I keep reading this on here. Am currently debating cutting off my tedious bob as am so bored of it. But have also hit my late thirties and am feeling old and shit about myself already and don't want an 'ageing' haircut!

Have your hair however you want but do stop being sneery about mum cuts (whatever they may be), highlighted hair or, conversely, dark hair. I'm not even sure what a bob is Confused but I've probably got one!

hazeyjane · 22/12/2016 09:00

Here you go. Looks a bit pissed off though........

That is NOT a cute fluffy kitten.
That there is a feline serial killer!

thethoughtfox · 22/12/2016 09:03

I'm feeling the Claire from Modern Family style curled bob.

hazeyjane · 22/12/2016 09:14

OMG
YES

RufusTheSpartacusReindeer · 22/12/2016 09:24

I dont want to look soft and feminine

I think the tits give the game away in the feminine stakes to be fair...massive...i am like a ship in full sale

My hair is lovely and soft...when it doesnt have half a tonne of wax in it

I agree with other posters in the 80's short hair was very common, mine was down to my bum

And i will leave this example of femininity here

Hahaha at soft and feminine, you're a hoot cara.

Cocolepew · 22/12/2016 10:04

I look like this with long hair

😂😂😂
Once my hair gets passed my ears it resembles hulk hogans in texture and style. Not feminine.
Mary berry - I don't mean to sneer at other people's hair, just acknowledge how crap it looks on me and how crap it makes me feel/my hair look. Bobs suit some people, as does dark hair, highlights etc

I agree with Maryberry. Most of this thread has been friendly and fun but comments about mum cuts and post menopausal types are unnecessary and just as silly, I think as the ones about long hair being more feminine.
I mean come on, it must be 40 years since any hairstyle - long or short - merited the word 'edgy'. Most of us tag along after one tribe or other.

Carneddai · 22/12/2016 18:06

Okay, I did it!

Before & After. Think I want it shorter at the front.

Yay! I think it's lovely.

Carneddai · 22/12/2016 18:18

Thanks. Yeah, I love it!

OohNoDooEy · 22/12/2016 18:25

I like it, kinda like gwyneth Paltrow in the 90s but more modern

PickAChew · 22/12/2016 18:27

Nice one, carneddai 🤗

OhMrsQ · 22/12/2016 19:01

ooooh i love it

twolittleboysonetiredmum · 22/12/2016 19:15

Ta da! A hairdresser that listens! I love it. Cow flick but is going to be slightly tedious but no more so than blow drying a bob. I don't feel less feminine.
Can anyone recommend a good product for taming my cowslick which won't stick my fine hair down to my head?
Thanks for the chat about hair and listening to me moan on here, it's really helped.

Ohhh they are both lovely, looks great 👍
I use a fat wax stick, I think I got it from the mens bit in Boots.

PossumInAPearTree · 22/12/2016 19:33

Looks amazing. Love it.

PossumInAPearTree · 22/12/2016 19:34

Tigi wax sticks are meant to be good.

Cocolepew · 22/12/2016 19:39

something like this
I used to use a Toni and Guy one which I loved. Then they stopped making it, I didn't realise they did a mens one.

GoofyTheHero · 22/12/2016 19:48

Looks fab!
