They won't be like Margaret and Andrew. They genuinely want to make a difference and will continue to engage in projects rather than openings and dinners. They'll support the monarchy, but neither would try to overshadow or profit from it.

QueenOfTheAndals · 21/09/2018 07:11

I think Harry is quite happy in the position he’s in - he carries out royal duties but also has time to dedicate to his own personal projects for causes he’s passionate about. I doubt he’d want to take his brother’s place!

You're right, QueenOfTheAndals, and now he's with Meghan, they can plan projects together. Neither of them will court the limelight for themselves and will enjoy privacy (in spite of what people say about M).

ISendNoComplimentsToYourMother · 21/09/2018 08:08

Yes I hadn’t thought of that. Too early in the morning for my brain to engage! Grin

lightonthewater · 21/09/2018 08:51

i must say, the event yesterday has really made me warm to M. Everything about that event seemed so genuine, heartfelt and a breath of fresh air. Not just cutting ribbons and making droning speeches, it was on a whole different level. Good on her for taking on such a great project so early on, and working on it away from the cameras . This is what the RF ought to be doing a lot more of. Great to see Doria there. Everything about the woman is pure class.

QueenOfTheAndals · 21/09/2018 09:38

I'm not actually a royalist but this photo almost brought a tear to my eye as I can remember the forlorn little boy walking behind his mother's coffin. Harry looks so happy and so proud of Meghan.

Agree Kate sounds like she is trying too hard. If she would just let people see the real her, see her making little mistakes, see her laugh out loud, they would warm to her more.! It is because she tries to be so perfect, when for example, a shoe heel gets stuck in the mud, the cameras pick up on it instead of picking up on her personality. There was a lovely clip shown yesterday where Harry was standing behind Meghan and her hair blew up around his face. He reached across to flatten her hair and she laughed. We want to see things like that.

Quantumblue · 21/09/2018 10:21

Yes, I have found this initiative a really good example of the kind of impact Meghan can have. And I loved the coat!

QueenOfTheAndals · 21/09/2018 13:09

@Jackietheduck The eyeroll is probably the only time I've seen Kate show a bit of spirit in public!

Yessss, Meg my girl that coat looks amazing! Fabulous colour.

And that food looks fab in that link too at that community centre.

delphguelph · 21/09/2018 13:14

Harry is one happy chappy, you can just tell he's thrilled to bits with our Meghan.

Jackietheduck · 21/09/2018 13:32

The eye roll yes and her engagement interview was very endearing as she appeared so vulnerable. I remember watching it and really feeling for her because she was so uncomfortable speaking in public, the same as most of us would be.

People want to see the person behind the perfect picture she presents whether she likes it or not. I think there is a lot of support for her but there would be a lot more if she loosened up.

RainbowsArePretty · 21/09/2018 17:33

Great pic Queen! Thank you for sharing. I had seen Meghan's speech and thought she was fab. But on my device I couldn't see Harry clearly so its lovely to see how proud he is of her.

courgettaspaghetta · 21/09/2018 19:07

Might have NC.

My child was until very recently at school with someone who has now started at a school where a grandchild of Princess Margaret might already be a pupil. The surname of someone might be the same as someone already mentioned on this thread over the past few days. And now that I look at him in greater detail, I see a resemblance.

If you guess who this is, please don't mention the surname, but if I see any photos of them at next year's wedding then I'll let you know!

And, you know, shhhhh 🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫

Clionba · 21/09/2018 19:34

What?

QueenOfTheAndals · 21/09/2018 19:49

Not exactly cryptic as I've figured out who it is! Wink I'm guessing they'll all be at Eugenie's wedding next month.

WipsGlitter · 21/09/2018 19:59

Huh?

QueenOfTheAndals · 21/09/2018 20:16

Princess Margaret has 4 grandkids, only 2 of them are still in school and only 1 of those 2 is a he.

At least I think that's what @courgettaspaghetta was hinting at!

OP posts:
QueenOfTheAndals · 21/09/2018 20:21

Wait no, I was thinking of Viscount Linley but he's 19 so would've left school by now. So back to square one!

OP posts:
CurlyWurlyTwirly · 21/09/2018 20:49

One of the Chatto boys?

WipsGlitter · 21/09/2018 20:53

Sophie and Frederick Windsor?

courgettaspaghetta · 21/09/2018 21:01

The "he" isn't a member of the RF yet.

WipsGlitter · 21/09/2018 21:07

Sorry. Totally lost! Confused

QueenOfTheAndals · 21/09/2018 21:08

So Gabriella or Eugenie's fiancé?

OP posts:
WipsGlitter · 21/09/2018 21:09

But sure they left school ages ago...
