I am on the hunt for a deep chestnut pair of pull on calf length boots.

Anyone seen anything decent?

Also what is up with Toast this year?

Quite like the buckle ones though Squash

They've got work on them now. Grin Best reason ever.

Anyone else obsessed with all things black this year after years of trying to lighten it up a bit with grey/beige and then realising that black just looks soooo good and doesn't wash you out at all?

Also the same for dark lipstick. I am currently loving a Maybelline one called Berry Bossy.

Slightly similar to the OPs first request, but does anyone know of anything similar to these boots i.e. red-brown knee length very simple leather boots
but with somewhat wider calves [these have a circumference of 14.5", mine are 16"]
thanks!

I really love a dark lipstick. I bought one last year that was a deep berry red and it smells of cinnamon! Cheap too, think it's just a Rimmel one.

Black does really wash me out though. I'm too pale. One hint of black near my face and Bam! Instant goth.

taybert · 22/08/2017 21:38

Oo, also, I need a leather bag, either cross body or shoulder (but it has to stay on my shoulder) in some kind of brown.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 22/08/2017 21:39

I think I'll be wearing black when pushing my zimmer frame along.

Not a fan of those boots, sorry, but if you love them then go for it!

Squashit · 22/08/2017 21:40

Clarks Cheshunt might work. They have a gortex elasticated bit at the back and are pretty plain.

@BertOrErnie, they're beautiful!

HandmaidsFail · 22/08/2017 21:45

@Squashit, where are the black boots with buckles from?

BertOrErnie · 22/08/2017 21:46

I know, that's the problem! Never realised I had plus-size calves before [mutter]

BertOrErnie · 22/08/2017 21:49

Thanks @Squashit, will have a look

Squashit · 22/08/2017 21:49

Bert Clarks pita Vienna in Mahogany might fit the bill. The mahogany leans purple according to reviews.

Can I join? I've found your lovely thread this evening & been gloriously bobbing about searching new brands from you all (& stories, love it!) & adding to Christmas list for OH (walker & stone chinos, perfect)

I've been on a cashmere splurge, 3x boden, waiting for uniqlo to appear to compare quality, must now stop buying cashmere!

I'm really wanting tunics/shorter dresses to wear with leggings/tights/boots couldn't find any nice ones last year

And waiting also for a burgundy leather jacket to come out from sosander, didn't realise oxblood/wine/cranberry was set to be so big!

For people wanting Chelsea boots, I bought the joules Westbourne chelseas last year with leopard pony skin & polish them every couple of weeks & they wear fab, so comfy & the pony skin still looks great. Big fitting I found.

Oh dear. I think I am as guilty of coat adoration as Flo. I have, without thinking too hard, about
5 woollen overcoats, but most are vintage or family hand me downs.
2 opera coats ( only rarely go to the opera)
I down jacket and a gilet
I new and never worn (yet) very expensive funeral coat/opera jacket
A heap of practical dog walking jackets including but not limited to 2x Barbour, a duffle (shared with DS), 2 Goretex in different weights.
Some canvas jackets....

A lost cause, me.

OCSockOrphanage · 22/08/2017 22:58

And I haven't mentioned work/suit jackets. I have some of those too. Plus raincoats. Blush

Arealhumanbeing · 22/08/2017 23:16

I want the Saint Laurent disco boots! They are very Desperately seeking Susan.

Also the Gucci Marmont in petrol blue (looks like forest green to me).

JohnCheese · 23/08/2017 11:13

Rude marking of place really. I have had no opportunity to browse or think about clothes lately. I would love to 'organised' about this winter. I will prob lurch between wearing old items and frantically looking for an updater.

I'd love a lovely pair of boots. I mean really lovely. To wear with trousers and skirts for work. Bought last year's in a distasteful haste, and they were just that - distasteful.

I have this skirt from last year, which is to the knee on me (model must be 100 ft tall) and I wore it to death. I hope to wear it again this year. I did buy the midi version thinking it would be an update but I can't grow to like it. We'll see. Skirt is great tho. I wear it with stripes, a leopard jumper, actually lots. Highly recommend.

Love all the links here.

Squashit · 23/08/2017 12:17

New Look has a nice dark burgundy a-line faux leather skirt John which might be up your street 🙂. Would be way above knee on most too. Looks pretty good for a fake leather skirt and about £20.

Just marking my place here so I can come back with my wish list. There's some gorgeous links on here so far

Whatthefoxgoingon · 23/08/2017 15:08

Love that skirt JohnCheese!

MooseyMoo · 23/08/2017 15:37

You've all inspired me to start hunting for autumn clothes. Just found this gorgeous coatigan from The White Company

UsernameInvalid66 · 23/08/2017 18:08

The only thing I know I want that I haven't got already is some red or burgundy boots - I'm not even sure what style, but probably low to medium heels.

Like most autumns, this autumn my plan is to wear lots of black, light brown, grey, cream, silver/gunmetal, burgundy, muted pink and mustard yellow (probably not all together at the same time). In practice it's quite likely that one unexpectedly coloured item will turn up and take me in a completely different direction.

EnidButton · 23/08/2017 21:20

I've ordered a couple of French connection dresses to wear with black opaques, boots and either a leather biker or a thick long cardigan. Also ordered a burgundy/wine cord skirt from Oasis.

Glad to see lots of burgundy/deep wine colours.
