Harry & Meghan have arrived in Sydney.
The purple folders coordinating with her coat will not slow down speculation...

It would've been thunder stealing to announce it before surely??

skippy67 · 15/10/2018 10:08

And it's pretty obvious why the Daily mail and it's followers dislike her. Same reasons people on here do. Jealously and her race.

PennyMordauntsLadyBrain · 15/10/2018 10:13

Pretty clear why they dislike her...

Some of the comments under any of the Royal Family’s Facebook updates barely mask the racism either

beanaseireann · 15/10/2018 10:34

Great news , another Royal baby. Hoping all goes well for Harry and Meghan with the pregnancy.
Speculators were spot on Smile

PennyMordauntsLadyBrain · 15/10/2018 10:38

There was a poster on one of the chat threads over the weekend who was convinced she was pregnant because she had a slightly more plump nose than usual- she was ridiculed but stood firm that it was a sure sign.

Wonder if she’ll get an apology Grin

frugalkitty · 15/10/2018 10:38

Love a bit of baby news! I wonder if this means Prince Andrew will be encouraging Eugenie to have one, not wanting to be outdone by the Sussexes and all......Grin

SodTheBloodyLotOfThem · 15/10/2018 10:39

My nose got bigger when I was pregnant, long before my arse did Grin

FATEdestiny · 15/10/2018 10:57

I keep wondering about that tight leather skirt she wore last week (or was it the week before).

Where was the bump hiding?!

Clionba · 15/10/2018 11:02

frugalkitty GrinGrin ha ha!!
That leather skirt gave nothing away, then she couldn't button up the coat, but maybe she's got a bit bigger quite quickly.
I've heard reports that she's going to Fiji and Tonga? We'll see.

PennyMordauntsLadyBrain · 15/10/2018 11:04

I remember years ago reading about Amanda Holden wearing Spanx during early pregnancy to throw people of the scent- it worked, I think she was about six months before she announced. I don’t know if that would be recommended though.

If Megs is only 3-4 months and it’s her first pregnancy, decent shapewear will probably have helped. Now baby isn’t nestled in her pelvis anymore, shes probably just popped!

I’m due in mid-March with DC2 and I’m already massive, so dreading seeing DoS look amazing the whole way through while I look like a beached whale! Grin

PawneeParksDept · 15/10/2018 11:13

Checking in. Knew they'd announce today. Eugenie LIVES at KP and is close to Harry of course the B and G knew before the wedding!

RosinaAlmaviva · 15/10/2018 11:30

Oh wow! Lovely news. Smile I hope Meghan won't be too exhausted by the tour, it sounds like they're packing a lot in.

I wonder what title the baby will have, if any?

PawneeParksDept · 15/10/2018 11:33

Baby isn't currently entitled to Prince/Princess. I imagine it will be Lord or Lady Sussex only to change when Charles inherits the throne and the Sussexes May choose not to upgrade. The Cambridge's have 3 children, Harry may choose to go the Zara/Peter route with his.

ChicagoLil · 15/10/2018 12:07

The royal memorabilia companies must be going into overdrive this year! Grin

DontCallMeCharlotte · 15/10/2018 12:10

Will she get maternity leave/pay seeing as she hasn't been with "the Firm" for two years yet?

Grin
QueenOfTheAndals · 15/10/2018 12:13

Good point, maybe she should ring ACAS!

Pupsiecola · 15/10/2018 12:40

Lovely news but I do think it was bad form to announce it to close family at the wedding.

Ah good stuff curly a brand new thread.

Congratulations to Meg and Harry Wine

Dontfeellikeamillenial · 15/10/2018 12:43

Er, just a sec.

I didn't look like that at 3 mths pregnant! She's looks amazing!

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 15/10/2018 13:11

The baby will be a Lord or Lady, not Prince or a Princess under current letters patent. A boy will Earl Dumbarton ( one of Harry’s subsidiary titles) a girl will be Lady X Mountbatten-Windsor. I suspect once Charles becomes King, although they will be entitled to the Prince / Princess titles, they’ll probably stay Lord / Lady a bit like Lady Louise / Viscount Severn.

Just as an aside, when Philip pops off Edward and Sophie become Duke & Duchess of Edinburgh and James becomes Earl of Wessex.

I have just spotted there is an entire thread discussing the baby’s title.

I think Lady Doria Mountbatten-Windsor has a nice ring to it.

So pleased for them. It's headline news here in the States this morning.

WipsGlitter · 15/10/2018 13:32

It will be i interesting to see how she the giving birth thing. As a self proclaimed feminist I'm not so sure if she'll be willing to stand fully made up in her best stress on hospital steps showing off a baby, would you not want to send more realistic and positive message to women around the world about childbirth?

I'm also guessing that she will have her mum at the birth with her. I did wonder when Doria was here a few weeks ago if she was there to go to early scans with her.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 15/10/2018 14:32

Given that Kate has had 3, she may well not have any more, so maybe Meghan will be make up free, in yoga pants on the hospital steps, to show a bit of reality. Its actually Harry I want to see most as a new dad. Both of their lives have changed an extraordinary amount in the last 12 months.

I love the folders and the photo of Megan and Harry holding an Invictus Games flag in front of their bodies. Hide that bump! I seem to remember that I went from a bit bloated looking to woah, BUMP! in what seemed like a day or so, so maybe Megan too has just suddenly gone pop?

Lovely news anyway, hope it goes well and we get some nice maternity clothes to look at. And I do hope they avoid the post-partum parade business - as this child will be much further down the line of succession than the Cambridge babies, perhaps there'll be a bit less pressure? Wishful thinking though I suspect Sad
