Miss snap! I’m wearing my M&S leggings today too (homeworking this week to ease myself into it before the next 2 weeks of travel). I like the boots, they’re certainly starry! Don’t know why but they made me think of 70’s rock stars and Ziggy Stardust. I think they’d look great with black jeans. They look super comfy too!

laska Flowers I totally understand what you’re going through. It’s bad enough dealing with a pet with a chronic condition without the additional aggro.

melen Thanks for the welcome back I do hope I can make that holiday feeling last! Feeling the cold here! Do report back on your RL shop.

Laska5772 · 01/10/2018 20:00

Miss Bobbins where did the boots come from? I think today we are saying its never too late/ nor nothing is trying too hard ! Go for it.. did you see my Ash ones I just got from from Brand Alley a real bargain (esp as I emailed myself a £20 referral code) Wink

dontcallmelen · 01/10/2018 20:02

Yup, liking the boots & trainers bit of a 70’s vibe going on today 😍

noodlezoodle · 01/10/2018 20:15

I am sulking a bit, because as I was dithering over the Charlie dress it went out of stock. It's 12 pounds delivery to the US which is a bit steep if I just order the devore t-shirt, so I'm going to give it a few days to see if a Charlie dress comes back in, and if not am going to treat myself to something else instead. Despite the eye watering price I am considering the red/leopard jumper as it looks lovely and really suited whoever tried it on up thread (sorry, can't remember who it was).

In the spirit of trying to be useful to the thread, I did buy some lovely things from Cos when I was back in the UK. A lovely long black cardigan which is every warm and cosy, and a long black wool skirt which drapes very pleasingly. I am not a goth, even though it sounds like it from these buys!

Actually all the feline talk has just reminded me how empty our home is without their company now Sad
I didn’t mention it but diabetic boys’ cat brother also passed away just before we went on holiday. He was always the top cat, he looked after his sick bro grooming him as his health deteriorated and we thought he was in good health for an 18 year old mog. After his brother died he deteriorated so quickly we ended up with (again) weekly visits to the vets. At first it was a nose infection. Then in August he started doing this weird thing of “shredding” his food when he was eating and drinking in a weird way, we kept asking the vet about his teeth and I’ll cut a long story short but end of August the vet found a huge fast growing tumour under his jaw that went right across his throat. It was growing so fast he only noticed it on that visit before our hols... and told us the cat would soon be unable to eat or drink due to the tumour. We were in shock and still haven’t digested it fully...we had to make the tough decision as he told us he wouldn’t be alive for more than another week or two.
My theory is that once his bro was gone he mourned him so badly his fight went out of him. Maybe a sad coincidence but we’ve lost our pets of the last 18 years two months apart. We do miss them.
They are sentient beings and feel like we do 😥. So laska first priority is Mr Moggs. Sod the neighbour who’s been utterly ridiculous. I hope the keeping in at night works as I know ours hated having their cat flap locked, but he is quite old and hopefully won’t complain too much as the nights get colder and a litter tray and yummy treats are near to make it more bearable.
Sorry if this tale is a downer, I’m not done with the mourning and can’t imagine ever wanting another pet in my life right now...

Anyway back to fashion: tomorrow I should receive Hush parcel so will report back!

ilovecherries · 01/10/2018 20:18

Oh, love some of Cos. Lots I don’t like, then I see a few things I LOVE. Have you got pictures/links, noodle.

MissBobbins picture of your boots took a while to appear. I love them. It’s a yes from me.

dontcallmelen · 01/10/2018 20:21

Aww Soy that’s so sad 💐🍷

SoyYo · 01/10/2018 20:24

noodle sorry to read about the Charlie dress...but keep looking there’s always returns popping in. I returned it because it was oversized but also the fabric was very itchy and I’m not overly sensitive. So maybe it’s saved you a return...but I know what it’s like when you want to scratch the itch and you think it’ll be great and can’t try it on Angry

Laska5772 · 01/10/2018 20:26

Cherries what are you doing re the supersoft top? Ive kept mine , It is shorter than the wide tops though I like the marled grey fabric much better than the old pale grey one. I also think it looks fine with my gap charcoal straight leg jeans .Maybe you need simmer trousers with it ? ( but not necessarily skinnies )

noodlezone Hello ! I dont know if John Lewis deliver to the US? (i cant tell from here ) They have several Hush lines also

Laska5772 · 01/10/2018 20:28

Ah soy have shed a few real tears for you and your Dpusscats .. Flowers

Missbobbins · 01/10/2018 20:29

@Laska5772 and @SoyYo so sorry to hear about your kitty troubles. Big love to you. Xx

@Laska5772 the boots are from TKMaxx - they were £20 - not leather but very comfy!
Will try them with black jeans and see how I go!
Thank you! 😍

ilovecherries · 01/10/2018 20:45

Oh Soy that so sad.

ilovecherries · 01/10/2018 20:47

laska - I have 5 items I’m currently trying to decide if they are keep or return: the soft jersey top, the rock n roll t, the toast-esque trousers, the grey cardi, and a silk shirt. Tomorrow I will add the Shelley blazer, the nana and the flori bag to that list!

SoyYo · 01/10/2018 20:52

Thank you all, I didn’t mention it before as it was too painful to remember but when I read how candidly you’ve all discussed things of real consequence I decided to tell you. So you see I was using my fractured ankle as the excuse to complain when all along in August the real issue was my surviving cat rapid deterioration...I put my crazy sales buying to all that stress.
Appreciate the kindness with the way these topics are handled on this thread Flowers must learn to open up more...

That holiday was very healing for all those reasons and being by the sea and in nature really helped.
One excellent news I can share is that our DS2 graduated this summer! 🥂

So. Looking forward to more fashion news and I don’t think anyone has ordered the LS jersey dress in forest green which I’m expecting in the post tomorrow. A bit of a wild card, not expecting much but you never know with the Hush...

SillyLittleBiscuit · 01/10/2018 20:56

Just bought this. I love it!

dontcallmelen · 01/10/2018 21:00

Yeahy congrats to ds2🎓 yy Soy sometimes it’s good for the soul to share some worries.

Laska5772 · 01/10/2018 21:01

XXxxx Soy ..Funny how this had become so much more than a fashion chat .. We really must do that spring meet up Len suggested !

Laska5772 · 01/10/2018 21:17

Biscuit I just Love, love , love that Vespa jacket ( but sadly I'm 60 with biggish norks...otherwise I'd be all over it!) Do post a photo when you get it..

Ellapaella · 01/10/2018 21:19

@SillyLittleBiscuit love that jacket! Takes me back to my teenage days, I had a similar style one in dark green!
@Missbobbins I love your boots. Will be perfect with black or charcoal skinny jeans and would also look great with opaques and the ruched skirt.
Sorry to hear of dear pet woes. My beautiful black lab girl is currently lying spread out over my feet snoring her silly head off. She's honestly like my 4th child and I cannot imagine life without her.
It's funny how pets steal so much of your heart. Thanks to you all.

..I know what you mean Soy about spending too much because of other things going on .. Ive done that so much in the past.. But I have found myself getting carried away with 'Hush love' here also.. But one good thing s that now I have (partially) retired , I am really having to think about what I really will wear for my 'new' life..

It seems that my love of jeans/minis/ T's /big jumpers/ checked shirts/ biker boots definitely isn't diminishing even though I'm 60 !! (I am Q pleased about that) .. Who cares if its MN' age appropriate'. (there are so many people on S&B telling you that its not the done thing I've found) I shall keep getting a Pixie cut and a/white blonde dye also .. hand me that Rock n Roll T Grin

Laska5772 · 01/10/2018 22:03

...I just Love a checked shirt.. Grin

Ellapaella · 01/10/2018 22:04

Laska5772 · 01/10/2018 22:07

oh and opaques/ leggings to wear with those minis of course..

GinandGingerBeer · 01/10/2018 22:57

@SillyLittleBiscuit I just love that bomber jacket, somehow it's passed me by, but it's gorgeous. Can't afford it at the moment though.

Wow that next skirt is very similar to the hush one, although I do prefer the various tones in the hush version I think.

We lost our dcat last year, just as we landed in the US, the vet called to say he'd rapidly deteriorated and I miss him loads. He was bonkers! Always climbing up the chimney or along the top edge of the sash windows 😂
