That is very sad news about Mette Marit. It's a serious illness. Her poor family.

mmmgoats · 25/10/2018 19:41

That’s terrible I’m so sad to read that.

Paradyning · 25/10/2018 19:41

This is her tiara link if anyone is interested.

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 25/10/2018 19:52

Max's tiara bloody marvellous-
she does seem to be having a grand time with it all-
Hate Sophie's suit but she looks lovely at banquet.
Am glad kate finally has that ribbon honour thing-
but she never seems to wear sash-is that another thing she needs to be bestowed??

NoParticularPattern · 25/10/2018 19:53

I was reading about Mette-Marit last night. It does sound a lot like they are downplaying it which I guess is fair enough. Must be horrid to deal with a life-limiting illness without having to do it in the public eye.

On a slightly brighter note I am just catching up from yesterday and do rather like the white dress that Meghan has had on today. Agree it may have been better with silver sandals but if her feet are anything like mine in pregnancy (I’m still hoping there’s part of me that might be similar 😂) then they’ve probably gone weird. Not a size up or even wider, just nothing felt right!!

SenecaFalls · 25/10/2018 19:53

He had no reason to state publicly that Camilla was not his children’s grandmother.

When did he do this? If you are referring to the documentary about Diana, this is not what he said.

mmmgoats · 25/10/2018 19:58

@paradyning that tiara is gorgeous

beanaseireann · 25/10/2018 19:58

I think Mette Marit is the most beautiful of the Royals.
However Megan is up there with her now.
I'm sorry to hear Mette Marit is ill.
I think her husband had the ba*ls to marry her despite all the naysayers re her being a single Mum and a undesirable past boyfriend.

Clionba · 25/10/2018 20:01

I recall a tv interview shortly before C and C got married. William said they were happy for their father and welcomed Camilla. I know it was for the public, but they seemed happy and sincere. I can't think either of them would say something unpleasant or negative publicly.

BlingLoving · 25/10/2018 20:25

Most of the time I think Meghan doesn't look pregnant.... unless you compare photos of her now to a few months ago. Her shape has changed, rather than her looking fat/ pregnant. I have always felt that she hasn't quite mastered the art of having her clothes tailored to fit, even high street stuff (which Kate has clearly completely cracked) and it must be 100x worse when dealing with the rapid changes experienced at this stage of pregnancy!

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 25/10/2018 20:35

Meghan said in an interview preHarry that her style icon was French fashion editor Emmanuelle Alt

Meghan hasn’t found a more formal style influence, for her working duchess wardrobe. For really high profile events she cracks open Givenchy, Dior, Herrera.
But she needs to find some designers who are reasonably priced; hopefully British and work to her Style aesthetic.

She does suit that pared down American sportswear / casual style.
I think the Carolyn Bessette Kennedy style works well for Meghan. CBK was also a publicist for Calvin Klein, so that aesthetic works...

I would also look at Vintage Jackie Kennedy.
Meghan should also think about cutting her hair and embracing her natural curls whilst pregnant. She would look amazing.

TipseyTorvey · 25/10/2018 20:37

I think @MotherofPearl has nailed exactly why I love this thread. So tired of all the vitriol and nastiness, so lovely to just be saying thing like 'hmmm, silver shoes might be better' rather than brexit, trump, genderwar. 😁.

YearOfYouRemember · 25/10/2018 20:53

Apparently Meghan loved the white and silver dress but asked it to be remade with extra seam allowance. All done in two days.

mmmgoats · 25/10/2018 21:18

@yearofyouremember that's interesting, where did you read that? I think the white and silver might be one of my favourites of hers

legolammb · 25/10/2018 21:35

Agreed MotherofPearl and Tipsey I enjoy the frivolity and positivity on these threads, certainly compared to the nastiness on social media or the general news. I've found them a welcome distraction at a very challenging time. I'm enjoying the royal tour and being able to wake up to a new outfit every day!

YearOfYouRemember · 25/10/2018 21:38

here

legolammb · 25/10/2018 21:41

CurlyWurly - I definitely get hints of Carolyn Bassette Kennedy and Emmanuelle Alt in Meghan's style.

Agree that some Jackie Kennedy-esque evening looks would be great - she was so incredibly elegant. If I were several stone slimmer I'd love the recent white dress as a wedding dress.Hoping to channel a bit of a vintage evening wear vibe when I start looking at wedding dresses!

I have Meghan's hair type and I completely get why she would be too nervous to wear it natural - I've never gone to work with natural hair

AhoyDelBoy · 25/10/2018 21:46

I wonder if Kate has a bad night with Louis she hands the reins over to the nanny and catches up on a few hours sleep? I’ve no shame in saying that if I was in her position that’s exactly what I’d do.

The stuff about Diana makes for sad reading. It seems the marriage should never have gone ahead. Didn’t PC have designs on Camilla even then?

I agree about the positivity of the threads as well, it’s great. Some of the comments on instagram are just ridiculous.

I CAN’T WAIT for the NZ leg of the tour! Grin

serenmoon · 25/10/2018 21:51

It must be so amazing to have clothes made for you. I need a stylist in my life Grin

MotherofPearl · 25/10/2018 22:02

Carolyn Bassette Kennedy was so beautiful and the epitome of style imo. I agree that Meghan often echoes her look.

SenecaFalls · 25/10/2018 22:11

I've found them a welcome distraction at a very challenging time.

Absolutely. I did have to take a break from the thread today to go vote. Now back to the fun.

Clionba · 25/10/2018 22:19

The next kinda royal wedding is Lady Gabriella Windsor's. Anyone know the date? I think she's a very attractive woman, quite striking. I wonder what her mum will wear? Fingers crossed for no embarrassing jewels.... Confused

QueenOfTheAndals · 25/10/2018 22:23

Princess Michael is still a striking-looking woman, always has been, and she and prince Michael were a v handsome couple back in the day. Apparently HM has said about her "she's far too grand for the likes of us"!

OP posts:
Clionba · 25/10/2018 22:28

Yes! She reportedly calls her "Our Val", short for Valkyrie.
They were such an attractive couple, they married 40 years ago!
