Insomnia sucks. I woke up in a lather last night thinking we had buried my FiL while he was still alive. Was horrible and just couldn’t sleep afterwards.

ilovecherries · 01/10/2018 12:40

Yes, it’s easier for me to be ruthless, I think, as I’m getting rid of things that are far too big. Would be harder if they were things I liked and fitted me, but I just don’t wear a lot.

Laska5772 · 01/10/2018 13:01

Im having cat /neighbour problems.. My cat keeps getting into her house ( though I think she has encouraged it in the past). She rang me at 6am this morning to complain that he had been in at 3am eating her cats food, keeping them all awake and 'terrorising' her 3 cats .

Hes 14 diabetic no teeth, and really good natured , but yes he does seems to be raiding peoples houses.. Trouble is I dont really think I can keep him in all the time , he has always been an outdoor cat..

He's out again now . I bet hes round there again..

He lost his 'dont feed me collar' a few days ago .. Today she said she had it and then left it on her front fence for me to collect. It still looked totally pristine and didn't look like it had snagged on anything. im wondering if she took it off him.

.Ive never met her, She doesnt answer the door and they are the 'difficult family' in the road .

Quite frankly its making me anxious.... but if hes being difficult and wont have any quality of life if i have to shut him up, I'm worried that the only answer is pts.. Sad

I'm probably overthinking all this as I too was awake at 3am..

Laska5772 · 01/10/2018 13:03

actually I'm sure i'm overthinking this ..perhaps i should h just try and get a some more sleep..

carr1e1977 · 01/10/2018 13:22

Laska if someone had phoned me at 6am, they had better hide for a very long time AngryGrin

Suggest she gets a cat flap with a sensor so it only allows her cats in, otherwise tough, not a lot you can do about it! X

CocteauTwin · 01/10/2018 13:23

Hi Laska, I would be very interested in buying your Hush leopard bag. I coveted it for ages, hoping it would go into the sale....but it sold out before it did. Please let me know how much you are looking for it :)

Laska5772 · 01/10/2018 13:33

cocteau Im still thinking about whether I am selling or not, i love it actually.. but am looking at my stuff with critical eye.. ,, ( sorry dont mean to be a tease) ..But if i do ill pm you first Smile

Laska5772 · 01/10/2018 13:36

carrie we get cats in ours at night also.. and we have a flap with a sensor.. next doors cat has learnt that if he bashes it hard enough it rebounds and then he gets his paw under and hooks it up! (little shyster!)

ilovecherries · 01/10/2018 13:43

Poor cat. I do find it hard to come to terms with cats’ right to roam, but accept it’s the reality. I am not a cat person, never have been, it’s always dogs. My husband is hugely allergic to cats - not just a few sneezes but a full blown allergic response. There is a cat that more or less lives in our garden in therented house. It belongs to the people three doors down. It terrorises and hisses at my poor old blind dog when she goes out for a pee. The worst thing is though it can get in anywhere - the little hopper windows are no trouble to it. In the summer when I was forced to open windows right through the house (try only to do it for the room I’m in most of the time, because of said cat) it set up home on the sofa. I turned it out and never even thought to mention it to DH till he was wheezing and swelling up on the sofa. We had to get people in the next day to do a professional steam clean of sofa and carpets. I went to the people, rather hoping they’d at least offer to pay 50% and their response was ‘tough, the cat has a legal right, you will just need to keep your windows closed’. Angry. I was fuming to use that popular MN expression Grin. But if your weird neighbour has three cats herself, she clearly IS a cat person, so it seems an undue fuss. And downright daft to have an open flap, surely any cat could get in, not just yours. But it is horrible when you feel the neighbours are hating on your pet.

Laska5772 · 01/10/2018 14:01

Yup there's cat people and dog people ! .

Its down to a few things,

Cat thinks hes hungry all the time because he's diabetic, even though he is getting lots of food ,
Cat is used to roaming and has done for 14 years. but afaiks hasnt made trouble before he got ill. I dont know how long this neighbour has been there , its one of 'those' high-turnover rented houses

Neighbour likes cats (has possibly encouraged him in) and keeps food down for her cats all the time, so hes learnt to go there .

I'm stressed about it all hate to see cat like this and hate that I cant do much about it , short of keeping him in all the time ( which really doesnt seem at all fair)

Hes back now and is sitting on my desk wanting food even though hes had lots this morning and its 4 hours to feeding time....then i'm faced with keeping him in so he doesnt annoy neighbour (if i let him out after feeding he'll be gone until morning)

Hmm

Laska5772 · 01/10/2018 14:03

.. anyway bck to clothes . Im off to post office to take back Hush jumper . and MV skirt ( which was nice , but ive spent far too much now)

ilovecherries · 01/10/2018 14:08

Talk me off the edge. This rock n roll needs to go back, doesn’t it? My days for grungy tee shirts are over. And I think the soft jersey top needs to go back as well? It’s too short (on me) to wear with leggings and a big baggy for wearing with trousers.

ilovecherries · 01/10/2018 14:10

And yes, the constant hunger is very wearing. Dog was on steroids for quite a while, and she couldn’t focus on anything but food, I hated it. Now she’s on a (hugely bloody expensive not covered by insurance) non steroidal immuno suppressant and she’s much happier. It’s worth to see her more relaxed, but it was ghastly before, I feel your pain with that one

SoyYo · 01/10/2018 14:19

I feel for you laska having been there with our poor diabetic cat (as you well know) feel free to pm me for moral support. Our old boy was also an outdoor cat towards the end he got confused and used to go to houses he’d never been to before... never found out why but suspect his nervous system was on the way out by then...there again he’d been on insulin for 3 years+ and was 18 years old Sad anyway try not to stress it’s a difficult one and your neighbour sounds like a right *hole.

cherries I like the RocknRoll T best and don’t ask me if your grunge days are over, I’m the last person to ask! Grin 🤟

GinandGingerBeer · 01/10/2018 16:00

Honestly @laska your neighbour is being ridiculous. When my next door neighbours cat was getting in and terrorising our cats and eating their food I did what any reasonable person would do and got a micro chip flap and shifted the food 🤷🏻‍♀️
Don't even contemplate having your dear cat pts because your neighbour's an idiot.
Have the neighbour pts instead WinkThanks

dontcallmelen · 01/10/2018 16:59

Lol at Gin that would be my attitude as well, Laska I really feel you awful stressing about something in the early hours & tbh not a great deal you can do about the situation.
Cherries I like the t shirt, never to old for anything is my mantra.
Soy welcome back sounds as though you had a fab & well needed holiday hope work doesn’t stress you out too much, now you are back & stay healthy.

dontcallmelen · 01/10/2018 17:02

I’m going out to proper real life shops on Wednesday, need to see stuff in RL bit fed up with the amount of stuff I have had to return lately going to make a list of what I really need & stick to it

Missbobbins · 01/10/2018 18:44

Ok girls - you have inspired me in the past - honest opinions please? What do you think of these?
I am not sure about them... are they just a bit too try hard? 😘

Missbobbins · 01/10/2018 18:48

Not with my M&S leggings I just add! 😂

Missbobbins · 01/10/2018 18:48

Agh! Must! X

Laska5772 · 01/10/2018 19:33

Thanks for your nice responses. What was it I was saying yesterday about being on an even keel (tempting fate!). I have felt upset all day today.. Not got much inner resilience after all. Cat is in now and ill be keeping him in all night from now on if I can..

He has chose that particular house of all others as its one where the occupiers do have a bit of a 'reputation' for causing a bit of neighbourhood friction.. but that neither here not there , if he is terrorising, but just a shame that of all the houses he has chosen that one . (I actually dont know them so that may be a bit harsh but it s like the 'secret' house , you never see them, only hear them. She wont answer the door to me either.. ) So not ideal to try and ask her to put I a chip cat flap or even chase him out . Anyway there it is..

ilovecherries · 01/10/2018 19:40

Oh laska. :(. Feel for you and poor confused cat.

dontcallmelen · 01/10/2018 19:41

Laska💐🍷

Laska5772 · 01/10/2018 19:47

Cat is fine cherries its just me! What i meant was its really annoying that of all the ones he could have he has chosen the 'difficult neighbours' house of all the others. (you know the loud parties/ obnoxious ones) . But even so despite that i can see their point .. like you said with your cat problem above its hard when a free range cat comes calling.. We get out next dooor neighbours one in a lot anyway .. just chase him out..
Neighbour cat has twice has eaten lamb chops as they were defrosting and another time an unattended (cooked partly carved) leg of lamb (he likes lamb obvs) whilst we were in the dining room eating the rest ! but hes a cat ,that's what they do and we shouldnt have left it out with the door open . I didnt blame the neighbour .. ..

Laska5772 · 01/10/2018 19:49
