I get so worked up about occasions I was the same abou Madonna i get obbsessed with not looking right. I think it stems from growing up in the 80’s up north. You had to have a new outfit every time you went out it was likecqn obbsession running around on a Friday night looking for somethi g new. I think its still in me!

@PrimalLass black dye is often not really black it's just a very dark shade of another colour

each the shape on both dresses is spot on with the v neck and shaped waist. I’m not sure about the paisley pattern on the first, you’d have to try as it could be overwhelming but the spotty one is a classic and would work so well with cardigans and jackets and on its own.

never yes I thought with the right styling (sans Star Wars would be a good start!) it could be lovely, it’s actuslly very floaty and has that 70’s vibe. BUT I know how rushed I’m when I travel with work, very early starts, I just wash and diffuse my curls, minimal makeup and go. Plus I prefer a small hand luggage as I have to carry laptop, etc so can’t be travelling with lots of different shoes/jackets. I’m also quite practical—lazy— so I need work clothes that have a casual smart vibe, a bit different and prints are fine in my work place, but also that I can put on and go with the same pair of boots and jackets I take in a particular trip.
Hard to explain. If I kept it just for business dinners/nights out it would get very little wear.
I think the skirts are a better bet.

Actually I plan each work trip wardrobe with precision. So I can wear a skirt twice with different tops/blouses, no more than 2 jackets (depends what season/colours I’ve chosen for a specific trip). In winter a smart long coat, in other seasons a light Mac.
Usually only 2 pairs of shoes: ankle boots or pointy flats which I wear while travelling too and kitten heels for evening/dinners.
Paris colleagues always look great and chic in a slightly dishevelled fashion, they wear a lot of leather jackets and always lovely shoes/scarves. I’m lucky although it’s a big global Corp I’m not shoehorned into boring suits, super formal work wear.
The Madrid event is a global one so we’ll see colleagues from the US, India, North Africa, China, Latam and from all the European countries.
It’s quite entertaining people watching.
The American girls are always the most “corporate” and immaculately groomed, high high heels. I feel a bit sorry for them

Sounds a very practical choice. I have the zebra skirt and love it cause its unsual. I will most likely at some point purchase the other one but not right now. Im done with spending atm.

each the full price Boden dresses are ridiculously high, but a couple that are in the sale and might suit you

I also really like this shirt dress, easy to glam up or dress down. Just not sure when the pub do is but you could get away with it till late Sept as it’s a summer dress

Not sure if it’s the kind of thing you’d feel comfortable in because as we all know if you don’t feel like “you” it doesn’t matter how nice it looks on. I’m purely going for wrap dresses with a v neck or shirt dresses with a belt as I think you’d look good in them

I think you’ve got narrow hips and great legs and can easily (like me) carry off a busy print and look fab, a bit different. Would be great with flats or kitten heels

@ellapaella the bathroom doesn’t sparkle what you need is a Lakeland grout brush. They are like a mahoosive toothbrush and really sort out the manky bits.

Soyyo I like the dress but like everyone else prefer with a jacket which makes me think the skirt might work better.

And was it MissFliss who had the climbers? I have short hair and feel like pat butcher in earrings but adore those. I might need them...

each thinking about the skirt if you would prefer a skirt rather than a dress then you could try the Hush Meghan (zebra or flower print) with the 10% off till tomorrow it’s only £15 more than the Boden sale one and definitely a more “all seasons” skirt

Just got round to trying on my order, I LOVE everything! So all of it is hanging up in my wardrobe ready for the cooler weather (it’s been warm and sunny again here the past few days). Im now trying to decide if I “need” to order another wide jersey top (maybe charcoal) as I love the black v neck and also maybe a necklace after seeing one posted further up the thread before the 10% code expires?!

@Eachand, aww it will get better it’s still early days in your recovery your body has been through such a lot, I’m sure you will find something fabulous, definitely have a look at boden I know some off it’s a bit strange, but they do have some good stuff as well, also have a look at Debenhams they have some good discounts as well.💐

Maybe a Boden silk shirt, they are reduced at the moment Soy has them & are lovely, would also look good with some navy or black cigarette trousers.

No it’s more of a proper shirt, Soy had one in lipstick pink I think, sorry I can link at the moment, am trying to get dgd to go to sleep & internet keeps going silly upstairs.

Also I got some fab cigarette high waisted cigarette trousers in top shop last week £22.00

Its quite a 'fussy' skirt at the front. I would keep the top half plain. A kind of t-shirt in one of the colours of the skirt but maybe in a silky or viscose material. When I wear the zebra skirt, I keep the top half plain. A fine knit would also work.

In fact, I have worn my wide jersey black top with the zebra skirt.

Sorry Each I’m at crossed wires, I thought you meant a top to go with one of the boden skirts Soy linked too(green &pink) that’s why I thought of a silk shirt, but yy if the hush skirt then definitely something plainer on top, possibly a fine knit.
