I've searched for "by the fireplace" on the perfume parlour website but can't find it - is it the one called "wood fire"?

An exciting package arrived today from Namastay so I am now smelling of Christmas (aka CBC). A mega blast of dry brandy initially and oranginess then it gets raisiny (sweet but slightly musty in a good way - think it's the oak and honey giving me that impression) and now it's luscious sweet fruit which I'm less enamoured with and is recognisably Sarah Mc but the honey is still there as well (why do I like honeyed perfumes when I don't like sweetness?). Typically interesting and I loved the dry top notes. It smells exactly like the memory of Christmas pudding.

I'm making up a set for you but have no travelos at the moment so need to order more so it may be next weekend before I send stuff off, I am spectacularly tardy, my mother despairs.

Years ago i had the most beautiful body oil from Miller Harris but cannot remember which scent it was. I have tried some testers but cannot narrow it down. It has hints of violet but was alos a bit leathery and woody, ith Tuberose too.
The liquid was yellow in colour but dont know what the packaging was lile. can anyone help me?

I don't think it's that. Though that seems the obvious solution..I sniffed a sample at the airport.
Possibly coeur de fleur or etu noir

i will have to go back to dept store.....

Lotsofpots · 12/10/2018 18:01

Mrs8 the by the fireside dupe is incredible! I can't stop sniffing myself. Have a range of others to try - Tabacco vanille, English oak and redcurrant, and a few others that I wanted to try the originals of. Will report back.

Oh god I'm going to have to try the Wood Fire now, everyone is selling it to me! I'm on an absolute perfume buying embargo atm though. October is a financial month from hell atm

SOTE is PP Black Violets (and a fresh nightie Smile) I love this. Waitrose have you tried this? I find it quite a "masculine" violet but I like perfumes that have a touch of aftershave or astringency about them. I think this is why I love Paloma Picasso so much. When I get a whiff of either of those two on my clothes after wearing them, the clothes smell like I just have picked them off the swanky thick carpeted bedroom floor of a gorgeous male

KaliforniaDreamz · 12/10/2018 18:27

I love a masculine fragrance
Bottega Veneta Eau legere is my fave but it has no staying power at all
