Micro blading is this a disaster or not? (picture included)

So I went to get my eyebrows microbladed yesterday, after months of deliberation.
I was very clear that I wanted my eyebrows evened up as they were oddly shaped, and filled in ... I was very clear I didn't want really thick sluggy eyebrows.
I'm absolutely horrified by my eyebrows now, a day later and I want to cry! I feel ridiculous! they're so dark and they appear waaaaay too thick for my face - this is not what I wanted at all!!
Please can someone tell me they will go down and look normal again?! Has someone done a horrendous job on me or not.. been staring at them in the mirror for so long I really can't even tell any more.
The artist who did them was very experienced and apparently one of the best in the area!!
Please note I've got layers and layers Vasoline on them hence why they look so shiny in the future

Honestly, they look bold but striking to me, in a good way. I think you can pull them off.

They will be fine! I was like you and gutted for the first 48 hours afterwards, but they calm down massively once the pigment drops out with the scabs. I actually want mine darker now they have faded Grin

Wow you have beautiful eyes! Your eyebrows are fine - my main impression was your eyes, so they must be providing a great frame.

I think they are a bit dark, which will fade quickly, but beautiful shape. Really frame your eyes.

Do not as one person has advised rub lighter powder on your brows. You need to be meticulous with your after care for the first week. I had mine done and like you felt like i had 2 slugs in my forhead. They will soon fade. Mine didn't take so well and I had to go back for 2 edits after the initial touch up. Very expensive and regretted while thing but 18 months later and not having had a touch up since I miss the even brow look and am filling them in with pencil. Not sure if I want to go thru the expensive ordeal again though. Your brows are perfect shape and they will fade. Do not try to rub anything off them!!

Sorry, yes, disregard my suggestion. Didn't consider after care.Blush

Completely normal, even though my lady warned me I would wake up the next day and be all what have I done, I did exactly that, they will fade down hugely, you will find when they have healed and flaked that you will probably panic that they have disappeared but they kind of disappear and then come back, it is very bizarre, but as some else has said, do not put anything on them to lighten them, follow your aftercare to a tee and you will have fabulous brows.

I think your brows looked lovely before and needed no ‘enhancement’.

I know nothing about this process -is it easy to reverse?

IwankaTramp · 01/08/2018 11:51

IS THIS the thing that those with the ‘scouse brow’ do? I just thought they were overzealous with the brow pencil/template.

They are a fabulous shape - I love them. I agree that the colour will fade quickly. They really are lovely.

I think they will definitely settle as the days pass, and will look brilliant. The shape is fab, and I think your face can carry the heaviness tbh :)

They're not too thick at all. Your eyes are beautifully framed by them now. Your natural brows were fine but I think you suit the thicker ones much more. Love the shape.

Maybe a smidgen square at the ends but that'll be the dye and will soften soon. They are a bit too dark but I believe they fade after a few days. Haven't ever had them done or dyed myself but I've seen others who have and after a week or so the colour calms down.

Pat some translucent powder over them and brush off the excess. Should fade the colour slightly for now.

Otherwise I think they look really good.

So, sorry for my complete ignorance - is this a permanent or temporary thing? And what happens to your natural eyebrow growth now, do you just have to pluck them out?

It's good that they will fade a bit over time, but I'll be honest OP, they're not my cup of tea at all. Sorry...

Report
jarviscockerslover · 01/08/2018 12:25

It's just a temporary thing- lasts for 6months to 2 years apparently- not permanent like s regular tattoo.
I really just wanted to claw back as much time as I could in the mornings as I work ft with a 4 y/o - every minute counts!! My brows are really uneven due to over plucking so it was taking me about 10 mins each day to pencil in (the before pic is pencilled in btw, not my 'natural brow'

I think I'll need to wait until 7 days before I can tone down with powder or something as you can't really touch them for the first week.
Thanks for all the honest feedback good and bad! I hope they will become less square and sharp - I'm sure they will in time Smile

They look a bit dark and heavily filled in, but with microblading the initial result is never the final result. You skin will heal and peel and so you they might actually fade in a few weeks. I think you’ll have to go back for a initial top up soon, there you can mention that you definitely want a lighter colour and more natural look.

They will fade! I had mine microbladed earlier in the year and they were so dark so dark to begin with.

Have you booked for a top up appt at 6ish weeks??

Report
jarviscockerslover · 01/08/2018 12:34

Yep, booked the top up already for 6 weeks so I'll definitely feedback about a more natural look. Just wish right now I could fast forward a week or so!

Can I ask how much it costs (presuming this is the UK) I paid the equivalent of £490 for first treatment and this included the 4week top up. It costs the equivalent of £160 for edits or touch ups after that (recommended after 6 months) . I was seriously looking into getting them done again (I think I would have to start from scratch again as mine have practically faded) but it's just the expense and that immediate aftercare. I am training for a marathon and sweat is not good in first week.

jarviscockerslover · 01/08/2018 12:46

Actually I'm in Australia- the cost was $450 (£250 ish) and top up $100 (£55)- this is one of the more expensive brow bars as well.
Wow that's pretty crazy prices in the UK!!

They put numbing cream on beforehand and during the procedure but yeah, it kinda stung, Esp the first few cuts.I had tears in my eyes but definitely bearable. I shouldn't worry about that aspect though - it's really not that bad

Exactly as others have said - the're a great shape and they'll look totally natural in a couple of weeks. I was horrified when I saw mine the first time I had it done, and I'm still a bit embarrassed after each 'top up' when they look drawn on! But it's worth it when they've calmed down :-)

I get mine done in Scotland - it was £200 for the first one and only £60 for each top up. I go every 6 months.
