Calling all apples. What have you bought recently?

I'm trying to buy some new clothes but finding it impossible to find time or decide what I like.

Any other apple shapes care to share some wisdom about recent purchases which look nice? Ideally booby apples who are about a 12-14 and medium height! But any suggestions very gratefully received.

I asked this a few weeks ago and mostly got told to look at plus size places, which I'm ashamed to say knocked my confidence as i don't consider myself plus size although at the moment I am recently post partum so a bit bigger than normal though I admit this is a little pathetic.

Anyway hoping to get some inspiration from Apple shapes who have bought clothes recently

Huge thanks in advance

I wore it with a chunky gold rope necklace , black opaque tights and heeled ankle boots. Felt very elegant for once!

WontLetThoseRobotsDefeatMe · 13/10/2017 18:37

Continuing the apple challenge...work wear?? Especially tights which come up over the tum and don't cut in - I've given up on trousers at the mo as I'm too plump and they huuuuuurt when I'm sat down. Unless there's some type of lovely soft elasticated formal office wear I've been unaware of.

Acunningruse · 14/10/2017 11:49

Robots- I buy primark tights (opaques) but make a little nick in the waistband with scissors to give me a few extra cm yes this is actually a maternity/pregnancy tip that is how big my post partum tummy still is

Acunningruse · 14/10/2017 11:52

The HM links arent working for me does anyone know what the dresses were please? About to order some kids winter stuff so thought I could get a couple of bits for me too.

I bought this a few weeks ago and it is the most flattering dress ever I am a bit worried I'm going to wear it to death:
www.matalan.co.uk/product/detail/s2661314_c101/floral-print-shirt-dress-black the drawstring sits perfectly for me. I am 5foot 1 size 14 with disproportionately large tummy. If you were taller you might want to wear with leggings or at least very thick tights.

Appuskidu · 14/10/2017 13:17

I have just bought this. The photo looks pretty awful, but it's actually very flattering!

I bought the Mint Velvet top that was linked to upthread. I am 5'10, size 16 on top and 14 in bottoms. I ordered size 12 top and it was humongous! It hid my tummy allright but the batwing sleeves made me look huge. Shame, because the colours are beautiful.

I also ordered the Phase eight Becca dress in a 12. WOW! And I mean WOW! It is simply amazing, flatters my long legs, hides my tummy, the colour (wine) is spot on (I'm a winter). It is stupidly expensive (£89) for what it is, but I can see getting so much wear out of it that I am keeping it.

Flowers to the lovely ladies for all the recommendations ❤️

Now, if anyone has found any very stretchy black trousers that actually stay up....

wont let thise robots my 'go to' work outfits are shift dresses (with tummy control pants), long cardigans, statement necklace and heels. Or slim fit M&S trousers, fitted shirts at belly buttom length worn outside, long cardigans, slim long skinny scarf.

DrizzleHair · 14/10/2017 21:21

Appu that looks exactly like the Becca top people have raved about. Just much much cheaper. I've just ordered a bunch of Beccas to try on, including a wine coloured one. I might have to try the New Look too as a comparison.

maraki I think I recommended the MV top. I have these black trousers from Next, they call them leggings but they are not that tight around the bottom and also very thick ponte material, stay up perfectly (coming from someone who has just returned two pairs of jeans that didn't stay up).

I fit the description - 5'4, 12-14 belly and 32GG boobs. Not really buying clothes, at the moment, as I'm saving my pennies, but I did splashh out on yet another pair of M&S sculpt and lift skinny jeans with a 20% off sparks discount, last week, as I've been after some new black ones for ages.

This is making me twitch, though. I love linen and I love the colour and it's 20% off and I've had other shirts from there and they're so flattering, as I have such a narrow back

Love this, too, but I already have a similar one, in grey (which I love wearing)

This is the one I actually have - it's really neat around the shoulders and the print is gorgeous, which all distracts from the mess that is my midriff www.fifecountry.co.uk/images/product_images/alt_images/alt3_large_8919.jpg If anything, it looks better with a bigger bust to hang off than it does on the model.

I am an Apple too, size 14 with G cup boobs. I’m 5ft4.
Thank you for this thread. I went RL shopping today and got the Hush Amie joggers, a mint velvet jumper
www.mintvelvet.co.uk/product/bordeaux-zip-sleeve-batwing/11200
A dress from Bravissimo, it’s pretty flattering but will need control tights to feel confident around the tummy region.
www.bravissimo.com/products/florence-rib-dress-navy-pd611nvy/

And a skirt from white stuff- it’s a bit short but hoping with opaque tights, knee boots and a jumper I can get away with it.

Trouble is shopping makes me want to shop more! I’m wondering what to wear with the hush joggers. I fancy another top to wear with the skirt too.

Cos dresses are great for apple shapes as are dresses by Carolyn Donnelly- The Edit dunnesstores.com

GoGoGazelle · 17/10/2017 15:36

Late to the Becca party - just bought the silver sparkly one and I love it.

ilovecherries · 18/10/2017 15:37

I bought the espirit dress recommended up thread. Went 'meh' when I opened the box, put it on and LOVED it.

WellTidy · 18/10/2017 15:44

I have the silver sparkly Becca top too Gazelle. I've worn it out and I really like it. It will be a go to top for me!

Bejazzled · 18/10/2017 17:55

If you love the Becca top then you might like this too - I bought the champagne colour and liked it so much that I went back and bought the charcoal. Both have a lovely shimmer, just enough to feel dressed up worn over jeans etc.(I don't tuck anything in)

They are Next but off eBay (I am not the seller or anything btw)
