MM, just seen this - so sorry. Much love to you all. xxx

Auriga · 03/10/2017 23:39

MM, love and strength to you and your family. Must be awful to see your son & DIL in pain & not be able to kiss it better. Bon courage.

Blackduck · 04/10/2017 06:06

MM so very sorry - fingers firmly crossed.

IDismyname · 05/10/2017 07:41

MM is it ok to send you a huge Crepey Hug? We're right behind you. Hope all is OK.

My louche approach to studenthood has bitten me on the bum. I am already juggling balls of work and home. Home is falling apart, so builders and tree surgeons needed, and my predicted 20-25 hours study a week already seems to be rather accurate. Ho hum.

I am LOVING it, though!

As a result, I may just post here, but the WA is proving to be too much for me to follow. Hope no offence to you all. Please prod me on MUs.

MsMartini · 05/10/2017 08:26

Airborne, brilliant brilliant news on you loving the course! Really pleased for you.

bigTillyMint · 05/10/2017 08:55

Airbourne, so glad youre enjoying itSmile

Hope its helping to make home-life more bearable.

motherinferior · 05/10/2017 10:16

And...anyone for gathering around our customary watering-hole on, ahem, Friday the 13th??

hattymattie · 05/10/2017 11:45

Airborne - fantastic news - keep at it.

I 'm going full time for a couple of months to cover a vacancy. Not sure how I will now clean my house, shop for food, keep fit and prepare Christmas. My admiration to those of you who manage to successfully juggle all these balls and work full time.

MM - hope things are OK.

MsMartini · 05/10/2017 12:37

What could possibly go wrong, MI? I might well be but will have to see how next week goes.

Good luck Hatty! Sod te housework I wd say.

herbaceous · 05/10/2017 12:59

Hatty, my advice would be internet shopping, don't clean, just run up the stairs at work, and assume Christmas will take care of itself approx 15 December. At least, that's what I'm doing!

Re drink, most probably!

Rosenspants · 05/10/2017 14:06

Hatty My house was cleaner when I worked full time...no one around in the day to make it a mess,' the DC were busy making a pigsty of the childminder's house... And I used supermarket delivery and an ironing service Blush No time for keep fit, but I was fitter (as presumably no time for lolling in Costa with empty calories)....and fortunately didn't have Xmas to worry about, but would definitely go with suggestion of online present shopping. Smile

motherinferior · 05/10/2017 14:17

We pay a cleaner and I run in the mornings and swim a couple of times a week (evenings/ weekends): do an internet shop: and do an online Christmas order around 10dec. Is all feasible!

hattymattie · 05/10/2017 16:57

Hmm - good point Rose about everyone being out. The house is cleaner and the water bill less since the DD's left. I have also made the DD's promise to help out as they will be back for Christmas and are very capable of cooking, shopping etc.

I will miss my gym buddies though (whines).

In S&B - have taken delivery of the Boden Oxford cord blazer in dark grey in the sale. I haven't bought anything from them for ages but have to say it's fab, fits like a glove and will be perfect for school - smart but not too smart. Very happy.

MsMartini · 05/10/2017 19:10

Ooooh sounds nice Hatty!

I miss my morning gym buddies too (have sort of switched to evening for now - they are more raucous and make less marmalade Smile).

hattymattie · 05/10/2017 19:33

Grinat raucous evening crowd Mrs M. I have to say, with winter closing in I'm really bad at dragging myself out at night (this includes social activity). I want to batten down the hatches and stay warm and cosy. I'm a different person in summer.

MrsWobble3 · 05/10/2017 21:20

I suspect I am terminally unsociable but the idea of gym buddies gives me horrors. I hate bumping into anyone I know at the gym so the idea of it being a social activity is beyond me. But I accept that it's me with the problem.

motherinferior · 05/10/2017 21:38

I like to exercise alone too.

MrsW, on for a snifter next Fri?

MsMartini · 05/10/2017 22:29

I know, Hatty, I may switch back when the evenings draw in. I like the no-strings sort-of-sociability of exercising with strangers, have been encouraged to try new things, and if I don't book something I stay on the sofa! Really admire people who motivate themselves to exercise alone but I need to be shouted at.

IDismyname · 05/10/2017 22:35

Let me get back to you on the 13th. Sounds like a good plan...

MrsSchadenfreude · 05/10/2017 22:47

I can't do the 13th. I will be drunk and disorderly elsewhere.

hattymattie · 06/10/2017 07:39

Mrs W - the beauty of the gym buddies is I didn't know them before - we met through long hours of suffering hot and sweatily together. Occasionally I glimpse somebody from gym in town, in their clothes and make up and am hard pressed to recognise them out of context.

MsMartini · 06/10/2017 07:50

Yeah, Hatty, I am the same. It isn't like normal socialising but quite liberating/fun - I get why you will miss it.

MsMartini · 06/10/2017 07:53

Crepeys on FB, I am following women after 50 - quite often gives me a morning smile.

MrsSchadenfreude · 08/10/2017 10:00

Hatty, I have just bought two Boden dresses in the sale, for work. I don't mind paying £30 for a dress but think the prices of their new collection are ridiculous!

motherinferior · 08/10/2017 14:53

Tell me, what colour is this jumper (cashhmere, fiver in local chazzer)? Is it nice? Can I wear it - probably as a layer with a red cardie over - or will I look twinsetty and matronly?
