Ugg Wilcox boots

Happy new year everyone!! As my Christmas present I have ordered a pair of these lovely boots but my friend who has them says they are a suede kind of leather. I really need them for muddy parks and dog walking so they need to be able to stand up to that. Does anyone have any and can tell me how robust they are?

Rudy and Scarlett I've had my black ones since the beginning of January and have worn them nearly every day. They do soften up especially across the top of the toes, a nice crease develops. The ankle also softens up a little. Basically anywhere your feet and ankles bends naturally when walking will crease a little. I haven't noticed the lining flattening though which I'm quite happy about. I would put up a photo but they are covered in mud from yesterdays walk.
I'm picking up my stout ones today but might return them because I can't justify having a second pair.

Wincher · 26/01/2017 14:04

Mine just arrived but they are a bit small! They say 6.5, european size 39, which should be fine, but my toes are pressing on the end so I'm going to need to exchange. Bother!

Anjelika · 26/01/2017 14:09

I'm going to go against the grain here as I ordered the black ones in a 5 and a 6 (I am a 38 or 39 depending on where I buy) and I didn't like them enough to keep. The size 5 were too tight but the 6 felt too big and they were a bit "gapey" at the top. I loved them from the side where you could see the buckles but not from the front - they just looked a bit too plain. I loved the fur lining as I feel the cold a lot but alas they have gone back.

busyboysmum · 26/01/2017 14:36

Mine are going back as like Anjelika I thought they were too plain. I have lots of Uggs and particularly love a biker boot style with lots of buckles I bought a couple of years ago that are shorter and black leather. Wish I could get another pair of those.

I'm keeping the converse style ones though for the Spring.

busyboysmum · 26/01/2017 14:38

These ones - I love them to bits but looking a bit scruffy now.

Anjelika I came on to say the same. I order the 7 and the 8 and I tried the 8 first. They were a little bit in the foot, but enormous round the top. I tried the 7 thinking the top might be smaller, but they were huge too (and my legs aren't exactly skinny).

I wanted to love them, as I love Uggs in general, but I know the flapping will drive me mad, so they are going back. 😢

Can I just say that my bank officially hates you guys! Just bought a brown pair..

I ordered the black ones in the main photo and have worn them for two days now.
BIG PROBLEM
They squeak like mad and it is driving me to distraction !
Walking around at work today was just embarrassing...has anyone else had an issue with Squeaky UGGS before ? Advice please !!

PersisFord · 26/01/2017 18:07

Mine are really squeaky too!!!

Received my stout ones today and I think I like them more than my black ones. I might use my black ones for walking around the muddy woods, the brown ones will be more for everyday normal stuff like shopping etc.

SwimmingMom neither of my boots squeak.

SlowSwimmingMom · 26/01/2017 18:14

PersisFord I'm glad I'm not the only one !
I never spend anything like this amount of money on myself (even at the £80 price), they were a genuine treat. I'm reluctant to wear them to work again.
I can't even fathom out where the squeaks are coming from !

BeastofCraggyIsland · 26/01/2017 18:16

Mine have arrived and the 6 fits well in the foot and I really like them but they're very wide at the top. If I push my shin to the front I have over an inch gap at the back. I'll try them with jeans but not sure if they're going to be keepers or not, dammit!

I've tried to get a photo, DP isn't here to help and it was a bit awkward trying to get a selfie of my foot!

I'm going to chance it and order some brown ones too - does anyone know the 10% discount code please?

dudsville · 26/01/2017 18:26

I ordered them but they are so heavy and stiff that I'm sending them back!

FriendofBill · 26/01/2017 18:30

They're growing on me...

They look lovely friend

I think the squeak is reducing. I am amazingly fortunate to just tune things like that out so I'm not sure. I'll inevitably wear them tomorrow so I'll check them out

I think it's SALE10? Its in the first or second page of this thread so double check.

Flucker · 26/01/2017 19:03

Mine arrived today and they are perfect! Thanks OP!

I'm a 6-7 depending on what I'm wearing. They're labelled as a 6.5 which is perfect :)

SlowSwimmingMom · 26/01/2017 19:07

Thanks all... having trouble ordering on their website - have we crashed it !
Will try again a bit later.
The photos look fabulous...mine are gorgeous too, just that darn squeak !

Lorelei76 · 26/01/2017 19:07

mine arrived today
thanks OP

they look like they will be perfect for withstanding long muddy walks - happy with what they look like for that, the other boots I had for those had a break in the heel a while ago (and they hadn't been through much and at least these Uggs are guaranteed).

got the extra 10% off too, many thanks OP, you've saved me some boring online shopping!

Lorelei76 · 26/01/2017 19:10

busy, sorry if i missed it but the picture you posted - where are those from? They will be a great replacement for my ankle boots when they go.

I live in boots and trainers so actually prefer to have another pair in the cupboard for when the current pair run out, so to speak.

PersisFord · 26/01/2017 20:18

I had another s&b thread about boots a while back that got some great recommendations on it for the non-ugg lovers. I'll try and link to it.

So pleased for people who do like them and remember quidco....

Is Ugg postage slow as a wet week? I ordered on Saturday and STILL not despatched.
