Be brutal and honest.

Too much skin for 48?

It looks like a holiday dress to me. You have a fabulous figure but definitely too exposed for London in April. Layers are the way to go and flatter shoes if you plan on any walking. Have a great day!

Foreverthisyoung · 23/04/2018 08:46

Lovely for a holiday but In this country on an average day you could freeze to death.

Paintbox · 23/04/2018 10:31

YOu have a great figure and could do way better than that dress imo, it seems more like a hit destination holiday dress and I don’t really like the shape or colour. But if you like it then disregard my opinion!

AnyFucker · 23/04/2018 10:33

For foreign holidays, fine. I wouldn't wear it otherwise.

Nellyphants · 23/04/2018 10:37

I think it’s like a beach outfit. Or maybe a bbq in a hot day, I wouldn’t wear it in a city

IfNot · 23/04/2018 10:44

You'll freeze! So in that respect, yes too much skin! (Other than that please can i have your legs, ta).
Agree it's more beach resort than London.

Atalune · 23/04/2018 10:44

It looks like something you’d wear on a holiday. You’ll freeze tomorrow!

Nice jeans and a little top, blazer style jacket would looks so much chicer

Namethecat · 23/04/2018 10:52

The dress is too big for you. You have a lovely figure and why not show it off, but you asked us to be brutal - it's a dress that should be worn for things like outside parties, sitting in a pub garden, bbq's', holidays near the beach, not something to wear in a city ( unless its a Caribbean one )

Lobsterquadrille2 · 23/04/2018 11:03

Correct, I asked! Bought in Bermuda where I worked for 10 years. And freezing in thick tights today ...

OP the only thing I think you could perhaps change is your hair colour. It’s quite a bright blonde and maybe a warmed colour would be more flattering.

BadTasteFlump · 23/04/2018 11:22

Ok my brutally honest opinion is that you have a lovely figure but he dress isn't great - it is too big on top and looks more like a beach dress than a 'city/town' dress.

BadTasteFlump · 23/04/2018 11:23

Oops xposted with a gazillion other posters!

lostinjapan · 23/04/2018 11:30

I don't necessarily think it's 'too much skin' for 48, but I do think the dress itself is a bit young for 48. I mean I'm 30 and I think that dress is too young for me. But it just comes down to personal taste I guess.

It will be totally unsuitable to wear in London tomorrow though. It's forecast to be 15 degrees and raining.

Mulberrysilk · 23/04/2018 11:57

You have a great figure but it's a beach dress. Keep it for holidays.

isthismylifenow · 23/04/2018 12:07

Hi OP, I am also 48 and yes you have a lovely figure, but I wouldn't wear this dress to a lunch.. I would just feel a bit too mutton dressed as lamb. Sorry.

Annabelle4 · 23/04/2018 12:38

You have a fabulous figure, but I agree with the others that I wouldn't wear it to lunch in London in April.

I might wear it on a sun holiday, but I do find the colour a bit loud.

It's perfectly fine on you though, you certainly have the figure for it.

Full marks for the figure and tan, but can I be a bit mean like a previous poster and suggest that you think about toning down the hair colour? I know you didn't ask, but that's what instantly stood out to me. I think some nice blonde highlights and lowlights would look far more natural. Sorry OP Blush

Hoppinggreen · 23/04/2018 12:45

You have a lovely figure and the dress isn’t showing too much skin
However, I really don’t like the dress at all

BadTasteFlump · 23/04/2018 12:53

Can i just say I think it's a bit rude advising OP to change her hair colour when for all we know she's perfectly happy with it!

Annabelle4 · 23/04/2018 13:04

It was just a gentle suggestion Blush

If I posted a picture of myself on a public forum, I'd welcome all suggestions provided that the tone was kind

SleepFreeZone · 23/04/2018 13:05

I think everyone’s been really kind actually Confused

BadTasteFlump · 23/04/2018 13:16

Ha, maybe it's just me then Grin

Just that if I posted a selfie and asked what everybody thought of my dress, and the replies were 'not sure about your hair colour', I would be a bit gutted.

SleepFreeZone · 23/04/2018 13:19

I read the initial post differently I guess. The OP asked if she were showing ‘too much skin’ which I guess is a comment about the dress indirectly but also seemed to encompass her look generally.

Anyhow if I offended you OP, I’m sorry 💐💐

BennyTheBall · 23/04/2018 13:20

On holiday, it would be OK.

stevie69 · 23/04/2018 14:00

Too much skin? Pffft. I'm 51 and that's a maxi dress, compared to some of my stuff Blush

You look amazing Smile

Lobsterquadrille2 · 23/04/2018 14:16

All comments welcome! I didn't have any hair for a while so I suppose I've gone a bit overboard .... I'll bear in mind that it might be a bit bright!! 😀
