those?!

QueenOfTheAndals · 29/10/2018 20:24

Yes, all that "doors to manual" crap about Carole being a flight attendent in the past. Though I don't know if that was for real or just made up by the Mail. Carole is actually to be commended as she built Party Pieces up from scratch!

Shiny new thread

I heard that when William & Kate were living together and had William's friends round for dinner, they treated Kate like the hired help.

Ha! Who's laughing now?!

CoachBombay · 29/10/2018 20:30

Evening all, thank you Curly for Kate's maternity wear.

I have to be honest I adore Kate, I think she's beautiful and I do like her shyness and ability to just stand quietly, confident with herself. She never has to make a show to command a presence I find.

Meghan is lovely and I like her but not as much as Kate. Don't know why.

Charles just needs to be quiet and quite frankly stop picking on his kids!
