The Danish Royals dress quite normally for their State opening.
We're so used to the dressing up in the UK. We forget that it's a bit weird to go essentially to work in full evening dress, an ermine robe and a crown at 11am

There is some serious modernizing afoot. Prince Charles has proposed that Buckingham Palace be open to the Public and be used for official engagements and be opened as a Museum. He is Apparently very happy in Clarence House.

Also state opening was casual last year and will be cancelled this year due to Brexit. It looks like Charles is keen on cutting the bloat of the royal family. (Not sure Andrew got the memo)

I think there will be a real.sea change with Charles. He's going to have at least a good 20 years to make some significant changes.

Anyone know why CP Mary and Princess Marie seem to ignore each other?

Kate looks great, her hair is back to being thick and bouncy. I also think her face looks a bit younger than it did, maybe clever make up. I don’t know about now but Kate definitely was a smoker, I live abroad and magazines here have printed photos of her smoking before. I guess UK papers agreed not to print them. Carol too was a smoker.

Just so we're clear, one of these photos is Gumby and the other is CP Mary. If you squint so, you may never know!

@PastaOfMuppets I've not noticed that, but I've often wondered what Mary thinks about her BiL finding someone who's not only her double, but practically has the same name as her too! It must feel a little weird.

Joachim has always struck me as a bit dim and he allegedly cheated on Alexandra, who seems to still be on excellent terms with Queen Margarethe and the rest of the royal family.

Kate always looks good at sporty or outdoorsy things.
I like the way Mary tries different stuff but the Gumby look does not quite work.

Harry and Meghan have arrived in Sussex. I've only seen a brief video on KP's Twitter but it looks like she's wearing a beige coat over a black dress so pretty standard. He looks really good in his pale suit though - he's notably upped his sartorial standards since he met Meghan!

Late to the party but love Kate's casual outfit, especially from the top up. I want that jacket!

Surely the Queen is just on her normal Balmoral break, which is why she hasn’t been seen doing engagements recently?

She’s actually got nine engagements listed up until the end of November.

More news on Meghan's outfit today - it's actually a green skirt and top. And it's a leather skirt!

I am loving that leather skirt. I'm also sure I saw a woman in the City wearing the same one on Monday. I nearly stopped her to ask where she got it!

Is it awful that I am loving the news that kate was/is a smoker? I've always suspected that there's a lot more to her than her polite, always appropriate, charming public persona. And the thought of her nipping out for a fag makes me laugh.

I also think Harry looks absolutely fantastic today.

I think I may have tried on that shirt in a different colour... but as is almost always the case for me with shirts, it gaped because I have big breasts.
