Which jacket is that never?

Talisin · 27/09/2018 13:44

Oh dear. The minute I post about buying the velvet trousers everyone else posts to say they’re terrible quality and too short! Oh well, looks like they’ll be going straight back when they arrive then.

neveradullmoment99 · 27/09/2018 13:54

This one @laska
The shelley Blazer.

neveradullmoment99 · 27/09/2018 13:56

Its got such an unusual collar. I think it looks good casual or smart casual. A very useful item and I don't really do smart for work or home but because it is longer, its less like a suit jacket. What do you think?

neveradullmoment99 · 27/09/2018 13:58

I don't have any black jackets or coats. Maybe a coat would be better though on reflection. I do really like it. Going to do my returns tomorrow. Still to return the zebra skirt so need to do that too. I have time to mull it over.

Laska5772 · 27/09/2018 14:17

Yes I like it,Never Classic. The collar is nice.. but yes it all adds up ££ which is why I'm trying to be ruthless with stuff,if its not quite right -such as the Boden trainers , which are lovely.. but are quite hard to get on - then return . (I will try then on again and then finally decide today) ,

You can return to Brand Alley according to my dispatch note for the Hush stuff but they say if you use their returns service its £3.50 deducted from your order (so I hope those Ash trainers are good)

So ..Jacket ..lovely as it is I think you need to decide if / where and when you may actually wear it and how often , and if nothing strikes you as a definite opportunity then return. .. Did you wear the flowered jackets you bought in the spring? (heck, that sounds sensible, I'm not so much with giving advice to myself!)

neveradullmoment99 · 27/09/2018 14:23

I did wear them but because they were flowery, very often they didn't match either colourwise or pattern. I still have them and still love them though. Surprisingly, I wore the jade one more! So strange. I will give it some thought though. I think tbh, I would wear it anytime. like today but have already been out with my olive coat so will wear that when I go out on the school run in about 10 minutes.

Ellapaella · 27/09/2018 14:53

I like the jumper @neveradullmoment99 - looks great. Love the loafers and the blazer too.
I have been shopping for a birthday present for a friend this morning and popped into a local clothes boutique which sells independent labels. There was some absolutely beautiful knitwear by Sugar Boutique/Sugarhill?? Something like that. And lovely knitwear from Ichi.
I wish I had endless money to spend on clothes but I'm always putting aside for Christmas fro September. We have loads of family birthdays in December as I have a couple of trips away with friends and a a family break to save for.
Sigh....
I did buy a gorgeous quality black sparkly jumper though by a Spanish brand and I got a lovely blazer from H & M today which I ordered a few days ago.
Never what are you keeping from your order?

OP posts:
neveradullmoment99 · 27/09/2018 14:56

Just the jumper and like the blazer but not sure as both are £££. I may return the blazer for now and re order later or take my chances in the sale. Out if the two, what do you think?

neveradullmoment99 · 27/09/2018 14:57

Brand alley jeans and jumper are nice but im dont love either.

Ellapaella · 27/09/2018 15:28

Ooh I don't know.. if you already have a blazer then keep the jumper. The jumper is very nice, colourful and a bit different. I'm hopeless at decisions! I think you'd get a similar good blazer a bit cheaper elsewhere, where as the jumper is more unusual.

OP posts:
neveradullmoment99 · 27/09/2018 15:33

I agree :) Thanks. I will mull it over but will probably return the blazer for now.

Ellapaella · 27/09/2018 16:01

Nowhere near as nice as the Hush one but this is my H & M blazer I got today - £24.99.
I like the longer length, it's kind of dark grey with black flecks if that makes sense.

It looks very nice Ella. For the price its very good. Still debating it and having a look around the internet. I like the flecks in it. I was kind of looking for black though as I always think it can looks smart as well as casual and goes with everything!

neveradullmoment99 · 27/09/2018 16:12

Ooooh I think they have black on their website. Is it thick? thin? warm?

Is this it?

neveradullmoment99 · 27/09/2018 16:14

I love the herringbone one. Its lovely. Is it true to size? I would like it loose and I have hips. What size do you recommend? I am a 12.

Ellapaella · 27/09/2018 16:23

Yes that's the one never. I would say it's true to size, I'm a 10 and that's a 10 I'm wearing. It's not tight at all, plenty of room.

OP posts:
Ellapaella · 27/09/2018 16:24

It's not thick - I'd say it would be a cardigan alternative. So you could wear at work or round the house etc but not as an overcoat in cold weather.

Ella I have a local shop that sells sugarhill stuff, some of it’s really nice & bit different, the blazer looks a really good buy.

neveradullmoment99 · 27/09/2018 18:02

@Talisan - The wide leg velvet trousers are 100% polyester. Really poor for the price imo. I liked the shape of them, but they were just a bit too short for my liking. If you have no tummy and a great waist, they may sit a little lower on you and give you the fit you want. All body shapes are different. I didn't like the fabric because in the past I have ordered cheap velvet things [ Miss Selfridge and boohoo] and that is the crappy fabric they have used - that overly shiny velvet. Whereas my boden velvet wide legs are a beautiful washed velvet. I got them on ebay so worth a look. I paid full price for my toast ones though. They are also similar in quality to the boden ones. They are all thick and super stretchy. The hush ones are thin imposters! but then maybe I am just spoilt from the quality of the other ones I have. Then again, the price is shocking for polyester and I am not convinced they wont shrink.

dontcallmelen · 27/09/2018 18:09

never I like the blazer on you, but maybe worth having a nose around see if anything a bit cheaper, but in way cost can even out if you are going to get a lot of use out of it.

neveradullmoment99 · 27/09/2018 18:14

I know melen and tbh, the quality is lovely and its a good sturdy fabric. I reckon when you look around there are plenty out there, but aren't the same heavy weight fabric. Its definitely a jacket and not a coatigan. I really like it but do you think it looks too formal? Or do you think its ok styled casually? I am not a formal person! But do smart casual.

Talisin · 27/09/2018 18:22

never I don’t necessarily mind polyester but I want them long (I’m 5’8) so that’s likely the deal breaker for me.

dontcallmelen · 27/09/2018 18:30

never I think it looks good styled with jeans/boots, I love a good jacket & usually wear mine that way & you can dress it up with smarter jeans top/shoes if a bit more ‘dressed’ up sounds like a good buy.

neveradullmoment99 · 27/09/2018 18:34

Thanks Melen Its always good to know others opinions.
Talisan . I have plenty polyester and most of it is from hush. I don't really mind it either and has come on as a fabric since the 70's. But the trousers are £75 and the fabric feels cheap to me. I agree that with your height, I reckon they will be too short. I think this style requires them to be quite long and at least covering over the top of your shoe. Did you see cherries picture. She is wearing them if you go back a few pages. She tried them on in JL today. She is 5ft 7 I think.
