Apparently it’s amazing, suits everyone, v flattering on all shapes, yadda yadda yadda. Sold out in about 3 seconds earlier this summer. I didn’t like it much but the power of advertising....

Well, they’ve brought out another version of it. This one here

Does anyone have it and is it really as good as they say? Help save

  1. me from returns
  2. my money or at least help me spend it wisely
  3. look like a tit

Wouldn't suit me as it would touch the floor if I tried it on!

54321blastoff · 23/07/2018 08:38

What the original one? Can you link to it?

HeyDolly · 23/07/2018 09:02

I think this was the original blastiff

It's the same shape/design as a dress H&M did last year (mine is navy with polka dots, but it came in other colours).

The problem is the elastic. On me, it rides up, so it goes all pouchy over my chest. If I pull the elastic down, the skirt of the dress then sticks out over my hips. And the poofy sleeves make me look like a quarterback.

I really must stick it on eBay...

Fatbelliedgirl · 23/07/2018 11:49

That would look hideous on me.

fearfultrill · 23/07/2018 11:51

Why oh why do shops put the models in shoes that do not match the dress at all. I'm sorry but that dress looks ridiculous with trainers, I want to see how it would look with footwear people would actually wear with it!

SwedishEdith · 23/07/2018 13:27

I'd wear it with trainers, definitely.

ItscalledaVulva · 23/07/2018 13:31

I would look like a spinster cousin in a period drama in that. And viscose in this heat, are you mad?

banivani · 23/07/2018 15:33

I think the trainers look good. Very Scandinavian style, a bit Monki.

BlueEyedWonder · 23/07/2018 15:54

Scratch the itch OP. Order to collect in store, try it on and return immediately if hideous.
I saw one of the similar previous designs of it on the sale rail in M&S. Their clothes drown me as I’m 5ft and a size 6/8. But the material felt cheap and flimsy and it looked like a rag on the hanger. I think there’s nicer dresses out there

Ididnthearanything · 23/07/2018 16:14

I ordered it last night.

In all honesty, deep in my soul Grin I think it'll be a return. I hate viscose and it would have to be amazing for me to get over this. But I do need to scratch the itch. Maybe it will be amazing. We'll see. I shall let you know. Picking up Wednesday.

I quite like it with trainers.

Do update us. I’m curious about it now.

banivani · 23/07/2018 18:38

Yay!

fiorentina · 23/07/2018 20:07

Two friends own the original and I think it suits them both. They are both slim and tallish.

funnylittlefloozie · 23/07/2018 20:19

THat is a fugly dress. However, if you like it, i hope it suits you.

caterpuller · 24/07/2018 08:32

I love it. I have the original leopard print one and the floral version both with the orangey red stripe. I get compliments every time I wear them. They look great with trainers or with ankle boots. How you style it really makes a difference.

MerryDeath · 24/07/2018 14:43

M&S PR people are all over insta placing their products as must have/sell out. buy stuff cos YOU like it and it suits YOU.

nipersvest · 24/07/2018 14:49

they're bringing out a jumpsuit version, darker colour, spots with a red stripe, in shops end of July. Can't find an image online but have seen it be sent to a few fashion instagrammers for PR purposes.

Ofitck · 24/07/2018 22:14

I bought it and it was awful on me. I have a fairly exaggerated size 10-12 hourglass figure and it was probably the least flattering thing I’ve ever put on. I also found the fabric cheap.

MulberryPeony · 24/07/2018 22:23

I love it (and the previous versions) but worry how overdone it is. Even though I’ve never seen anyone in real life wearing it! Holding out for the jumpsuit version though.

EnidButton · 24/07/2018 22:52

I like the waist bit. Similar size and height as you Ididnt and I think the held in waist is flattering. Not so sure about the high neck with my boobs and the puffy sleeves are a bit off. Don't hate it though which is a first for me and M&S. Gives me hope for their Autumn/winter stuff.

I really like the pumps with dress look. Lots of people around here (all ages) wear dresses like that. Don't like those trainers on the model though, the soles are weird.

If somewhere takes the pattern of that eBay dress and makes them with cotton, or even a cotton mix, I will buy 6 of them.

MakeTeaNotWar · 24/07/2018 22:58

I have the leopard print one and it looks fab! I'm 5' 4", size 12-14 and it's really flattering, slimming, has pockets! I get loads of compliments every time I wear it

EnidButton · 24/07/2018 23:00

Make Can't argue with pockets! What does the fabric feel like to touch though? Guess sweating isn't an issue as there's no fabric near armpits.

MakeTeaNotWar · 24/07/2018 23:02

@EnidButton the fabric is light to touch but not nasty, cheap. I am wearing it in this hot weather and haven't been sweaty

EnidButton · 25/07/2018 01:50

I'll try one out. Bloomin good price so worth the risk. Thank you Make Smile
