Och no. They've had the stardust I think they're probably liking not being the centre of attention.

I think W and K are committed to talking about mental health issues. And Kate has a nre early years initiative in the pipeline.

QueenOfTheAndals · 28/10/2018 09:25

It sounds like Kate's early years initiative is her passion project, much like Invictus is Harry's. It'll be interesting to see what causes Meghan takes on. She's spoken passionately about women's rights before. I don't know when her list of patronages will be announced, probably early in the new year.

Am I hopelessly out of date and not aware of new trends, or does Harry's suit jacket look too short and tight?

QueenOfTheAndals · 28/10/2018 09:41

It does actually, though I'm not up to speed with the latest trends in men's fashion!

Article in DM written by Alexandra Shulman former Vogue Editor about Meghan’s tour wardrobe. Apparently she has spent £46k already.

The Black dress is stunning and the sa deals are perfect.
I really enjoyed her speech.
She is professional & passionate. I think her future charities will be women’s rights, and minorities. (Touched on in Alexandra Shulman’s article)

How is the woman in the green dress walking in those shoes ?Shock
I'd be afraid I'd fall over in them.
Jacinda and Meghan can bond over babies and pregnancy.

TSSDNCOP · 28/10/2018 10:04

Hate the checked Mac. MM has worn a dress that looked like a Mac before and I hated that too. I bet she’ll worry about that tonight when she gets in Grin

Loved the black dress. The group walking along the corridor looks like an interesting party doesn’t it; everyone’s heads sort of facing in/smiling. The green in the lady in the middle looks lovely.

I like an ankle strap myself. Agree they can only be worn by the narrow if calf though.

user1457017537 · 28/10/2018 10:13

PH jacket fits where it touches. Not a good look

AhoyDelBoy · 28/10/2018 11:13

I don’t think ankle strap shoes suit anyone. They cut the leg in half (I may be remembering the days I used to read Trinny and Susannah Grin).

The shoes the woman in green are wearing are the tackiest things I’ve ever seen, not a good look IMO.

Can’t wait to see the rest of Meghan’s tour looks. For all her fashion fails at least we’re not going to see her tottering around in awful shoes like that. And she’s had some stunning looks as well. I think she’s got a tricky figure to dress generally so adding in the pregnancy has made it more difficult again.

Moononthehill28 · 28/10/2018 11:30

Why do the media call shoes ‘pumps’?? I associate pumps with school PE classes!

SenecaFalls · 28/10/2018 11:35

"Pump" is the American English word for a court shoe.

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 28/10/2018 11:40

She needs a brutally honest tailor around her I think. That black/blue cocktail dress has a beautiful neckline but I think the length is just a shade wrong. The berry dress is lovely and a great colour, but again we've got the norkage/short waist/is the belt in the right place thing going on. She is clearly struggling with her changing body, we've all been there. The maternity mini is perfect!

Cherries101 · 28/10/2018 11:41

I love MM’s clothes. She actually wears stuff that inspires me to go out and buy something similar.

SenecaFalls · 28/10/2018 12:03

I don’t think ankle strap shoes suit anyone.

I do hope you are wrong. I have narrow feet with a very narrow heel. Ankle straps help keep the shoes on. I think Meghan may have the same issue.

thatone · 28/10/2018 12:17

Agree LonnyVonny... - slightly too long dress..

AhoyDelBoy · 28/10/2018 12:17

I’m sure they suit you SenecaFalls Grin

AhoyDelBoy · 28/10/2018 12:19

She seems to like the 7/8 look which emphasises her tiny ankles. I don’t think it’s a flattering length on many. Lots of the guests at Eugenie’s wedding wore skirts and dresses this length and looked awful IMO.

thatone · 28/10/2018 12:19

I agree about tailor too. KM seems to have worked out that she needs a slightly higher waist on her dresses to elongate the legs. MM also needs a few similar tricks to get the proportions right.

Laiste · 28/10/2018 12:21

I've been wondering about the 'pump' thing as well. I associate pump with with ballet flat type shoe - but canvas/cork ect.

There seems to be a lot of negative comments about MM when you scroll down from some of these articles about the tour. The £££ on clothes doesn't seem to be endearing her much. (great for us fashion watchers obvs :)) Argument raging between 'the clothes are all donated by the designers' and 'royals aren't allowed to accept gifts it's all our's/charles's/harry's money being spent'. Who's correct? Anyone here know for sure?

The points of separation (are we still doing it?) my MIL has met the queen 7 times socially (FIL high up in Navy) and my mum has met the queen mother and the queen a hand full of times as an employee. And me - my claim to fame is that when i was a kid some of my clothes were Lady Sarah Chatto's (then Armstrong-Jones) hand me downs Grin

SenecaFalls · 28/10/2018 12:34

Speaking from experience, the proportion thing is hard when you have a short waist and long legs. I used to sew (No patience for it as I get older) and the style choices and pattern and fitting adjustments you have to make are tricky and time consuming, even without pregnancy. Of course, Meghan has the resources to have things adjusted to fit perfectly, but as others have pointed out, doing that on a tour with an ever changing body shape is even more challenging.

IPromiseIWontBeNaughty · 28/10/2018 12:35

Sarah Chatto hand me downs - wow you lucky things laiste

HeavenlyEyes · 28/10/2018 12:40

I see some awful comments about her - not just about the cost of wardrobe but how fake she is too. Folk are just so mean.

RainbowsArePretty · 28/10/2018 12:43

Lovely pic of the Queen!

Pupsiecola · 28/10/2018 12:45

My mum has met the Queen face to face (she worked at a hospital and the Queen opened it and did a tour around, and the staff lined the corridors).

My best friend met Diana twice. She worked for a city firm of Financial Advisors and attended two meetings with Diana when was deciding what to do with her divorce settlement. She said she was stunning and beautiful and very witty.

My brother's father-in-law was a cabinet minister and there was a picture of him in the press seated next to the Kate at a fancy dinner.
