I am on the hunt for a deep chestnut pair of pull on calf length boots.

Anyone seen anything decent?

Also what is up with Toast this year?

Jigsaw napa leather jacket. In ink. I neeeeed it!

Niminy · 11/08/2017 22:03

Grin I'm not fashion-forward enough to channel 1930s golfer as a style inspiration...

FlorenceLyons · 11/08/2017 22:03

I wore cullottes with boots last winter. I like the look.

tobee · 11/08/2017 22:10

Anyone got any tips for best general clothing websites because everywhere I'm looking it's still all flaming Bardot tops, cold shoulder, bell sleeves and ruffles and frou frou and it's driving me mad!

Blogwoman · 11/08/2017 22:32

People Tree can be hit and miss but I love their apple print & am tempted by this shirt dress www.peopletree.co.uk/new-in/allegra-apple-shirt-dress Like their seed print in the V&A range too. I'm also eyeing up various Fly London shoes. Rather love this silk shirt from Boden but too expensive... www.boden.co.uk/en-gb/womens-shirts-blouses/long-sleeved-tops/wa786-dbl/womens-navy-bloom-the-silk-shirt I've also seen a lovely trench coat in a berry colour but can't find it - thought Hobbs or Jigsaw. Just as well I can't as it was £200 [hnn]

Blogwoman · 11/08/2017 22:35

Ooh catching up with some post up thread & I'm not the only one lusting after that trench - it is Hobbs. Sigh... www.johnlewis.com/hobbs-london-saskia-trench-coat/p3250589?colour=Burgundy&s_afcid=af_78888&tmad=c&awc=1203_1502487265_936552cde7400522564abad8cef1e794&tmcampid=48

The tweed coats from Walker Slater are lovely and a bit unusual.

VictoriaMcdade · 12/08/2017 00:31

If I was taller I would definitely get this one but my legs are too short

Talisin · 12/08/2017 00:49

Spent the last three years looking for a burgundy/oxblood biker jacket that suited me and I may have finally found one, in Next of all places. Plum leather biker. Soft leather, right length, not too tight across the shoulders and hangs perfectly. Just need to try it on with a few things tomorrow to make a final decision on whether it stays or goes back.

nigelsbigface · 12/08/2017 06:37

Thanks Reinette-I'm ordering the green one!

PrimalLass · 12/08/2017 08:05

I have a Next leather biker in navy from a few years ago. It is lovely.

Fender1 · 12/08/2017 08:41

JMangel, I'm tempted to copy and paste your autumn wish list!
Last year kettlewell did some lovely slouchy cashmere / cotton v neck so hoping they make an appearance this year. Actually should check them out for their (fairly good weight) jersey pieces too...

Thanks Banana. I've tried 2 or three from Whistles - the Maya, I think it was, was gorgeous - but they just don't look right on me.

Dancergirl · 12/08/2017 10:33

Great thread. I am also after some lovely brown or tan leather knee high boots. But would you wear them with jeans tucked in or not??

Dancergirl · 12/08/2017 10:34

Love the warehouse dress jem

Pippin8 · 12/08/2017 12:39

To the person who wanted a coatigan, modern rarity for John Lewis have a lovely one, it comes in 3 different colours, but it is £100.

Also, jigsaw have some amazing coats, the fluffy mohair one caught my eye, thankfully green is not my colour as its also very expensive.

PaperdollCartoon · 12/08/2017 13:16

Following! Autumn is just the best. I don't get on with coats and run warm so autumn for me is all about blazers, layers and big scarves. Saying that I would love to finally find a coat I really love. That's not too thick, flatters my body (short and curvy size 12) and suits then clothes I wear. I've yet to find something actually perfect in a decade of trying.

I want some nice cotton knitwear for layering. I've just ordered a few Boden things I'm hoping I'll like.

Beadieeye · 12/08/2017 16:59

I really want some nice culottes, I'm sick of wearing skinny jeans (bootleg/mom/ect look disgusting on me) ALL the time. But I don't know where they are meant to sit on the calf. Also worried my legs just don't suit them...
I really wanted a long navy coat last year and when I finally got one i realised that is just didn't look 'right' and I figured it's because it wasn't quite long enough. Argh!
I'm loving this thread. Autumn is my favourite season for dressing but wish I could look effortlessly cool with layers, cosy knits and big scarves instead of a frump

Dancergirl · 12/08/2017 17:23

pippin the modern rarity coatigan is gorgeous!

Nearlyadoctor · 12/08/2017 19:41

I love this time of year when the shops are getting in A/W clothes as I begrudge spending money on summer ones as they get much less use.
I don't think there's anything I really need although I would like another pair of Dubarry Clare boots in walnut.
I really love autumn colours and it looks like burgundy/ deep plum is going to be popular. I would really like a cowl neck jumper in a burgundy type shade preferably cashmere if anyone sees one. Also lusting after a Schoffel Tilton 1/4 zip fleece in Expresso but ££££. If anyone has one do you think they are true to size ? Website suggests they run slightly small.
I wanted a poncho in the jigsaw sale ( Morello cherry) but was sold out, rang them today and they helpfully looked up stores with stock so it's being posted to me - useful to know they'll do it with sale stock and not just full price items.
Just to add Hush ( I know banned name on here after last years fiasco, but I love their Tara dresses and my Star jumper)are launching their autumn collection on Tuesday!

Squashit · 12/08/2017 21:18

Woolovers have a cashmere burgundy cowl neck jumper in the sale.

EnidButton · 12/08/2017 23:32

No suggestions or wants yet but I love it when all the A/W stuff starts coming into stock. So so much nicer than Summer clothes will ever be. Looking forward to some tailoring and lots of boots.

Nearlyadoctor · 13/08/2017 07:39

Thanks Squashit but it's described as hot pink rather than burgundy and is a bit brighter than I was looking for. I want a deeper colour.
Some good prices in their sale - have you bought from them before? I've never bought from them but was wondering re quality.

OneThingAndThenTheNext · 13/08/2017 18:21

Love this thread. Autumn is definitely my favourite season clothes wise!
