Spencer Wedding style

This was the wedding of the niece of Princess Diana; Celia McQuorquodale, whose mother is a Spencer.
I am not going to mention the most high profile female guest.
However I do like the frocks at a society wedding. I thought the mother of the bride Lady Sarah looked lovely. I think it gives us an idea of how the late Princess would have dressed.
Lady a Kitty looked great, although I thought floral print on her dress was over scale. I loved her hat.
Also lovely to see the Spencer Tiara on another bride.

Lady Sarah this week spoke up for two men that had been found guilty of grievous bodily harm. There's nothing lovely about her.

SamanthaBrique · 17/06/2018 16:20

The bride looks like Clare Balding! Which is no insult as Clare is great.

SheStoopsToConker · 17/06/2018 16:26

Karen Spencer has a great figure but that dress looks tight to the point of being uncomfortable!

user1457017537 · 17/06/2018 16:49

I love a stylish society wedding. However I am not a big fan if all these heavy floral fabrics. I know we are not mentioning you know who, but I did love the dress and hat. Unfortunately, you know who is tiny like all actresses, and said dress probably wonderful on a tall fashion model.

petrolpump28 · 17/06/2018 18:07

What is it about these fillies with their tiny little spindly legs?

somuchunanswered · 17/06/2018 18:21

Not the prettiest shoes on that little flower girl.

RoseWhiteTips · 17/06/2018 19:20

The bride does resemble Diana so much.

Juancornetto · 17/06/2018 19:31

@RoseWhiteTips I thought that! She does have a real look of Diana, I love seeing family resemblances crop up Smile

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 17/06/2018 19:32

Agree about you know who’s dress. Could tell from the sleeves and the fact she had to hitch it up that it would have suited someone 4 inches taller.
I liked the fascinator but not with the dress

"The bride does resemble Diana so much."

I thought so too. There is a strong family resemblance.

ggirl · 17/06/2018 19:39

who is the most high profile female guest. ?

noenergy · 17/06/2018 19:43

I also thought the bride has a resemblance to Diana

ggirl · 17/06/2018 19:45

s'ok I've figured out you're referring to another thread

AlbertaSimmons · 17/06/2018 19:51

I thought Lady Sarah looked a lot like Diana would have looked had she lived. And she's got GREAT legs. Celia's dress was beautiful. She-who-must-not-be-named was in Oscar de la Renta, which didn't really work on her small frame. Fab dress, but not right for her, she looked lovely in the outfit she wore for Trooping the Colour last week.

BorisHair · 17/06/2018 20:21

I thought that the Oscar de la Renta dress that 'you know who' wore swamped her. The sleeves looked too long and the cuffs were too big on such a petite frame. The dress was lovely but possibly not the best choice for her.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 17/06/2018 21:37

Yes I thought lady Sarah resembled Diana a lot. Diana would have been taller, blonder, more tanned and just jetted in from St Tropez, or Angola. Gosh the dynamic of the world stage would have been so different if she had lived. Hanging out with Michelle Obama, Nicole Kidman.
Unbelievable to think to think that Kate and Meghan are the same age as Diana when she died.

Anyway back to the wedding. Celia McQuorquodale has Diana’s smile!

It looked a lovely wedding. Lady Kitty Spencer is stunning.

QueenOfTheAndals · 17/06/2018 21:59

The bride has Diana's hairdo but that's about it. Agree with the PP upthread - she looks more like Clare Balding than Diana!

Also, which men found guilty of GBH @Bombardier25966?

JeezYouLoon · 17/06/2018 22:27

I wondered where Wills & Kate were, you'd have thought he'd have been at his cousins wedding too? Or have I missed something?

MM's dress looked like she'd done a 'Maria Von Trapp', the bride looked lovely though and very strong family resemblances.

HouseOfLynx · 17/06/2018 22:42

I think 'she who shall not be named' was trying to be understated for the bride's sake. She did it well.

ItsalmostSummer · 17/06/2018 22:44

I liked the bride. I thought she looked lovely and you can see her aunty in her (looks). I find it sad that it became all about Megs in the papers. There just no need.

2up2manydown · 17/06/2018 23:24

You know whose dress was beautiful - I loved it - on the hanger. It was totally wrong for her teeny frame and size and swamped her. Who on earth advises her on these things? It really can’t be hard to cobble together something smart and unshowy to stick on for a wedding- surely? A simple dress and jacket???

2up2manydown · 17/06/2018 23:27

Lady Kitty was just a teeny bit ott I thought. At both weddings she has looked not entirely all there - like it’s a work event for a fashion model and she’s being picked up and whizzed back to the atelier after the vows. Job done. Brand promoted successfully.

2up2manydown · 17/06/2018 23:27

The Spencer tiara is so beautiful...

2up2manydown · 17/06/2018 23:28

Apparently both of Diana’s sisters and all her nieces have worn it on their wedding days. The Earl “owns” it though.
