Sorry to be so graphic but how on earth do people shave their privates?

Im 32 yrs old, have tried several times, but my pubes are so thick that it itches like crazy/bleeds gets so irratated and at times has been so uncomfortable I've not been able to go out.

Is there a knack I'm missing Confused? I've waxed a few times but mostly stick to using electric razors and shaving it really short. It's just way too thick

Sorry for tmi just curious as it's not something you really discuss amongst friends over lunch Grin

If you shave the undercarriage, do you feel damp and sweaty - or was that just me when I've tried it

No, I've never felt damp and sweaty down there.

I just cannot see the point in shaving. Ever. At all. Why?

RTFT. You'll find plenty of reasons.

I get so sick of these threads being hijacked by women who don't like pubic hair removal. The OP didn't ask what we thought of hair removal, just recommendations on how.

Op's always hear the same shit:

'You like to remove your public hair, is your dp a pedophile? '

'Why do you want to look like a prepubescent girl?'

'You are clearly being influenced by the porn industry but you do not know it'

Women have the right to do what they want with their pubic hair. Full bush, trimmed bush or no bush. It is up to the individual to decide. There should be no judgement. If you don't approve of pubic hair removal then don't comment on threads like this. Start your own thread on a debate about it

Shaving is painful and ugly, no one would want to see my post shaving lady bits, shudder

I do home hot wax, VEET spa wax is easy and effective, I'm sure there will be YouTube tutorials, I've had mine done at the salon enough times to know the techniques that hurt the least!

I hope you're only speaking for yourself. I've never found shaving painful and I always look smooth down there.

Years of getting Brazilian waxes means I hardly have anything growing now - stopped getting monthly waxes (lycon wax for the ultimate pain free hot wax) because the therapists said it was a waste of money to pay for a wax with so little hair to remove

So I bought a Lumea - it's great. Just whizz round the underneath with an electric razor for any little stubborn stubbly bits that remain, and zap when I can remember. I remember being told by therapists that I wasn't particularly hairy to start with though (have to take their word for it - I have no idea how mine compared to other women's, as I don't see other women's!)

Apart from the odd stray and the fine downy hair on my knees, I don't have anything left on my legs either, thanks to years of waxing when I was younger

Would never wet shave my labia - electric razor only (with a mirror!) Although nothing compares to the silky smooth feeling of getting the whole undercarriage waxed (I always did knees to the chest rather than all fours)

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 12/06/2017 23:21

Knees... ouch. That's the worst part of waxing for me. I will happily chatter away as my 'high bikini' is ripped off but, knees... I'm always so happy when they're over and done with - and they're not hairy anyway, just fine blonde hairs. Blush

bananafish it's interesting to hear about all the different techniques and positioning. Mine is always 'lie on your side' rather than all fours or knees to chest. All comes off the same though, doesn't it.

This thread has made me think of my friend, he's in his sixties, has daughters my age and he said that he daughter was going to have her eyebrows waxed. He said he thought the process was that the beautician would smooth the wax on and g-e-n-t-l-y rub it off again. Bless. Grin

A Brazilian wax does mean your bum too. Beats the places which claim to offer Brazilian then the therapist faints when you take your knickers off.

OP, either Veet your bikini line and then use a trimmer on the rest or do a bit of research and get a (proper) Brazilian every 3 - 4 weeks.

bananafish81 · 13/06/2017 07:19

@Arealhumanbeing that's the thing I miss most about getting Brazilians - the lovely smooth feeling of absolutely everything waxed. I'm not brave / flexible enough to try and use an electric razor and shoot hot lasers at my perineum

Timmytoo · 13/06/2017 07:46

I use my DP's hair clipper first on a zero. This helps get rid of the "rug" ConfusedGrin. Then it's easy with a normally razor as the thick part has been removed already. Hair clippers work the best.
