Be brutal and honest.

Too much skin for 48?

You look great! You're very toned, so show it off!

Timefortea99 · 22/04/2018 22:13

I wouldn’t say too much skin, just not flattering. The style, the pattern and the gaping around the armhole. Age is nothing to do with it.

SleepFreeZone · 22/04/2018 22:14

Nope. You have a lovely figure.

pinkhorse · 22/04/2018 22:16

It doesn't fit properly at the top. It looks baggy

Lobsterquadrille2 · 22/04/2018 22:16

Something doesn't sit right - yes, maybe the armhole, thank you. And I'm so untoned.

OP posts:
Scabetty · 22/04/2018 22:17

You look great.

RavenWings · 22/04/2018 22:18

I agree that the armhole doesn't fit, but otherwise I think it's nice.

Lobsterquadrille2 · 22/04/2018 22:21

I'm going to get it altered. I love the material. Thank you.

sweatylemon · 22/04/2018 22:25

You look wonderful!

Lobsterquadrille2 · 22/04/2018 22:27

Thank you - but you know that "I feel too old to wear this" feeling? I have it with a lot of things now. ☹️

OP posts:
ResurrectedGoldfish · 22/04/2018 22:32

It’s really nice, it’s bright and summery. I’d agree with what others have said about the armholes, but other than that, it’s awesome. More importantly, do you like it? Then go for it 😁😁

Lobsterquadrille2 · 22/04/2018 22:39

Thank you Goldfish - I do like it! I just don't want to embarrass my 20 year old DD tomorrow! 😀

As with most clothes - depends where you are going / what the occasion is.
I have stuff I'd wear on a holiday in a hot country, that I wouldn't wear to the office, for example.

Lobsterquadrille2 · 22/04/2018 22:43

Meeting student DD in London. I have awful knees and try not to show them. Nobody has commented on them so they're either polite or it's in my head.

OP posts:
RavenWings · 22/04/2018 23:20

I think it's in your head. I had to go back and look at the picture, they just look like regular knees to me!

Laonsn · 22/04/2018 23:41

You have a great figure.

I’m 33 and a size eight (trained fitness instructor and enjoy “working it” Wink) and I think the outfit still does seem a bit OTT and I wouldn’t wear it personally for a meetup in London?

It’s quite “done” with the high heeled shoes as well, and the amount of flesh it covers makes it more like a clubbing outfit, even though the print is summery? So maybe not best for a daytime meet.

I’d actually try sticking some light coloured leggings underneath or light blue jeans or (not sure if you have one?) a longer white or cream midi skirt would be great ? Then maybe some flat tan sandals?

JesusTapdancingChrist · 22/04/2018 23:46

Your knees are lovely.

Your figure is lovely and the very opposite of untoned so give your head a wobble on that front, lady.

Re: the outfit, I have to admit I don't think it's particularly flattering or stylish but how you feel in it is more important than the opinions of internet strangers.

WanderingTrolley1 · 22/04/2018 23:46

Too much skin, for my liking - also, it’s not going to be hot enough to wear that dress tomorrow!

SarahBeeney · 22/04/2018 23:47

Yes only top temp of 17 tomorrow so I don't think you'll be warm enough.
You do have a great figure though!

heyjude12 · 22/04/2018 23:50

You look amazing. Maybe flat converse style pumps might be better. I'm 48 and if I had your figure (and knees) I would definitely wear it

HabituallyOptimistic · 22/04/2018 23:50

I have spent the day shopping for a lovely summer dress and came home empty handed. If I had your figure and tried on that dress I would totally have bought it. I think you look great. And there is nothing wrong with your knees.

wakemeupbefore · 22/04/2018 23:51

Ghastly dress, you have marvellous figure, do it justice Grin

luckygirl322 · 23/04/2018 08:30

While I love it, and think it looks great on you-it’s appropriate for Florida or the Bahamas in summer, not London in April. You are going to stand out from the crowd, and not in a flattering way. Save it for summer. It’s much more a vacation or resort look.

SporkInTheToaster · 23/04/2018 08:39

I agree that you have the figure to carry it off but it is definitely a ‘holiday’ / beach dress for me. I’d wear with flat sandals too, rather than heels/wedges.

lljkk · 23/04/2018 08:41

Some older people have wobbly upper arms that they may not wish to show off.
Your upper arms look fine, OP. Go for it.
