Princess Eugenie's wedding: The sartorial highs and lows. Plus Fergie's back, bitches!

Following on from the general royal style thread, which is fast filling up, here's one just to discuss today's outfits.

My predictions

I’m really hoping Fergie will look fabulous - <a class="break-all" href="http://go.mumsnet.com/?xs=1&id=470X1554755&url=goo.gl/images/Ex3BbE" target="_blank">teal or <a class="break-all" href="http://go.mumsnet.com/?xs=1&id=470X1554755&url=goo.gl/images/oiAQaV" target="_blank">forest green look good on her.

After Kate's recent trip to the V&A, I’m hoping for something a bit more adventurous than a pale blue or yellow coat dress. Sophie in blue or pink Wickstead, Meghan in navy and/or boat-neck. She and Victoria Beckham may end up in similar outfits.

The Queen in fuchsia, neon green or yellow, Ladies Sarah and Helen in something elegant and understated, Karen Spencer in a dress that’s spectacular but so tight she can’t breathe.

And of course Princess Anne in a dress she's owned since 1986 that still fits her perfectly!

They said the tiara was the Queen's, previously the Queen Mother's. It's certainly blingy.

Lots of guests in white/cream. Do they not Mum's net?

We have never known the size of the Greville bequest so it would make sense.

Just watching it on tv in Australia, it is currently 8:03pm here on Friday night. Her wedding dress is GORGEOUS! So much better than Megan Markle's.

I've seen it before, but the royal official website confirmed it.

Princess Eugenie is wearing the Greville Emerald Kokoshnik Tiara, lent to her by Her Majesty The Queen. The tiara was made by Boucheron for Mrs Greville in 1919 in the fashionable ‘kokoshnik’ style popularised in the Russian Imperial Court.

The tiara is made of brilliant and rose cut diamonds pavé set in platinum, with six emeralds on either side. The tiara was bequeathed by Mrs Greville to Queen Elizabeth in 1942.

Princess Eugenie is wearing diamond and emerald drop ear-rings which are a Wedding gift from the Groom.

I really think wedding guests shouldn’t wear white or cream. The bride looks very happy, the dress is beautiful and a wise decision not to wear a veil on such a windy day.

I dont like Andrew, he generally a pompous git but look at him arranging her dress.

I think the groom's got a problem with his eyes. It looks as if he usually wears contacts but can't today for some reason.....

10/10 for the dress from me, but I'm surprised she isn't wearing the York tiara.

That is without a doubt my favourite ever royal dress. It's elegant whilst being interesting, and completely appropriate for the season. How beautiful she looks.
