I am blessed with norkage so recognise the phenomenon.

🤣 ditto, it’s a curse. High necked items are ok in the right style and fabric I think. There is just too much fabric in that dress!

7salmonswimming · 26/10/2018 02:32

I think the trouble is that what works in your dressing room at Kensington Palace doesn’t really work in the heat, humidity and sunlight of Fiji/Tonga etc. Being pregnant and extra knackered from having to be nice to strangers for days on end probably doesn’t help.

If I were her I’d be desperate to get back home, wear no make up and put on leggings and a t shirt. Drink lots of tea. Sleep a lot. WhatsApp my friends. Watch TV.

Wonder whether her home actually feels like home. She’s not been living in the UK that long. She’s taken on a lot in a short space of time when you think about it: career change, move to new country, live in a new house, acquire husband, become member of the RF, have your family stuff written up in the papers, become pregnant, do a tour like this, all in the space of a year or so. When you put it like that....

Quantumblue · 26/10/2018 03:03

Not a fan of the stripey dress. Looks as if it has been crumpled in her suitcase. Agree she must be looking forward to a break. They should have built in a weekend off somewhere.

LadyCassandra · 26/10/2018 03:31

Lady Gabriella’s wedding is in the spring. I’m related to her fiancé, although I’ve never met him. I think the wedding will be smallish, but then again his sisters’ weddings were both big.

TipseyTorvey · 26/10/2018 03:32

Another one here not keen on that striped number. It looks like the sort of thing a smart, independent trouser wearing woman wears when she's panicked about meeting her boyfriend's mother for the first time and wants to look like a 'nice' girl. It's just not really her.

itswinetime · 26/10/2018 03:48

I agree with lots of you maybe it's the pregnancy and not every thing has let out as well as expected but A few of Meghans dresses just fit wrong. Red lovely good fit agree I would have gone black shoes(shame about the tag🙈). But then the green was all wrong at the top I think there was too much material but I liked the colour. The white was fabulous loved it agree silver shoes would have tipped it over to perfect. Then today's stripy is another miss for me the neckline isn't great on her and again the fit just seems off.

I do get dressing at this point in pregnancy can be tricky and adding travel and trying to cover up in the zika country's all makes it even harder but i have seen Kate in some outfits I didn't like/didn't think suited her over the years but never ones that didn't seem to fit. If I were Meghan id look at either a new stylist or seamstress.

Cornwall73 · 26/10/2018 04:59

She has got changed into a blue dress. You cannot see her bump but tell tale sign is the fact that her tie belt is not on her waist. Fuller skirts hide bumps very successfully.

The stripped dress was a miss for me. Like i have said before she is going for high necklines which really don’t work for the fuller bust. The green dress was the same. I really didn’t like it for this reason.

If I were her stylist and knowing about having to dress a changing figure on a daily basis for high profile events, I would have brought a seamstress with me. I don’t think her advisors have been very good at attention to detail like that but then again it’s been a short time in the role, a pregnancy and a long tour all rolled into a very short time!

Look closely...
Has anyone else noticed that Meghan does not appear to be wearing her engagement ring with the striped dress?

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 26/10/2018 06:09

No engagement ring.
Her fingers may well be swelling due to head & pregnancy.

Agree that she is very short waisted.
She’s bought a lot of off the peg clothes in a size larger to accommodate her waist, but they are swamping her top half.
The fuller skirts work for her, but she should be wearing separates.
She needs fitted tops with an open or v neck.
I saw at Eugenie’s wedding, that high necks are very “in”.
However once your boobs go beyond a b cup, they can look very matronly.

We said this on one of the very earliest threads before she got married.
She really needs a decent seamstress.
On a trip like this, old fashioned as it sounds, she needs a ladies maid to unpack and press her clothes.

I don’t think she tried anything from Australia on.
I bet it was ordered and delivered to Sydney; government house.

The European clothes have fitted her better.

She desperately needs a stylist who has experience in maternity wear.

I think when she gets home, it will be straight into pjs and under the duvet for a week. As mentioned up thread; the year she has had, even though they are all positive things, must be exhausting.

They shouldn’t expect her to do a lot of engagements this pregnancy, or at least try and recover a bit for when the baby arrives.
Cannot wait to see Harry with the baby strapped to his chest in a papoose!

AhoyDelBoy · 26/10/2018 06:17

Cannot wait to see Harry with the baby strapped to his chest in a papoose!

That would be the sweetest! Smile

Oh and I agree 110% with everything else you’ve said too!

AhoyDelBoy · 26/10/2018 06:18

Would one of the original thread members be willing to take the time to link all the previous threads? Smile

serenmoon · 26/10/2018 06:24

The necklines she’s been wearing just don’t suit her. I think her figure is rapidly changing and they hadn’t accounted for that when choosing the clothes. In an interview she once gave before she met Harry she was asked for a fashion tip and she said that it was to get clothes tailored as fit was so important so it’s strange she’s not following her own advice.

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 26/10/2018 06:26

Striped dress is a massive fail. Blue dress slightly better but to be honest, I haven't properly liked anything from this whole tour. I don't think it's the pregnancy itself, overly - it's that it seems rushed, badly fitting, creased, and just not right. Whoever is advising/dressing her isn't doing their job properly. They've let her down, imo. She should be feeling great about herself right now, not trailing round with labels hanging out her dress for the whole world to photograph.

AhoyDelBoy · 26/10/2018 06:33

I agree ItsNice

Spudlet · 26/10/2018 06:51

I agree too, Itsnice. And I agree with 7salmon about how completely and utterly her life has changed, in pretty much every respect. I know some people dislike them holding hands so much, but I think a few people would need a hand hold under those circumstances!

evilharpy · 26/10/2018 07:03

I think she’s coped with it all remarkably well. Much better than I would have done!

I like the blue Veronica Beard dress. Would love that one for myself.

Clionba · 26/10/2018 07:15

She has taken stylist Jessica Mulroney with her, plus assistants. She's not unpacking or laundering herself, so any errors are down to her team.
I'm going to disagree with everyone now - I really like the striped dress! It was different for her, and a nice length! I also like her hair in the neater ponytail. Those hanging tendrils were beginning to annoy me. Plus it's stopping her habit of constantly pushing them back. I love the huge aquamarine ring that was Diana's!! Smile

WindyWednesday · 26/10/2018 07:15

I agree she needs someone to press her clothes and alter then to fit, I know her friend is reported to be her stylist, but does she have someone to snip labels odd etc.

Never seem Kate look imperfect. But she has a long body so easier to dress perhaps.

MM is going to be really curvy in pregnancy. She’s going to look amazing. She needs to ditch the tight dresses and embrace full skirts.

WindyWednesday · 26/10/2018 07:17

I think her hair is becoming more natural. At her hairline you can see curls. I wonder if she will go a bit more curly now?

Minimammoth · 26/10/2018 07:20

I have been lurking a bit, but just to join in the fitting issue, the white dress looked great, but didn’t fit at the back due to short waist, and I agree her body shape is changing rapidly, she’s doing a great job though in the circumstances. I worry about those heels throwing her posture out.
I also like her more natural hair in the blue dress photo.

AnimalMystery · 26/10/2018 07:38

I liked the white dress from the back but thought the neck needed to be lower at the front.

She (and he, to a lesser extent) must be shattered. I know they’re not doing hard physical labour but having to be “on” to the extent they are for so many hours is so tiring.

AhoyDelBoy · 26/10/2018 07:43

Yes I agree she’s going to be very curvy. She’s already quite a bit bigger than she was pre pregnancy. I hope she’s embracing it and doesn’t feel awful. I know I did during pregnancy having reached a whole 65kg (12kg gained). It didn’t suit me though, I think the DoS looks great, I just don’t like her clothes.

Spudlet · 26/10/2018 07:59

I liked the blue shirt dress. The co,oir really suits her. I think the stripey one would have looked better with one or two of the top buttons open - it was just not the right shape for her.

DontCallMeCharlotte · 26/10/2018 08:09

That last blue dress is a hit for me. That separates/shirtwaister look really works for her at the moment.

I hope she bins off Jessica Mulroney (as a stylist, not as a friend obvs) when she gets home and starts afresh.

HeavenlyEyes · 26/10/2018 08:09

Not keen on the striped dress - it seems to be wearing her than the other way round.
