Ok MsM, S&B report from the graduation front line. My summer dress plus jacket combo was pretty much standard mother wear I think. Unfortunately due to weather most people added coats - I had asked dh to put in a coat for me so I was glamorously accessorised with a fuschia cagoule! It was pretty handy for being spotted in the audience though. I think I may repeat the dress/jacket for dd2 but will be more explicit re coat instruction if this 'summer' weather continues.

IDismyname · 29/06/2017 08:27

That HD poem has made me cry. What a beautiful piece.

Sleeping so badly atm that it's not taking much to set me off. It's almost as if my system has forgotten how to do it.

A post birthday trip to the beach with DM. It's pretty grey here, so hope it'll be nice and quiet. Hope the sea air will rejuvenate.

I like the Wrap t shirts. Good price, too.

IDismyname · 29/06/2017 08:30

Auriga Parmesan chicken sounds delish. Is it a roasting tin kind of thing? Ready portioned up? Large salad and baguette and you're done.

I'm off to some kind of Zumba + supper tonight for an Indian children's home. All in the open air. Best get out my winter Lycra.

MsMartini · 29/06/2017 09:03

Must go back to Helen Dunmore...The Siege upset me so much it put me off her a bit (unfairly, obviously).

Auriga, watching your dd leave school and move on must be very bittersweet. It is an odd time. I am braced next week for series of farewell dos.

Yay, MrsW, thank you. Kagouls it is. I have a plain linen dress and shoes but no jacket.......Quite looking forward to two nights in a Premier Inn Grin.

Hatty, are you all OK? How is your dd2?

MsMartini · 29/06/2017 09:03

Airborne, did you do anything nice for your birthday?

FlipflopsOrWellieboots · 29/06/2017 09:10

How does the Wrap sizing come out? Feeling despondent after experience with Crepey skirt Smile

motherinferior · 29/06/2017 09:16

I have a glorious summer coat I found in the chazzer (of course). It is most unlike me to possess such a garment but boy it's useful.

Am also going to take a couple of chazzer frocks to local drycleaner/alterations place later this morning to get them altered to fit.

Auriga · 29/06/2017 10:51

Aargh. Lost post. Summary: yes, Parmesan chicken is portioned & baked in dish, so easy.

Last school walk with DD this morning Sad She told me some of her mnemonics and I recalled some of mine. She said that the one for the cranial nerves is a better poem than some of the ones she has to write about in her exam Grin

I have ironed her voluminous Prom skirt & baked a cake. Now need to get ready for 'graduation' andnot cry

Missing friend's funeral today. Have decided that too many things are coming to an end. Need some new beginnings.

Cremolafoam · 29/06/2017 12:09

Oh Auriga it will be ok to cry. I used to do it every year at the carol service. Dh thought I was shaking with laughter, but no I was sobbing at the beautiful voice of dd.

The HD books stay long in the mind. I do think she is very good at winter scenery, so perhaps a better read in front of the fire, or snuggled up in bed when the weather is cold. Perhaps not summer reading?

Good 'beachy' coverup Fioflops, like it. Personally not sure about shoulder revealing for me. Think I may look thunderous,Grin
Well done on the coat MI. What is it Ike? Is it a waterproof throw on or something more grown up altogether?

Can I draw Crepey attention to the Great Plains Sale. There are really some incredible half price things in many sizes there. Linen shifts and good looking dresses. I am tempted by a drapey cashmere /wool cardigan in a lovely pink.

Am horrified by £=€ exchange rate. It is practically 1 for 1. Expensive holiday coming up....

MsMartini · 29/06/2017 12:15

I know re exchange rate, Crem. Scary.

And aaargh, dd has been partly cancelled AGAIN by her summer job. This happened last year. It is a summer camp and she really loves it, good ethos, they really try to make it fun and stimulating for the children but terrible at backroom admin. This means she has no DBS check in place (well, she has three but they are not the transferable sort I don't think). So if any crepey offspring would like childcare/London outings/a little light english or Latin tutoring this summer....

Rosenspants · 29/06/2017 12:41

DS2 just can't find a job, MsMartini and has been let down too. Why is it so hard to get holiday jobs now? I don't think I had this trouble ever. He is lolling at home and getting despondent about being turned down all the time. Commiserations.

Flipflops Wrap are on the generous side and quite boxy a bit like Poetry, so I have to look for the stuff that is waisted or that I can pull in although have to avoid the sack tied round in the middle look as well. I don't size down but expect things to be loose and flowy. The t shirts are perfect but are on back order as I waited for the sale price and they are wildly popular and sell out very quickly. Don't be despondent about the Plumo skirt. I was shocked at how I had to wrestle it on ...being the pull on variety, yet the rest of it is voluminous once in place. I suspect their waist measurements are on the small side. We must catch up ...am coming down for work soon and then for much of August.

Crem I usually do well at Great Plains...can't believe I forgot about it! Will check the sale out. Have good stretchy t shirts from there still going strong.

Now wondering if I can resist the Hush sale and the LandsEnd one..and every other money off email that screams at me...

I am missing several Crepeys including Hatty and WAF ..it's been a while...

Cremolafoam · 29/06/2017 13:47

Yes and Magi? Unless she has a new name.
Hush us virtually sold out unless a size 6 Rosen. Grin so you can stroke that orf list.!

MsMartini · 29/06/2017 14:09

Is Magi away? I thinks she likes that time offline.

MsMartini · 29/06/2017 14:49

I know, Rosen. I don't think it would be so hard for dd if she had several weeks in a row or if her three (3,iii)DBS checks from last year had been done online so transferable, or if she had had more notice. But she has saved specific weeks for this job that has just cancelled her.....

Auriga · 29/06/2017 18:41

DD's graduation was a lovely celebration, the girls all radiant, relaxed & dressed as if for a wedding, the teachers thanking each girl with a little personal speech.

Had a late lunch with DH then came home to the terrible news that one of my friend's little six-month twin babies has died. Devastated.

MsMartini · 29/06/2017 19:13

Auriga, how truly terrible. I am so sorry. Flowers

Blackduck · 29/06/2017 19:28

Auriga how terribly terribly sad.

Blackduck · 29/06/2017 19:29

Hidden from the rain drinking wine and waiting for DP to collect me. We are not on good terms...

bigTillyMint · 29/06/2017 19:33

Oh Auriga. How awful Sad

motherinferior · 29/06/2017 21:27

Oh no. That is just so awful.

magimedi · 29/06/2017 21:48

Tragic, Auriga - so sad to hear that news. :flowers

I am back - been in Turkey for a couple of weeks & then carried on being off line for another week. I love you all (huns!) but I find that being off line is so much better for my anxiety that I do intend to limit my time on social media.

I really have not managed to read 3 weeks worth of Crepey chat so hope you are all OK & send love to those who aren't or need it.

Had a wonderful day today at Devonshire Park watching the tennis. I don't know if any of you are tennis fans but if you are I'd highly recommend it. We had Court 1 seats at the price of £11, which gave us access to every court bar Centre.

Watched Gasquet v Anderson, Wozniackii, Kerber & (highlight of the day) Monfils v Tomic. Also saw a bit of Halep, Kusnetsova & ( another highlight) The Bryan brothers.

And Wimbledon starts next week - highlight of the year for me.

msmargarita · 29/06/2017 22:33

Auriga, how very sad. I'm so sorry.

NoCureForLove · 29/06/2017 22:48

Oh Auriga. That is so sad. What horrible news at the end of a bittersweet day.

MrsKlugscheisser · 30/06/2017 00:17

Oh Auriga, how sad. I'm so sorry.

NUFC69 · 30/06/2017 06:33

Auriga, sorry to hear your sad news: I think when they get to that age you relax a little bit with them with regards to worrying, so it must be devastating.

MM, nice to see you back - the tennis sounds lovely. How is your DDiL? Mine gave birth to a bouncing baby boy a couple of weeks ago (I hope this isn't too sensitive to mention, Auriga).

And where is Hatty?
