Be brutal and honest.

Too much skin for 48?
OP posts:
seventh · 24/04/2018 19:39

The dress is very badly fitting. You look great.

Littlechocola · 24/04/2018 19:42

I hope I look like you at 48! Absolutely stunning!

FWIW I had no idea that that isn’t your natural hair. You look beautiful!

Luxembourgmama · 24/04/2018 19:42

You look amazing the dress doesn't really do your figure justice though

StillMissV · 24/04/2018 19:48

My goodness I'd kill for your figure and I'm 32. And can I just say that you seem to have a lovely personality too. I hope you had a really lovely day in London - I love a wee London trip now and again, hope you went somewhere really lovely for lunch. Big love to you xx

CaptainBrickbeard · 24/04/2018 19:48

You look superb, OP. And so happy, which makes you look even more beautiful.

Jon66 · 24/04/2018 19:54

It depends upon what image you are trying to achieve. I wouldn't wear it with heels and full make up but would for the beach with nude skin and flat sandals or converse. Just doesnt shout style to me the way you hairstyles it. It also needs altering.

Jon66 · 24/04/2018 19:56

The way you style it, not hairstyle, where does this autocorrect come from . . .?

TheLuckyMrsPine · 24/04/2018 20:03

Have followed this thread from the start. You DO NOT look 48 Shock
You have an AMAZING figure. I don’t like the dress - think it’s a bit old fashioned but also think you would look phenomenal in so many things.

I can’t see what the issue with your hairpiece is Flowers whilst you wait for your hair to grow again.

LondonGin · 24/04/2018 20:07

You have an amazing figure!
That dress however... fine for a beach walk in morocco/ Spain. I’m not really a fan. It doesn’t do you justice. It doesn’t fit quite right.
I would never have guessed about your hair either!

jayho · 24/04/2018 20:14

Lobster, you are gorgeous and can wear what you want and have my complete admiration.

However, can we move on to a serious issue?

Is that a loo roll on your bathtub?ShockShockShockShockShockGrin

MyFavouritePlace · 24/04/2018 20:34

Agree with the others that it's more of a holiday dress but you look fabulous and young in it. Agree your smile makes you even lovelier.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 24/04/2018 20:45

If you want to wear the dress in the UK, you could try it with a denim jacket over and white trainers, maybe? It would keep it casual and tone it all down a little bit, if that is what you want.

But who cares what a load of random people on the internet say? Wear what you want!

And I can't remember who said that if they had a body like yours and had gone through chemo, they'd wear a bikini to Sainsbury's - excellent point!

zippyswife · 24/04/2018 20:59

Not a massive fan of the dress but your arms!!!! Now they are at thing of beauty. What a beautiful figure! At any age. I hope you have/had a lovely time in London.

Paintbox · 24/04/2018 21:03

OP your hair/hairpiece looks absolutely fine. The best thing about your photo us your lovely smile, please bring that back! Ignore the people commenting on your hair, hopefully they’ve learnt a lesson here

CountFosco · 24/04/2018 21:06

Lobster I've read several of your threads on here. You always look amazing and have a fantastic figure and lovely smile. You clearly have a close relationship with your daughter and so I'm glad to hear you had a lovely day with her. Give her a call and have a good chat to cheer yourself up and ignore the brutal comments on here.

As fas as the dress goes it gapes a bit at the boob so needs taking in so it fits you better. Like others I'd wear it with a denim jacket and Stan Smiths to make it look more contemporary.

Atalune · 24/04/2018 21:12

honestly, and seriously your blonde hair looks good!

People are idiots and have dumb ideas about what a 48 year old should be wearing. It’s STUPID. It comes from a place of fear and jealously on their part and is of NO reflection on you.

Wear your wig with PRIDE.

You clearly have a beautiful heart and would, so please please look in the mirror and shout- fuck em!

I have a green long bob with a heavy fringe wig which when I wear it I feel like a gazillion dollars! Want me to post a pic??

Don’t feel bad. Please. You have your health and your recovery and that’s so valuable. And lest face it a slamming body.

Atalune · 24/04/2018 21:12

octonaught · 24/04/2018 21:16

I’m 47. I think your figure is great & you have a lovely tan so definitely not too much skin.
However the dress itself, doesn’t fit well and the print is too “young”

Solid colour and better fitting. Perfect for a holiday frock.

Somersetter · 24/04/2018 21:34

You look amazing - so slim and toned and happy. I agree with a couple of other posters that the dress would be perfect with a denim jacket and some white Stan Smiths - or perhaps Supergas?

Don't let the negative comments get you down - they were very few and far between in any case! FlowersSmile

StormcloakNord · 24/04/2018 21:40

Lobster I'm so sorry if my comment on your hair hurt you or offended you.

I didn't read the full thread and I absolutely should have. I'm just too used to people putting photos on the internet and wanting full constructive criticism.

You look wonderful and it shouldn't matter what a bunch of strangers on the internet think.

BedtimeTea · 25/04/2018 04:13

Lobster , you look really good, please don't feel badly, your hair will be back, and with your cute face you could easily carry off a short pixie as it grows into a longer length again. I think the blonde hairpiece is nice on you, very perky looking. I would love to look like you!

Bettyfood · 25/04/2018 05:00

Certainly not too much flesh, and you look absolutely great in yourself. I didn't like the dress very much but you looked lovely in it.

I think these dresses would suit you:
