I might be able to come along for a quick one - but am meeting friends at the pub later that evening. What time do you plan on starting?

IDismyname · 07/09/2017 16:43

Yes - MrsS - when do your student days begin...?

Ive just come back from a jolly with my DBro in the West Country... He'd got us tickets to a biodynamic wine tasting + tapas at his local wine bar. I'm not usually good at drinking rose, white and red, but as they were all sulphite free, I felt Okay this morning. Not brilliant, but vastly better than drinking 'normal' wine.

There were some exasperated responses this morning on WA as to WHEN was I starting my course...?? Its OK, Crepeys - I get the hint. Time to knuckle down and Do something.

The answer is Sept 18th.

Just got back home to find a large bowl of courgette relish mixture ready to process. And Apple Chilli Jelly mixture, too.

Better get going...

IDismyname · 07/09/2017 16:48

Also posted on S&B re trying to find some shoes from M&S. Any pointers appreciated...

MrsSchadenfreude · 07/09/2017 19:00

I think these shoes have our name on them, Airborne!

BeachysFlipFlops · 07/09/2017 20:31

I quite like those, is that wrong!

I also like these....

MrsSchadenfreude · 07/09/2017 21:32

I prefer the M & S shoes. I saw the JL ones in the flesh but didn't particularly like them. I like a blocky heel.

Cremolafoam · 08/09/2017 08:47

Morning Crepes, sorry I have been AWOL, but am still in Spain, later today in France.
Having a wonderful time, but interestingly nearly ran into a wild boar last night! Well I never. It was quite alarming as it was huge! Had a full practice at emergency stop ✋. Phew.

I like all those red shoes 👠 ladeeez. Have recently been directed to several newish websites:
Lindex
Arquet
Reserved
Weekday.

In S&B news I have donned my slightly heavier-weight toast jeans bought for a tenner in the sales some years ago. I have several pairs and they are the only jeans I've had that just keep going on and on (in my case without thigh rub). Even at full price they'd have been worth it!

addle · 08/09/2017 10:44

Remember you buying those jeans, MI, as was most envious. will look out for some.

Mrs W, you so right about that M&S jumper now that I can see it properly. Massively overstyled. Idiots.

Love red shoes. Still remember my very first pair when I was about 5. Wore them to death. Couldn't be parted from them. Clarks T-bar with that sort of punched hole ?flower pattern.

motherinferior · 08/09/2017 10:52

I would like some flat red chelsea boots please.

Cremolafoam · 08/09/2017 22:37

I'd quite like a pair of these MI.

I'm liking all the red shoes.

Beachy You need some for an upcoming wedding, no?

There's definitely a pair with my name on them. Wink

I'm rocking brogues this winter. Got a nice suede and patent leather pair from TKMaxx in Long Acre, and have managed to get a black pair in 6.5 from M&S.

Just got back from local party and had v v interesting convo with local lady who's a project manager for local building co. She's confirmed my feelings about where there are gaps in my field of design. Am feeling quite buoyed by it all.

Blackduck · 09/09/2017 07:22

Re Friday usual time and place? I.e. early? I will have seen friends and will need to do obligatory curry with dad...

Rosenspants · 09/09/2017 10:33

Ooh new websites to browse! thanks Cremo'. I have often wondered about Toast jeans actually...never been brave enough to,
order them though....they seem to have a lot of trousers on the website but no jeans at the moment though....
Need to do a review of my coats....invariably functional, and I need hoods. Usually order from LandsEnd as they're indestructible. But I want to replace my puffy jacket, and saw this...I'm attracted because it's actually shaped!

worried too short though

Cremolafoam · 09/09/2017 13:23

Oh hooray Rosen with regards to curvy coat. I've seen those kind of lightweight jobs, but they have all been boxy. Starfor Bravissimo, where I never look for clothes, but ought to.
Weather has transformed here in France, to rainy and grey, so browsing the shops and looking at autumnal gear didn't make me feel hot this morning. Have bought gorgeous nightwear and some soapy things I usually get when I'm here. Bliss! Dh looking distinctly fed up so have sent him to le bar.
Lots and lots of red boots and shoes here in the shops. Red and Teal seem to be the dominant colours of the season.
Fluffy, that is most bolstering. Delighted for you.

bigTillyMint · 09/09/2017 16:49

That looks very flattering Rose. Does super curvy mean very well-endowed?Grin I have an even shorter jacket and it is very useful.

Rosenspants · 09/09/2017 17:42

Yes BTM they have slightly strange sizing categories. It's for women who need more room around the boobs but who don't want to go up sizes just to accommodate them. I might order it. I'm just worried it's not long enough and will finish at the fattest bit of my thighs!

MrsSchadenfreude · 09/09/2017 20:39

It looks like it covers your arse and the top bit of your thighs, Rosen.

I am the destroyer of nice red shoes. I have been sick on two pairs (why yes, alcohol was involved, why do you ask?) and wore another pair to a garden party at Buckingham Palace that got flooded out (water up to my ankles) due to torrential rain.

motherinferior · 10/09/2017 12:02

I need autumn shoes/boots...

Modestine · 10/09/2017 19:32

I'm tempted by these:

www.next.co.uk/g21276s6

MollyModestine back in the fray - still haven't caught up, though, apologies! Red shoes called me to S&B.

MsMartini · 10/09/2017 22:20

Hello M/M, good to see you. I love those boots but they would make my feet scream.

What autumn/winter shoes can I wear that have thick soles, arch support, with skirts/dresses? And what about with jeans? I have two pairs of brogues (v sensible), one pair boots to just below the knee and one casual mid calf pair.

addle · 11/09/2017 06:51

all those fine with different lengths and shape of skirts, MM.

nice to see you MollyM

MsMartini · 11/09/2017 08:21

I have short wide calves that go out very quickly, so ankle boots and skirts don't really work for me, I don't think (but will try).

MrsWobble3 · 11/09/2017 10:39

I am so not S&B that my shoes don't have seasons - I'm not sure I could distinguish an autumnal shoe from any other time of year - with the exception of snow boots and flip flops where the functional difference is a bit of a giveaway.

But, I did have some red pixie boots a few years ago so perhaps all is not lost.

I've just been invited to a posh party with a posh frocks dress code. I am absurdly excited about this - and won't even buy a new frock as I love my current posh frock. I may need to starve for a few weeks beforehand to make it look good but that's ok.

My excitement over this is either empty nest displacement (took dd3 to uni last weekend) or boredom or both.
