Micro blading is this a disaster or not? (picture included)

So I went to get my eyebrows microbladed yesterday, after months of deliberation.
I was very clear that I wanted my eyebrows evened up as they were oddly shaped, and filled in ... I was very clear I didn't want really thick sluggy eyebrows.
I'm absolutely horrified by my eyebrows now, a day later and I want to cry! I feel ridiculous! they're so dark and they appear waaaaay too thick for my face - this is not what I wanted at all!!
Please can someone tell me they will go down and look normal again?! Has someone done a horrendous job on me or not.. been staring at them in the mirror for so long I really can't even tell any more.
The artist who did them was very experienced and apparently one of the best in the area!!
Please note I've got layers and layers Vasoline on them hence why they look so shiny in the future

Natural eyebrows are not meant to be identical.

Don't panic! They look like that to start with. Once scabs come off and they settle down you will have a better idea - at least 2 weeks away. Eyebrows are sisters not twins is what my therapist told me !

@ohmmmnm
Yours don't look too bad on that picture! I can't even tell they have been microbladed. They look a bit uneven but most eyebrows do.
I can't see the blue/black colour in that photo either.

Don't panic!! I had exactly the same brows after getting them done a few months ago - after a week the very dark bits fall off leaving a much more subtle brow. Please please don't rub them or put anything on them!!!! If you're paranoid just wear big sunglasses for the week!

Ohmmm - yours really are ok, definitely don’t look like terrible ! I prefer the thinner shape. I also can’t see any blue / black?

Bits fall off? Scabs?
The whole process sounds revolting.

I think your brows are going to look absolutely smashing once they've calmed down a tiny bit, OP.

Ohmmmnm - I would swap eyebrows with you if I could! I don't think they are a disaster at all!

So I'm on day 3 now, things not really calmed down yet and my husband who is been away for work has just arrived home and is pissing himself laughing at me 😬

They are starting to eat a little bit but no sign of fading I've attached a picture for those interested....

By the way,
Just looking back at my photos and I realised in the 'before' photo my eyes look quite different and that's because I've got 'dream eyes' things in that are like tiny sticky things to lift your eyes (I've had saggy/ hooded eyes for ages)
Do you think my eyes look better with or without wearing these? You can notice in the second picture the eyelids kinda look like a little bits of plastic and a bit shiny...

They are a nice shape but they look very solid, like a block colour? I thought microblading gave you individual hair strokes for a defined but natural effect?

My friend has hers done with someone she follows on Instagram (don't know if I'm allowed to mention the name?). Her brows look so good because she has actual individual hair strokes. Also her new brows aren't perfectly symmetrical as the tattoo artist explained that no one has a perfectly symmetrical face so giving someone identical brows makes them look weird and mask like. I think it really helps that the tattooist first trained as a fine artist so has a better understanding of balance and composition. Rather than just a beauty therapist who just gives you stenciled on brows.

Bettyboohoo they look solid because they are healing, at the moment it's one big scab.

Jarvis you won't see any lightening until the scab falls off, and they will itch for several days and you will get attractive clumpy lumps of scab/dye sitting in your brow hair and you will yearn for the solid marker look days that went before 😂 and if like me you will then panic as they fade out almost completely and then they just reappear one morning, the healing is a complete rollercoaster but so worth it when they are done and healed.

The most impressive thing about the dream eyes before and after pictures is that as well as lifting the lids they completely changed the eye colour, skin tone face of the model!

Don't worry my mum's eyebrows looked the same for the first 2 weeks and then looked beautiful afterwards. I think they need to go strong with the dye or else it fades to nothing very quickly. She's given you a lovely shape (with a nice arch), although I personally think it's a little strong at towards the nose but it fits in with the current trend. You have naturally beautiful brows though, and I've always loved hooded eyes (I may be biased since my own are hooded Grin)

I’ve had mine microbladed (I had no brows at all) and looked fully Groucho Marx for a good few days.

My only concern with yours is the hair strokes look like they’re very close together, which might heal with a blocky look. Time will tell.
At least you have plenty of natural brow hairs to blend in with the tattoo.

@jarviscockerslover firstly, she has done a fab job, secondly they always look much darker when they have first been done!!

I have had mine done for a few years and they do fade. They normally follow your natural shape (is this it?!).

Important advice! I would lay off the vaseline. They need to dry out. When I get mine done I am given a teeny thimble of cream that I am instructed to dan on to my finger and then put my finger and thumb together to dab it so it goes on both. That’s the right amount - one for each eyebrow. I was also given a little bit of oil that you literally just dap on every now and then once it starts to itch - it will, don’t scratch. The colour will come away if you do. Really try to let it dry, it looks worse before it gets better.

The colour ones darker due to scanning, fades as it’s pushed deep into the skin and then comes back. You’ll need your touch up as sometimes the colour doesn’t stay. This should take place within eight weeks and then you’re done!

They looked better before.

I don't get this Groucho Marx eyebrow fashion thing.

Report
Haworthia · 03/08/2018 10:24

No, they don’t need to dry out. Having been microbladed and tattooed, the advice both times was not to let the tattoo get dry because that causes the scab to fall off prematurely, and when that happens you’ll get colour loss.

Equally, is it important to not overdo the ointment. Just a light covering twice a day for a week, and don’t get them wet either.

What happens to your real eyebrows? I mean the usual hair growth?

@haworthia I have test that back and yes I did say that. I meant that putting the layers of Vaseline on won’t let it dry out - keeps it too moist. So not dry out, dry out, but drier.

OP I've had my eyebrows microbladed twice. What you are seeing now is going to fade out A LOT. They will scab over & the scabs will drop off & you will be left with shading type effect. They look lovely & I don't think they are too much, I felt like you at first, it's because you are used to having sparse brows that's why the full ness feels a bit much. Honestly they will fade up quite a bit in the next week or so.
