Re sheets: I have had great success with high thread count etc etc in TKMaxx. Doesn't last any longer than John Lewis or white co but is a fraction of the cost. As long as you are not too fussed about a specific design you should find something I think.

I must go there for towels. We are in repulsively dire need. I had a small windfall but blew it on half-price luxury candles there instead. I never usually do things like that and do not regret AT ALL.

Any recommendations for a good, red-tinted lip balm? I have my ticket for another India trip and need something for wearing with casually gorgeous hippy cousin...

MrsSchadenfreude · 22/10/2017 12:22

Burts Bees do tinted lip balm. Fairly sure they do a red one.

Rosenspants · 22/10/2017 14:27

😂😂😂😂re Sheldon Cooper..... well not exactly....he just wears a long sleeved tee under a short sleeved tee....I like the slightly drapey tops, slight cowl neck, with quite a close fitting one underneath...and longer length so it sticks out the bottom. Covers rolls of belly fat but the slimness of the under layer avoids the tented look. Iyswim...
Ps DD is actually going as her beloved Sheldon Cooper to ComicCon soon... 🤣🤣 easiest costume ever...

Mrs S, tkmaxx for hotel standard sheets. Do you like fitted or unfitted ? If the latter you will have a good choice of strong white sheets. I can also recommend the linen sheets at La redoute which are gorgeous to sleep on ( we have the duvet cover also. It is soft unwashed tripe linen. Intermixed with the linen, we have cast off Irish Linen sheets from Late GPS, some 100% cotton from Ikea and cath kidston. Out Debenhams wedding linen is still going except we graduated from a double to a kingsize, so no use.

MsM, have you looked at the overshirts in MUJI ? I think the have excellent layering potential.

I bought the Bourjois Lip Pencil after seeing it on here somewhere. I really like it and it smells good too!

Sainsbo’s had them for about a fiver. Lots of colours to choose from and no need to use a mirror to apply, just point and colour in Smile

MsMartini · 22/10/2017 18:47

I will try Muji, Crem - had assumed it would be the same issue as Uniqlo as my top half is very un-Japanese.

I like layering and manage it with uniqlo thermals and a shirt/top on top anf thermal sticking out the bottom, but need more of the top layers.

Late to the party, and sorry to have gone AWOL again - v busy times here; I've been on more or less total digital detox in order to get things done.

Anyways, Xmas dinner, yes please....would be lovely to see you all again, am missing you. I should be back on it, soon.

MrsSchadenfreude · 23/10/2017 08:48

Yay!!! Moddy is back!

Modestine · 23/10/2017 09:16

I do love that modification of my name. Grin MrsS, are you off to forrin parts? Have not kept up. Am looking at WA but overwhelmed by backlog.

MrsSchadenfreude · 23/10/2017 09:33

Not till next summer, Moddy.

I solved the sheet dilemma through Amazon, which delivered a new Egyptian cotton sheet yesterday. It's 400 thread count, feels great. May order another one, depending on how it wears.

Cremolafoam · 23/10/2017 18:54

Excellent excellent. I have treated self to a deep fitting one, as our newish mattress is determined to ping off the standard depth ones.

You are a lamb, darling Crem. Nothing mutton about you. They look lovely.

MrsSchadenfreude · 23/10/2017 23:23

FB is advertising to me a new website aimed at the menopausal woman (models cannot be more than 30 in photos). It seems to be all beige vests and pants. Am not sure whether I should a) shoot self now b) grow my beard and sew up my fanjo with baler twine or c) block website. Thought?

Modestine · 23/10/2017 23:38

Pass the baler twine when you've finished with it.
