Mine is super early this year, I got a great one last year from this board. Personally I prefer sleeves (not a fan of my arms)
Seen anything good?

I can't do tight cos of the mum tum so was a bit stumped. I also really really really didn't want to buy something I wouldn't be able to use for other occasions, so I was looking for something not especially Christmassy or too glam but would pass muster at a Christmas party, if you know what I mean.

I think I've found it! New Look, of all places.

The back. There's a silver thread running through it and it's V floaty so you can get away with it for evening, but I'm hoping it'll look nice in the pub with a leather biker jacket and ankle boots too.

Good on the mum tum. In fact I'm also ordering a size down at the moment as I may be able to get away with it. I got it on ASOS actually.

Thank you to whoever posted the Zara velvet dress with lace on the sleeves, I bought it today it's my perfect shape dress!

GoGoGazelle · 18/11/2017 12:59

Love that Topshop one sandra but it would be obscenely short on me. Buying it if they do a Tall version

Talisin · 18/11/2017 13:56

I’m going to have to hide this thread, it’s flipping financially dangerous. I’ve now bought two dresses listed on here.

blodynmawr · 18/11/2017 14:41

The F&F dress linked upthread is now 20% off so a bargainous £12.80. Have ordered in the hope the V neck will suit significant norkage.

allfurcoatnoknickers · 18/11/2017 18:35

I just bought this from whistles. It’s gorgeous, and has an elastic waist for stuffing your face on canapés.

Oh I saw that Whistles dress in store! Didn’t try it on but it does look lovely.

The Zara dress is a great dress. Annoying it didn’t suit my generousHmm hips. It’s great to see someone buy it - I can live vicariously through you!!

Loving the links. I finally decided to give in and go quite festive and bought this New Look top. It’s a cheapie and not too OTT but I thought it would be fine for my sparkly Christmas night. Plan on wearing it with wide leg high waisted trousers, fancy shoes. The eighties called and want their fashion back...

trixymalixy · 18/11/2017 19:41

I went to try on this monsoon dress that someone linked to upthread.

Loved it but decided £120 was just too much. When I got home I had another look at it and it was down to £70!! Was meant to be!

Passthecake30 · 18/11/2017 20:35

I'm still dress less... loving some of these dresses but they would look like tops on me Blush

Lobsterquadrille2 · 18/11/2017 21:07

trixy I did exactly the same with that Monsoon dress and collected it in store this afternoon. Hope the three of us aren't going to the same party in Kent ..

Furball - Studio 8
Expensive but worth it - really well made

GoGoGazelle · 19/11/2017 07:18

I've ordered this black jumpsuit which I'll bling up. Gone for something cheap and that I'll be able to wear on more casual nights out as fed up of buying a beautiful dress and wearing it once a year.

ultrababy · 19/11/2017 07:44

@millifiori misguided do feathery mules. I paid £30.00. I can’t link sorry.

Lobster don't worry, I'm in Scotland!

I also tried on that beautiful navy velvet ted baker dress, but even with the 30% off I couldn't justify it.

DollyPartonsBeard · 19/11/2017 09:24

I've got this dress from Joanie from last year. Only wore it once with family so it's getting another outing when I go 'out' out. I'm dearly wishing it was still possible to get Anello & Davide character shoes with the button closure as in my head they'd be perfect with it.

DollyPartonsBeard · 19/11/2017 09:25

Duh. This dress from Joanie. Pic fail.

Spent a whole day shopping yesterday and came back with nothing! Sad

Cold shoulders, frills, glitter or pleats on endless repeat!

Furball · 19/11/2017 13:16

thank you 123 Smile

Chelsea26 · 19/11/2017 13:36

I bought this and this yesterday. Should pick one but I can’t so I’m keeping them both! I do have a number of Christmas drinks/awards coming up so it’s ok really! Grin

Need some pointy courts now

Ive bought this. www.quizclothing.co.uk/clothes/00100012789.html

I wouldn't normally pick a dress let alone a bodycon.... i went shopping with my brutal friend!!

Apparently i have a lovely figure buried in poorly fitting clothes.....!!

So wish me luck in pulling this off!

ZaZathecat · 20/11/2017 07:57

It's lovely Crotchet

Crochetnanigans · 20/11/2017 17:52

Thanks. Thought id broken the thread!

SandrasAnnoyingFriend · 20/11/2017 19:18

Gah, the Topshop navy sparkle dress is VERY short. I’m going to try going up to a size 12 to see if it’s any more decent.
Shame they don’t do a Tall version as the regular one must be designed for someone several inches shorter than me (5’8).

trixymalixy · 22/11/2017 20:56

My monsoon lace dress arrived today and it's much nicer on than I remembered. I'm delighted with it! Just need some shoes now. Any suggestions?
