Maxima could smuggle her out in one of her sleeves or a cape dress

William and Kate attended a wedding yesterday. Blue coat dress, yawn, but I guess she didn't want to draw attention to herself and detract from the bride.

I like her headpiece!

I love her outfit! Why the yawn? William looks so miserable and is ageing badly.

I'm just not really into the coat dress look, I find it a tad matronly, but she loves it so hey ho! Lovely colour on her though.

That's a terrible picture of William, isn't it? Hard to believe he used to be the spit of Diana and looked like this not that long ago. He's becoming more like his father as he ages, whereas Harry is actually better-looking now than he was in his twenties.

I hope not too @beanaseireann but even if the specifics aren't true, I'm pretty sure that the atmosphere surrounding the imperial court is toxic and has contributed to Masako's ill-health.

The dress & coat is very Kate.
The headband thing looks like something from the pound shop.
I just think she is majorly uninterested in fashion.

I don't think she's that interested in fashion - although I'm not really sure what that means when I think about it - but I think she's good at selecting safe, appropriate outfits that suit the occasion.

beanaseireann (great name!) Harry is also going very very thin these days. Maybe they could share an extra large bottle.

Kate is definitely not that into clothes so why she did that Vogue cover I really don't know. She didn't want to be "dressed as a fashion plate" so she wore a selection of Bretons and Barbours, which would've been fine for a shoot in Town & Country or Horse & Hound but not frickin' Vogue! Such a wasted opportunity to showcase some amazing outfits by British designers.

QueenOfTheAndals I couldn't agree more about that Vogue shoot. A good opportunity to showcase British designers. Those Hanovers don't age well, the exception bring Harry, who has grown into his looks, it also helps that he's clearly very happy. The Cambridges guard their privacy, but they do need to get out there a bit more, imo.

Actually that hairband on Kate (which she also spotted at Louis' christening) is reminiscent of the headgear favoured by the Queen Mum, back in the day!

I love those hairband hats. I think they are far more elegant than fascinators.

That coat dress looks so dated. Horrendous. Agree about the lovely earrings. Wonder if there are any pics of the bride anywhere.

The bride has an interesting sense of style. I like the maxi dress she wore to Harry's wedding (in that People link), it was quite unusual.

Not keen on the coat dress either, it's become her uniform a bit. The head band reminds me of styles they had in the fifties, it's quite pretty. She has wardrobes full of lovely day dresses. Any one of those with a little jacket would have looked better.

To be fair to her in her 'safe' choices, she's got 3 kids and probably just has other things on her mind. I know she'll have help but given how close she seems to her dc, I don't doubt she still does a lot of the work. I just don't think high fashion is her priority. Horses for courses and all that.

I really like the cut of the coat dress, but it’s depressingly samey compared to everything else that she wears.

She still had a mum tum at Harry's wedding (of course. She's human and she had a baby like 3 weeks before). Wonder if she's still working it off and that fit and flare would flatter that.
God knows I wish I had her mum tum mind.

She's rumoured to be returning from her maternity leave next month.
