LED light treatment

montenuit · 15/06/2018 08:17

Yesterday i had a complimentary LED light session at the beauty salon.

OMG my skin - redness gone down, pores disappeared.

Am so tempted to do a course. So expensive though. Has anyone else used it? Is it worth it? How many do you need to do and how often for it to have a long term effect?

I've had a response from the seller, apparently it means the control box and USB cable are malfunctioning so they are going to investigate it for me (I'm not sure what that entails yet)

princesstiasmum · 07/07/2018 23:01

Oh thats good, i hope they will exchange it or let you know what you can do about it, i have not had any response yet,
Will popst if and when i do

princesstiasmum · 08/07/2018 13:27

bumhead Just looked at these masks on youtube.
There is a video called "how i treat melasma" it advises NOT to use the red, but the green and blue, and yellow,if the mask has it,is fine, mainly the green

bumhead · 09/07/2018 19:45

Thanks Princess that confirms it. am just using green and yellow but not noticing much change in my melasma yet BUT it's not even been a week so I will keep at it Grin
How are you getting on?

princesstiasmum · 09/07/2018 21:50

Hi bumhead when i have just used the mask my skin looks lovely, but back to normal a few hours later, time will tell
I hope its not another waste of money, someone on here recommended Promax ,a kind of radiofrequency treatment, had a few sessions, no difference at all.my daughter had it too, no difference with her either, complete waste of money
I do wonder sometimes if people recommending these kinds of things are connected with whatever it is
I hope the green light works for you, did you watch the video?
Apart from today i have used it morning and evening, last night i didnt as was decorating my kitchen and was too tired to bother, didnt use it this morning as had to go out, but will tonight
How long are you using it for at a time? i have used it for 20 minutes on red and 10 on green

HesterHare · 10/07/2018 07:55

I asked the seller if I should stop using my mask, they said it shouldn't be dangerous but would recommend I wait until they've sent me the replacement control box and USB cable.

UpperWallop · 10/07/2018 08:22

I've got a hand held version that helped my cystic acne so much. Keep meaning to buy one of the masks and this thread has prompted me to do so! Oh and I'm not connected in any way to any companies and am a long term member on mumsnet!

princesstiasmum · 10/07/2018 09:30

Upperwallop sorry not suggesting anyone here was, just some of these so called miracle creams etc, are often promoting themselves

Hester it does sound like where you got youir mask from is a reptable company, not heard anything back about mine

princesstiasmum · 10/07/2018 09:31

reputable

princesstiasmum · 10/07/2018 23:09

UpperWallop what is the hand held device you have got?
Acne isnt a problem for me,its the lines and wrinkles ,i need to get rid of lol

itsBritneyBeach · 10/07/2018 23:18

@UpperWallop also keen to know - I also struggle with cystic acne

UpperWallop · 11/07/2018 05:47

It's the lumie clear.

princesstiasmum · 11/07/2018 19:10

Thank you, UW has anyone found their skin feels very dry, since using the mask, i only felt it today, but always look glowing straight after using it

bumhead · 13/07/2018 12:20

Princess my skin feels dry afterwards.
I am still using it every day. It looks brighter after the yellow light

itsBritneyBeach · 13/07/2018 12:34

BumheadGrinGrin that is the funniest name ever. God I'm immature.

I haven't noticed much difference in my skin since using the mask but it's only been around a week - hopefully results will come soon

JMAngel1 · 13/07/2018 13:17

Is the purple light a mix of the red and blue? I've been doing 20 min red for skin lifting then 10 minute blue for acne - would 30 min purple do the dame thing but better?
yes, my skin a little drier than normal like it's sloughing off - so I've just stepped up my exfoliation and all good.

ParadiseLaundry · 13/07/2018 15:54

Oddly, my skin doesn't feel drier at all, in fact before using it when I was just using the benzoyl peroxide I found that that really dried by skin but since using the mask my skin hasn't really been dry at all.

I'm pleased to say my skin has continued improving and I went out wearing just B.B. cream today instead of thick layers of make up and foundation to cover my spots. I felt great Smile

I would highly recommend it to anyone who has acne.

JMAngel1 · 13/07/2018 17:04

that 's brilliant Paradise - do you just the blue?

itsBritneyBeach · 13/07/2018 18:05

@ParadiseLaundry please tell me what light you have and how long etc! My acne isn't improving :(

princesstiasmum · 13/07/2018 19:22

My daughter is so convinced that my skin has improved that she has just ordered one too, but i have a tan, and my skin always looks better with a tan anyway
She has got one with 7 lights
I have not used it for a couple of days as got company,so a bit awkward,

ParadiseLaundry · 14/07/2018 09:12

I have this mask go.mumsnet.com/?xs=1&id=470X1554755&url=www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01NANWGRK/ref=ohauidetailpageo08s00?psc=1&tag=mumsnetforum-21&ie=UTF8

It sometimes varies how long I wear it for depending on how much time I have but at the minute I'm doing

20 min blue
15 min green
15 min red

I use it every day with the occasional day off. Don't get me wrong, my skin isn't perfect now, but it has massively improved in all ways and I feel for the first time in a really long time when people meet my acne isn't the first thing they notice.

@itsBritneyBeach Fingers crossed you start seeing some results soon. Are you using or taking anything else to treat your acne?

itsBritneyBeach · 14/07/2018 09:52

@ParadiseLaundry thanks so much! I was on accutane but I can't go back on that as the side effects were so awful last time for me.

I use tea tree oil on spots but nothing medical at the moment!

ParadiseLaundry · 14/07/2018 10:41

@itsBritneyBeach I tried lymecyline for a few months and it made my stomach bloated and painful and gave me dreadful hangovers, which didn't work for me Grin so I know what you mean about nasty side effects. Have you tried benzoyl peroxide? I really do think that has helped me too.

itsBritneyBeach · 14/07/2018 13:02

@ParadiseLaundry yes I've tried it allGrin I'm just not cut out for it!! I was hoping the mask would be my miracle cure! It still could be...

Fluffycloudland77 · 14/07/2018 13:28

Paradise That's the one I've got.

I think it took 3 months till I saw the best results. Then I fucked it up using the ordinary vitamin c powder and I'm back to square one now.
