Can we have a “nice stuff at M&S” thread”?

It’s 20% off code this weekend so I’m off to get shoes and socks for DS, a couple of bras for me (they fit me well as long as I fend off any helpful attempts by their fitters to resize me into a 34AA) and some camisoles/vests to layer under stuff.

And possibly some crazy suede stilettos for work as well (they never leave the carpet and only have to walk for twenty yards at a time so I can go mad with height)
www.marksandspencer.com/leather-stiletto-heel-strap-court-shoes/p/p60143557?carousel=FUNH_RR_REFER. And I need a few basic jumpers as well.

On the grounds that M&S are a nice enough British owned company who pay their taxes and AFAIK have decent working conditions, and the high street is having a tough time at the moment, is anyone up to the challenge of suggesting other hidden gems that would be a good buy with the discount code?

I have just ordered an Autograph cashmere jumper with the discount code, plus I had a gift card, I am just trying to work out how to do a link.

Thiscantreallybehappening · 02/03/2018 09:45

Think I have managed to do it.

I have been pondering over this jumper for a while, what do you think?

Footle · 02/03/2018 09:47

Where do you get the discount code?

Didiusfalco · 02/03/2018 09:55

Ive got a code if you want one footle - came through the post.

I like those shoes op.

No particular recommendation for clothes, but I am getting some heatgen stuff and a rhubarb candle - these are fantastic for how much they cost.

haba · 02/03/2018 09:58

I have completely given up on M&S- even the food had declined so much with cost cutting, so I don't even pop in for food any more.

Who are they trying appeal to?

whyhastherumgone · 02/03/2018 10:03

I really like their stretch skinny jeans. They do them in some great colours for summer.
They're got some nice coloured leather bags at the moment.

Not clothes, but their Ultimate Sleep Cream is also amazing.

MrsSchadenfreude · 02/03/2018 10:04

I’d like a code please. Smile

I still think their shoes are good. And DD1 has a knack of finding really nice stuff among the dross.

whyhastherumgone · 02/03/2018 10:06

Just realised I have a £30 gift card for there actually, now off to see if I can find a code so I can do some shopping from inside my toasty house on this bleak day Grin

domesticslattern · 02/03/2018 10:08

I'm finding the cashmere sweaters good quality and not bobbling, though worth sizing up. Hope you enjoy your sweater thiscant

olympicsrock · 02/03/2018 10:12

Their shoes and jewellery are fab at the moment. I also bought a little black and white jacket that is comfortable and slightly stretchy and washable - perfect to smarten up the jersey dresses I wear for work.

whyhastherumgone · 02/03/2018 10:16

ooh do you have a link @olympicsrock that sounds exactly what I've been looking for for a while - the stretch being the key element!

MoorMummy · 02/03/2018 10:19

I got a lovely stretch body suit like a leotard last week,,it’s so nice I’ve ordered another.

CallarMorvern · 02/03/2018 10:19

Still love their shoes. All DD's uniform bar tights comes from there, as it's the only high street retailer who keeps it in stock, where we live and it's decent quality. Had a brief run with Tesco school shirts and the child refuses to wear them because they itch.
I like to treat myself to an occasional salad out of the sandwich fridge.
Their no VPL big knickers are great for sport and it's also the only place that I can get cross back sports bras that fit my long torso.
The jeans don't fit me properly and so many of their T-shirts have funny elbow length sleeves.
Homeware is nice, I have my eye on some nice mugs, that aren't too pricey.

I actually love M&S, it helps that we have a lovely local one. If I had more money, I would try more of their clothes, but can't generally afford.

CountFosco · 02/03/2018 10:25

The D ring trainers are nice and I'm hankering after the patent flatform shoes as well. The cashmere is good, there's some OK silk shirts and shirt dresses that are SFW.

CountFosco · 02/03/2018 10:26

I quite like their jeans as well. I search on the website for fabric so I can pull up, e.g. all the cotton rich trousers. Otherwise there's too much polyester.

Bejazzled · 02/03/2018 10:27

I got a pair of thicker material chinos with a slight camo pattern through them. A nice slim cut without being skinny

ivehadtonamechangeforthis · 02/03/2018 10:27

Their party food to order sandwich platters! Always good, I used to LOVE a lemon and sultana cheesecake wedge they did but they don't do it anymore.

WellTidy · 02/03/2018 10:30

I've bought a new coat for ds2, thermal school socks for both DSs (which are fantastic. I buy them for myself in kids size 4-7 and they are super warm and comfortable), pants for both DSs, the pyjamas that come in packs for DS1 as they tumble dry and don't need ironing, and some jeans for me.

hurrythefuckupgeorge · 02/03/2018 10:31

I love M and S, if anyone has a spare code I would be eternally grateful.

I really rate their shoes as they are comfy and last well. I also got a striped cashmere jumper before christmas which is going strong.

Thiscantreallybehappening · 02/03/2018 10:33

[hurry] I will send you the code.

I have 6 codes so if anyone wants them let me know.

If anyone has a sparks card, the 20% discount will be in your offers.

Parker231 · 02/03/2018 10:38

I have the 20% discount and have £200 in gift vouchers but can’t find anything I like. I can see me using the gift vouchers on stocking the freezer.

I’ve totally given up on M&S - I’m surprised it’s clothing is still a part of their business. It’s only the food from stopping it going bust.

Thiscantreallybehappening · 02/03/2018 10:38

You can use the codes multiple times in store, but online each code is single use.

If the 20% is on your Sparks card you can use it multiple times online and instore

newdocket · 02/03/2018 10:39

oooh, I'd love a code if there are any left?!

MrsSchadenfreude · 02/03/2018 10:39

Sparks card are only offering me 20% off tenderstem broccoli, so yes please for a code!

Thiscantreallybehappening · 02/03/2018 10:40
