Hello ladies - can I join please? I have been lurking but the L'Occitane advent calendar has tipped me over the edge! I haven't actually counted my stash, it's all very run of the mill stuff, shower gels and soaps, oils and moisturisers etc but I end up with loads open at a time and never seem to finish anything... I must focus Grin and this seems to be a good place to start.

FrustratedFrugal · 09/01/2017 12:37

Welcome Pepperrabbit! No need to be glamorous - as you can see, we have lots of run of the mill stuff and a B+H bonanza at Christmas Wink

Yuk Kwick that deo - I am also using up a deo that I don't like, an Italian make, Infasil for sensitive skin. It's not an antiperspirant and it wouldn't cut the mustard during the warm season so I am using it now and sneakily adding a bit of regular deodorant to block my sweat ducts.

Totally bored with Max Factor Chilli but persisting - darker red lips work really well with my coat and gray sweaters. (Feeling restless - want to experiment with my other dark lipsticks...) Technically, MF lippies are superb, I am touching up after lunch only because I want this to be gone - but my lips look flawless. Awesome lasting power and so comfy to wear! But perfection is boring...

ememem84 · 09/01/2017 13:04

Two empties

Tresseme shampoo and conditioner. The red keratin one.

Will replace but have a litre and a half of tigi s factor shampoo and conditioner to work through.

kwick · 09/01/2017 13:59

Welcome pepper!!!

Well done eme!

Hello Ladies, may I join, too? I have an embarrassing stash of products to use up. Hopefully this week will see the end of a Balance Me toning body cream . Good for moisturising but not sure about the toning bit, unfortunately. And, of course, I've got another waiting in the stash!!

DragonNoodleCake · 09/01/2017 22:41

Hi pepper and Alfa! Welcome.

Ladies, I have done no stash sorting or using at all - too busy exercising! I have 4st to shift this year and I'm feeling motivated. I went to my Jazz dance class tonight and our teacher has done a course on 'pound' so she did the class with us to try it out. OMG it's awesome, I'm going to hurt tomorrow

I wore my 24 tattoo and Avon matte ravishing rose to the class tho! So glam and they didn't melt off! Haha I might have to see what they can last through....maybe a run tomorrow?

kwick · 10/01/2017 06:49

Welcome Alfa!!!

Good on you dragon!!

I have two empties from my list for February:

  • Lactovit 600ml shower gel - love this stuff, I smuggle it in from Spain
  • Lactovit in-shower moisturiser- ok but not as good as Nivea
Have already replaced both from stash!

dogdaydisaster · 10/01/2017 09:02

kwik, I'm dying to try some in shower moisturiser but I have so much body lotion to get through!

Alfa and pepper, welcome!

Two empties -the last one from my Christmas list -the smashbox eye primer. this lasts forever! However it really helps keep eyeshadow in place; when I take it off at night it's pretty much as it was in the morning. I have another in the wings, but am using a lorac one first, which on forst impressions doesn't ahvequite the same staying power.

Also finished a garnier micellar water - nothing special but its gone now and I have a lovely bioderma to use next.

Have a good Tuesday everyone.

FiveShelties · 10/01/2017 10:08

Welcome pepper and Alfa

Well done everyone on the 'used up'. I have an M & S Butterfly Body Spray gone - lotion finished a few days ago but still have the perfume. I still have the odd body spray lurking so no need to purchase anymore. Off into town today and am not buying anything except food.Smile

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 10/01/2017 13:18

Welcome all.
I've finished a bougois concealer but after so many good finishes I am at a bit of a standstill really. Just seem to have so much of the slow to use stuff! Also now tempted by smash box primer dogday which is not point at all!
Hand cream must be next to reduce. I think it is breeding in my house!

FrustratedFrugal · 10/01/2017 16:33

PinkiePie I am experiencing a slow period right now as well.

One small positive thing: I finished a batch of home-mixed taupe
brow color (brown eye shadow + very pale mineral concealer). It was the perfect color for me, I should make a new batch.

kwick · 10/01/2017 18:03

Amazeballs progress ladies!!!

you make your own eyeshadows????

I have finished nothing because I am poorly and my poor Rudolph nose can't handle any creams... I suppose I have finished several boxes of tissues!
Very keen to hear how you get on with the double cleanser dogday as I don't have much of a stash in the cleanser department... I've just bought a new Elemis wash for the mornings but prefer something a bit different in the evenings.

Needastrongone · 10/01/2017 20:28

Evening! Might I join?

I have so many products to use up, following Christmas, advent calendars and a general push to look after myself more in 2016. I have nothing empty to declare at present, but I'm so glad I've done the 'advent calendar' and Birchbox route. I've been introduced to some many items that I love, and some I won't repurchase. The things I will replace -

Soap and Glory - Heel genius, fab product, less than £6.
Liquid Gold - From the M&S calendar, amazing.
Emma Hardy cleansing balm.
Nuxe oil and most of their range tbf Grin
Sanctuary bold balms, cheap and lovely.
Pixie eyebrow gel.

I won't replace.

Body shop hemp lip balm.
Sanctuary hand cream.
Neals Yard hand cream (good but not good enough).
Burts Bees lip balm - didn't like the tingly lips.
Sanctuary daily exfoliator, not effective enough.

Only need really to buy shampoo, and essentials for at least 6 months I reckon is I stay strong. Smile

CantChoose · 10/01/2017 20:44

Welcome need
I also love soap and glory heel genius. I'm extremely sad mine has run out. Although I know I should use up my hand cream stash as foot cream nothing quite compares and I'm sorely tempted to get another.
I have to disagree about the pixi brow gel though. I just don't 'get' it. Maybe I'm using it wrong :/
Haven't used the liquid gold yet, looking forward to it though as I've heard all good things!

Needastrongone · 10/01/2017 20:56

Thank you kwick.

Waves back at Em Smile

Can't. I actually bought a half price gift set in Boots last week, as it had Heel Genius in it, plus at least 3 other products I will use. It was £9, I think the product would retail at over £25 in total. I will gift the things I don't use.

The M&S sleep balm is lovely too.

Anything you really loved and will buy again? My personal jury is out on Wonderbalm.

Needastrongone · 10/01/2017 21:20

DD has just suggested that I DON'T use the tinted moisturiser that was the Christmas Eve special gift in the Sanctuary advent calendar, unless I want to look like Donald Trump....

She's just tried hers....Grin

MrsDilligaf · 10/01/2017 23:12

Ha ha...been catching up with the thread and spotted the HUGE advert below ⬇⬇⬇ was for 50% off at the Body Shop.

I.
Must.
Not.
Click.

Binned a mascara today. Estee Lauder one which was distinctly underwhelming and I'm glad to see the back of it.

I'm using another one of theirs at the moment which is great - Double Wear - I might repurchase but I might also try a GOSH one. Anyone got any tips?

DragonNoodleCake · 10/01/2017 23:30

Mrs I've tried so many mascaras and I always come back to Lancôme hypnose. Based on my pictures of eye make alone this convinces me I am right to. I have very blond lashes and with hypnose you'd never know!

MrsDilligaf · 11/01/2017 09:30

@Dragon - I know what you mean. I keep going back to Clinique High Impact Mascara, I just want to find one that is about half the price!

I have tried Lancome Mascara before - it is very lovely I can totally see why you like it!

dogdaydisaster · 11/01/2017 10:19

Morning all and welcome need.

I finished a little cleanser sample last night -the forea day cleanser that came in my Look Fantastic calendar with a little electric face cleansing thingy (whch I have given to dd). It was a nice enough cream cleanser.

Pinkie its the primer in the silver tube. Great stuff.

I'll be sure to report back on the Pixi/CH cleanser when it arrives.

Have a nice day all.

WellTidy · 11/01/2017 10:37

I've fallen off the wagon, ladies. Badly.

I've bought:

Emporio Armani She EDP plus shower gel and body lotion
Estee Lauder Pleasures EDP plus body lotion
Vera Wang (the original one) EDP (a massive one - 100 ml, as it is my favourite perfume of all time and was reduced to £29 or so, which makes me think that it is being discontinued)
Benefit blusher set of five blushers plus mascara and eyeliner (I don't even use eyeliner, never have Confused)
Benefit They're Real mascara (this was a replacement for my Estee Lauder one that had dried out)
Estee Lauder lip pencil in Rose (this does go with two of my lipsticks though, so not a bad buy)
Rose Jam shower gel from Lush (I am ignoring that I had two lush shower gels for Christmas, as this was half price in the sale)
Shower gel, body exfoliator, hand cream plus three reed diffusers from Rituals
Lots of miniature shower gels and hand creams from Body Shop
Aquaphor lip cream - an investment, so that I can wear my darker lipsticks without my lips looking like they're crumbling away

Christ. I barely bought anything last year and ploughed my way through so much of my stash. I found it hard going at times, but towards the end of the year, I really enjoyed truing so many different things and felt that I had made good progress. I also felt more on top of things generally. So now I am starting again!

I have finished:

Nuxe body oil - loved this
Island Sun (or something that sounds like that) EDT from M&S beauty box - very nice but no need to buy perfume for years (see above)
Elemis night cream - loved this. May well re-purchase as I don't have a night cream
Estee Lauder Daywear moisturiser - an everyday staple for me, so I have one in my stash
Estee Lauder ANR eye cream - loved this, have a replacement in my stash

I've loved looking at your photos of made up lips and eyes, and am enjoying the chat.

pepperrabbit · 11/01/2017 11:37

I am very jealous of your shopping!
I have very very nearly finished my No7 Lift and Luminate serum and already have another in my stash, unfortunately I've just started the Lift and Luminate day cream after finishing the Protect & Perfect one and it's really heavy and thick. I'm not sure about it at all. I've also got a Liz Earle one which is a little lighter. Mainly though I'm enjoying my L'Occitane comforting facial oil for night. Or the Nuxe one....
See! I'm rubbish at focusing!
