Lovely colour dress on her, and would have been perfect without the ruffles...though in RL they probably made it a bit more interesting.

evilharpy · 07/09/2018 07:03

Maybe that dress is stunning in real life but it photographs terribly.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 07/09/2018 07:15

I don’t think she is pregnant, but is probably wearing camouflage clothes to keep people off the scent.

I don’t think any children of Harry will get royal titles. Prince Charles has always wanted to slim down the RF.
Beatrice & Eugenie are the equivalent of Princess Alexandra. Granddaughters of a monarch.
Sophie wessex’s children are not styled as Prince & Princess although they are entitled to be.

QueenOfTheAndals · 07/09/2018 07:35

Only Princess Alexandra actually carries out royal duties and is the patron of several organisations!

The blue colour of meghans dress is beautiful, but she needs to try a different neckline from all these boat necks and high lines she is wearing. I think a slight scoop would have been better. It makes her boobs look HUGE when they're not. Although she could be upduffed?

lightonthewater · 07/09/2018 09:33

Agree about the one hand pressed against the jacket Jackie. i think it's a nervous thing. Doesn't know where to put his hands. They all seem to do that, or clasp their hands behind their backs.

Harry is great at engaging with people, but when he's walking around generally he looks strained and unhappy I think. I also think Meghan looks strained last night when you look at her off guard when she isn't smiling and greeting. I don't think she's preggers - with a huge tour of Australia and NZ (?) coming up, they would wait till that is over, surely?

lightonthewater · 07/09/2018 09:34

Also don't think for a moment Harry would want his children to have titles.

Cornwall73 · 07/09/2018 09:54

I think the Wessexs were given the option of royal titles for the children and tuned them down?

beanaseireann · 07/09/2018 10:31

I think Megs would love titles for any children she has.

ajandjjmum · 07/09/2018 11:46

The Wessex children are entitled to use Prince/Princess title, but their parents chose not to use them.

Jackietheduck · 07/09/2018 12:08

I doubt Meghan and Harry would defer having kids if they want them as she is quite old as a first time mother., especially if they would like more than one. I was 36 having my first child and was told I was high risk given my age! I doubt any tour would come first.

QueenOfTheAndals · 07/09/2018 12:27

I was 37 but no one ever told me I was high risk! I think "higher risk" is more accurate wording.

Kate and Meghan will have to up their hat game to compete with Max!

Won't they just!

SenecaFalls · 07/09/2018 14:21

I really don't think that Harry and Meghan have any notion of downplaying the titles of their children. The biggest clue is that Harry accepted a royal dukedom.

Jackietheduck · 07/09/2018 16:14

Not at all. They all livero whine about their ‘royal duties’ but they want all the advantages it brings.

I’m unsure if true or not but I watched some tv adaptation about the aftermath of Dian’s death and the queen’s was portrayed about being extremely worried that the public would turn against the RF. They made decisions to help prevent this and are showcasing the ‘younger’ royals to aid public approval.

Jackietheduck · 07/09/2018 16:16
  • Apoligies for terrible typing in above post, too many mistakes to even attempt to correct but you get the gist hopefully.
SenecaFalls · 07/09/2018 16:23

After all, the yoke is going to fall on Charles not the younger generation. They ought to have a chance to enjoy their lives out of the limelight and do 'civilian ' jobs until Charles pops his clogs.

But the problem is that Charles and Camilla are already at retirement age. They may feel the need to slow down a bit as well. Charles has been performing royal duties since he was a teenager. So I think it is expected that his children and their wives, who are themselves nearing middle-age, would become more involved in public duties.

ajandjjmum · 07/09/2018 16:40

SenecaFalls
The Earl and Countess of Wessex accepted their titles on marriage, but still use Lord and Lady for their children, rather than the Prince/Princess titles they would be able to use.

I think the difference for the D and D of Sussex is that Harry is not the son of a reigning Monarch (as Edward is), so their children are not entitled to the Prince/Princess under current rules. When Charles is on the throne (if), I think this changes.

SenecaFalls · 07/09/2018 17:30

It will be interesting to see if Harry and Meghan follow the example of the Wessexes when Charles is king, or maybe Charles will issue new Letters Patent officially limiting HRH titles even further.

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 07/09/2018 18:29

No way will Meghan and Harry not want titles for their children.

SenecaFalls · 07/09/2018 19:00

They are guaranteed at minimum to have at least lord and lady as courtesy noble titles.

QueenOfTheAndals · 07/09/2018 21:25

Interesting piece on a 'Cold War' between Charles, Willian and Harry.

Not sure if this link will work..

neffall · 07/09/2018 21:58

Ah yes, it does. It's a particularly unattractive photo of Prince William looking 60 Shock

Interesting, and rather sad, article about the Cold War between the 3 Windsor men. I thought Charles was mellowing with age.

lightonthewater · 07/09/2018 22:18

I thought Harry and William had vigorously denied the truth of this article?
