Thank you for the article. Oh dear, I think I have something in my eye 😢😭

I'm going to namechange and then announce something a bit later on...

QueenOfTheAndals · 19/09/2018 19:34

You're going to tell us you're Kate aren't you @VanillaSugary?

Quite a lot of info on Meghan's work on the Grenfell cookbook here and on her upcoming engagements. Apparently Doria has been spotted on her way to London too.

Letizia's taken a leaf out of Max's book. You think it's a long dress but hey presto, it's a jumpsuit! Not my favourite look on her, I have to admit.

Thanks for the Article about Sophie Winkleman @Queen
Every time you hear stories about Prince Charles and the way he was with Doria, I think what an incredibly kind and thoughtful man he is.
And Sophie Wessex was the only one to visit. I love her even more!

Obviously Kate is not super close to them, even though George and Maud are in the same class.

Sophie Winkleman is a very brave lady and writes very eloquently.

QueenOfTheAndals · 20/09/2018 10:08

I wonder if Kate and William have a reputation within the royal family of keeping to themselves?

OP posts:
Cornwall73 · 20/09/2018 10:20

I think they look on to the Middletons a lot as a way of keeping it ‘normal’ and away from the RF dos and don’ts.

Jackietheduck · 20/09/2018 11:46

William will have to get over that if he is to ever become king. Can you imagine

King William will not be attending the trooping of the colours because he doesn’t feel like it. King William will not be attending the royal tea party because he doesn’t want to see anyone in his garden.

QueenOfTheAndals · 20/09/2018 12:08

Maybe he's just an introvert, although he'll have to try and overcome it. God knows HM doesn't strike me as the extroverted type (unlike her mum) but she's soldiered on for 70 years and can't ever be accused of shirking her duties! At this rate William will be an OAP by the time he's king so he needs to deal with it.

On another note, I bought the Grenfell cookbook today. All the recipes look delicious and Meghan's foreward is lovely.

I’m not sure William is an introvert. I listened to a radio interview that he did promoting the mental health campaign. He was very relaxed and chatty. Kate, on the other hand sounded like she was reading a script someone had just thrust into her hand a minute before they went on air.

MM18 · 20/09/2018 13:17

William has had a lot of privileges and been very lucky in his marriage and children, but he’s also had a lot of early trauma. I have a few friends who have lost a parent in adolescence and it has had a debilitating effect on their mental health at many key points in their life even if on the surface they appear to have coped magnificently. He’s now the same age as he was when his mother died. Anyone would struggle with the things he has seen and endured in his family pretty much all his life, and magnified and complicated by those ordeals always being in the public eye. I feel quite sad for the guy, even with his wealth and lovely young family.

QueenOfTheAndals · 20/09/2018 13:37

@Jackietheduck Yes, Kate never sounds natural - I think it's because she's desperately trying (and failing) to sound upper-class.

OP posts:
QueenOfTheAndals · 20/09/2018 13:50

Doria has joined Meghan for the book launch. That blue coat is gorgeous. She sounds very relaxed and natural during her speech too.

Jackietheduck · 20/09/2018 13:58

MM18. Yes it is sad they lost a parent at a young age. It’s sad for anyone and they had a big extended family to support them as well as a paid support. Many who shared the same experience (myself included) were not so lucky and it is wearying hearing and reading of W and H as if they were left to fend for themselves.

dinosaurkisses · 20/09/2018 14:26

She looks great in that blue coat!

I love how she dresses like a “normal” person- albeit one with an unlimited budget and incredible figure. That outfit wouldn’t look out of place on any high street in the uk.

Makes Kate’s Chignon+Coat Dress+Nude Heels combo look very dreary indeed.

MM18 · 20/09/2018 15:23

I hear you Jackie, and I’m sorry you have experienced this too.

William’s family money must have helped to obtain the best counselling. Although his extended family will have been part of the problem, not the solution, I think. No good role models for family life or fidelity to speak of.

QueenOfTheAndals · 20/09/2018 15:50

Some video footage from today's event. I think Harry may have made a faux pas by kissing the woman who welcomed them!

OP posts:
beanaseireann · 20/09/2018 16:04

Where is the blue coat from?
It's lovely.

QueenOfTheAndals · 20/09/2018 16:07

@beanaseireann Got £1000 to spare? It's by Smythe.

I usually hate womb-watch but the pleating of the skirt make her loom like she has a little bump.
I know that pleating will do that to he best of us though

Paradyning · 20/09/2018 16:12

Her mother looks beautiful. She has great shoes too!

evilharpy · 20/09/2018 16:14

Harry, bless him, looks so awkward in that video. Especially right at the end.

Loved Meghan's speech - she really is Kate's polar opposite in many ways. Also loved her outfit today. The blue was a great colour for her.

mathanxiety · 20/09/2018 16:36

Doria Raglan is the epitome of style and grace, imo.

mathanxiety · 20/09/2018 16:40

I must say I love that jumpsuity thing. The colour is excellent on Letizia, a muted navy.

I love the big lapels on Meghan's coat, and am thinking of ordering that cookbook.

QueenOfTheAndals · 20/09/2018 16:57

Interesting @Paradyning, but as you say it could just be the cut of the skirt. They're heading off on tour next month and apparently some of the places they're visiting have a zika warning in place. So I hope for her sake she isn't upduffed yet!
