I am on the hunt for a deep chestnut pair of pull on calf length boots.

Anyone seen anything decent?

Also what is up with Toast this year?

I love those House of Bruar coats. I can't really justify buying another coat though, I already have loads.

Floisme · 17/08/2017 15:49

Can't link at moment (will try again later) but saw a coat I liked in the John Lewis Weekend range - 'Cocoon' shape and in a shade of navy that actually suits me.

Also a similar one in their Kin range but it fastens with poppers. Call me fussy but, if you're paying £169, I think it's reasonable to expect proper button holes.

Sammysquiz · 17/08/2017 18:05

Did you keep the Next leather jacket Talisin? I've ordered it, but it's not yet arrived, looks gorgeous in the photos.

Talisin · 17/08/2017 18:35

Yes I did keep it. I wanted to have a good look at it in my own mirror and with several outfits before I decided, tried it on with one thing and was sold Smile It's lovely - gorgeous colour, soft leather, right length and hangs perfectly on me. I was a little worried about the belt and whether it would get in the way or just look awkward but it's fine.

EnidButton · 17/08/2017 22:10

I'm really liking the colours I'm seeing coming in. Happy to see that red is apparently going to be very big this A/W.

I'm waiting for the wool tailored coats. Haven't seen many yet. There was a Ted Baker one I wish I'd snapped up last year so keeping an eye on there.

Rollerbird · 19/08/2017 16:18

2 purchases i love thanks to this thread.
M and S trench here
Also sainsbury 25% off this weekend boots and an impulse buy ankle length jersey skirt that isnt on the website and will be great for autumn

Cherrypi · 19/08/2017 20:20

Very tempted by those boots Rollerbird. I've seen loads of red in the shops already.

Rollerbird · 19/08/2017 20:53

The boots are really comfy, leather, and look a lot dearer than £30!

GoldSpot · 19/08/2017 22:07

I am looking for some narrow, straight leg needle cords. Cannot find them anywhere.

I want most of the knitwear from Toast but cannot afford it.

Some nice long sleeved shirts in cotton or linen with a flattering neckline (just below collar bone).

ReinettePompadour · 19/08/2017 22:36

GoldSpot these cords any good?

Squashit · 19/08/2017 22:36

Goldspot Woolovers might be worth a look for Toast like jumpers.

Floisme · 19/08/2017 22:45

I want some grey, slightly pleated, slightly tapered cords with turn ups. Basically I want the ones I sent to the charity shop about 15 years ago.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 19/08/2017 22:52

Love that hat!

Has anybody seen a black, burgundy or charcoal flippy jersey skirt, just below the knee-ish?

peppykoala · 19/08/2017 23:09

Just bought a fuschia pink coat from Mango which I think will make me v happy to wear!
Then as soon as I get a new job I'm allowed back into & Other Stories...
One of their lovely silk shirts, this jumper in grey (already have black from last year & after that I am allowed No More Jumpers) www.stories.com/gb/Ready-to-wear/Knitwear/Wide_Collar_Sweater/582940-0227964003.2 and maybe also being able to justify these boots... www.stories.com/gb/Shoes/Boots/Pearl_Suede_Boots/114051287-0499840002.2 pearls and suede are really practical, right??

GoldSpot · 19/08/2017 23:17

Thanks Reinette - haven't had a look at La Redoute for ages - I like those, also like the cord cigarette pants they do in navy. Navy cords

Squashit will have a look - thanks.

Jmangel · 20/08/2017 08:42

Oh Floisme, don't you just hate it when that happens. I'm still mourning a stunning fitted grey wool riding coat with an asymmetric long hem - what was I thinking!

Floisme · 20/08/2017 09:44

Flowers for you lovely coat Jmangel I get why people have to get rid of clothes, especially when they don't have much space (been there myself) but I really don't understand posters who say they've never had any regrets.

littleredpear · 20/08/2017 13:19

A Chloe Faye, black suede, silver hardwear.

New all black trainers.

A new jacket - perhaps time to get a biker.

Lots of day to day stuff - got to accept the Choo's I bought and cashmere coats are lovely but not frigging use for my mum life and working in engineering.

Last years Reiss coat is still unworn, meh.

littleredpear · 20/08/2017 13:20

I also want a hanging rail to hang my daily outfit onto each Sunday.

EnidButton · 20/08/2017 13:54

I want a hanging rail too! I have the perfect place for it. The ones I've seen have been too wide.

Floisme · 21/08/2017 11:26

This isn't the shape I'm after plus I sacked Whistles after my last jumper bobbled after one wash. Nevertheless I do like this coat

I also like the shape of this one but the fabric looks like it might turn to fuzzy felt. It also looks suspiciously like it fastens with poppers, in which case they can fuck right off.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 21/08/2017 15:51

Love the colour of that first coat, Flo. Whistles jumpers are dreadful quality - the last one I bought had a hole in after just two wears, and I didn't catch it on anything. Have stopped looking in there now.

Tried on a load of coats in M&S today and didn't like any. The Sherlock Holmes trench is an absolutely beautiful coat, but a disaster on me. The other trenches wear all polyester and felt really cheap and horrible. This pale pink one would have been lovely in cotton, but was really nasty in poly. A shame - it fit perfectly and the colour and shape suited me and I'd have gladly paid more for good fabric.

Floisme · 21/08/2017 16:15

Oh that's a shame, I tried on the Sherlock Homes one and really liked it - especially the longer length. It was, as you said, a very generous fit but I'd been thinking it would leave room underneath for a chunky jumper or tailored jacket....

I have absolutely no need of another coat - I have enough to last me the rest of my life - so I've promised myself I'm only going to buy one if it's either second hand or new but perfect.

Floisme · 21/08/2017 16:16

Is the Autograph one polyester too do you know?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 21/08/2017 16:22

Autograph one is a mix of cotton and poly, but the sleeve lining is poly. I can't wear that colour, so didn't try it on.
