motherinferior · 26/10/2017 22:12

I really rate the aldi ones too!

addle · 27/10/2017 12:10

My closest aldi turns out to be south norwood or tooting so may make an outing at some point - thank you! any particular scent of the aldi ones?

motherinferior · 27/10/2017 15:00

They are Jo Malone ripoffs so the lime basil and mandarin is lovely!

motherinferior · 28/10/2017 09:32

Morning all. I am off to the giddy heights of the Paddington movie...

MrsSchadenfreude · 28/10/2017 18:24

I've been at the station... Paddington, that is. Bear

MrsSchadenfreude · 29/10/2017 17:36

I have bought a pair of leopard print boots on Ebay. I think I am turning into Bet Lynch. Grin

motherinferior · 30/10/2017 06:49

I am mulling Restrained Frocks for an interview tomorrow...

addle · 30/10/2017 07:20

good luck for tomorrow, MI

MsMartini · 30/10/2017 10:39

Yes, best of luck, MI.

Shoe/boot suggestions for the chunky of calf to wear with skirts? Must have decent arch support. Can't cope with heels.

Rosenspants · 30/10/2017 12:00

Good luck MI I like your black velvet number....with jacket?
MsM I like flat knee leather boots with skirts. You just have to find a wider fit in the calf, or something with a stretch panel. I bought a pair of Gabor black boots a few years ago and they've been a fantastic investment. Will see if they have anything similar and link. I am slimish of calf but Gabor are supposed to be wide fitting.

Rosenspants · 30/10/2017 12:04

Gabor gorgeousness

Rosenspants · 30/10/2017 12:07

Geox have great arch support in quite a lot of their footwear

Expensive though as are Gabor but my boots have paid for themselves over and over again.

MsMartini · 30/10/2017 14:11

Aw thanks Rosenspants! Some of those Geox look great (I quite want something a bit Converse/sneaker like in shape but with arch support). Will go in a skirt to one of their shops and try loads on and then ponder/wait for sale perhaps.

Should have said I have two pairs of boots - one to just below the knee which I wear with longer skirts. And one mid-calf suede/fluffy ones which I wear with shorter skirts (above knee), tho it is a bit Mrs Badger of Sylvania. I'd like a marginally smarter pair of mid-calf ones I think for he slightly shorter skirts.

Gin fans: Lidl is expanding its range enticingly!

MrsSchadenfreude · 31/10/2017 22:33

I don't have a Lidl near me!

IDismyname · 01/11/2017 06:59

I was going to pop in and let you know that Lidls have their winter gin back in stock, however I've picked up (thanks to you) that they've now got further offerings in the flavoured gin section too. I have 2 Lidls to go to. One in posh area that always runs out of antipasti artichokes and Prosecco...

Am in the final week of a project that has sapped me of sleep and increased my internal angst, despite loving it. Hand in is early next week, so hope to be a better contributor all round.

Bear with me Crepes. I may post my final submission on WA (the pretty stuff) but leave out the acres of analysis that I've had to put with it Grin

motherinferior · 02/11/2017 08:31

Ooh now I had an S&B request...and have forgotten it.Grin

MrsSchadenfreude · 02/11/2017 12:46

I would like a miracle foundation that makes me look less tired and old. I would also like to be 3 stone lighter, and just to be generally less tired. Oh and not to live in a hovel. Is that too much to ask? DH has put all the furniture that we want to sell, but no-one wants to buy, in the middle of the sitting room, just to add to the usual chaos.

MrsSchadenfreude · 02/11/2017 13:29

Oh and I have just attacked my feet with a chiropodist sponge and they have gone from hooves to baby feet. I think they are probably half a size smaller too.

motherinferior · 02/11/2017 14:40

Ooh yes. Can you recommend me a SERIOUSLY LOVELY shower oil/cream? For those ‘soddit I want a hot shower and crawl into PJs moments’? On a level with a luxe bath oil and suitable for dry skin...?

Rosenspants · 02/11/2017 18:15

I am very boring and only like baby soap....there was a thread on here I was reading recently that suggested that shower gel doesn't get you clean enough and doesn't deal with BO Hmm, and one should go back to soap!!!

this however looks lush I am very tempted.....

motherinferior · 02/11/2017 18:50

It is nice. So is the Sanctuary version. And there is a new Shea butter one out too.

MrsSchadenfreude · 02/11/2017 19:12

Shower gel doesn't get rid of the smell of sweat. I do my pits and bits with soap and the rest of me with shower gel. If you wash your nethers with shower gel, you still get a slight cumin whiff afterwards.

I do like nice soap. This comes from years and years of using only simple soap and aqueous cream after I caught orf from a sheep and it got out of control.

motherinferior · 02/11/2017 19:14

Yes, I use a mix of soap (we tend to have v straightforward soap as otherwise it irritates Dp’s skin)...
