I love Christalle but I wear it on special occasions.

I have just tried Portrait of a Lady. I thought it was disgusting. I think even though I love the smell of old roses in the garden, I don't like rose perfume and I don't like patchouli. It smells overpoweringly sweet with a horrible sour edge to it. Yuk.

I am quite a classic chypre person. I get a bit frustrated that a lot of my favourite perfumes are now not noticeable by me - but I think they are probably still there, I am just immune to them.

Miss Dior (originale) seems to last quite well, and Mitsouko. The perfume that lasts brilliantly, but not a pulling perfume (unless you want to get a load of lapsed catholics) is Commes des Garcons Incense d'avignon. It is pure catholic church. I love it.

Hello! Thank you for your recommendations! I just wanted a strong perfume because I want to spray it once in the morning and not have to reapply and just hope it has staying power. Not to annoy people in an office or to cause people with allergies to be worse, simply because I just want it to be worth the money I spend and to last.

I've had a smell of a few today and I love love love Poeme, Alien and Paloma Picasso so will more than likely get one of those.

Versace crystal noir is super strong it stays on my clothes after I've washed them. When I wear it my cats & my dc smell of it for days after cuddles!

Ysl Elle is also strong people always ask what perfume I'm wearing when i wear that one

Actually 20 years. It came out when I was 18! And I'm now 38, it's even nicer when it's been on for a few hours.

Foxyspook - I wear Comme de Garcons Incense d'avignon ... I don't know anyone else that wears it!

It's intense though and beautiful. My DH wears it too (when i'm not wearing it) x

I've worn Alien since it was launched - every time I wear it I'm always asked what it is!

I've just ordered a sample of Alien, all these rave reviews have got me intrigued!

Dolce Vita by Dior

The strongest perfume I've ever had is Lolita Lempicka - it's lovely, kind of sweet in the same foody way as Angel, but with a musky floral smell too. It's my big night out perfume and always gets complimented.

thingsthatgo oh Lolita is also gorgeous! It's huge in France but pretty unusual here, the main note in it is Liquorice and yes it's very unique and sexy and long lasting.

Obsession, last longer.

Elixir by Penhaligons is very powerful and very unusual. One of the online reviews says "it's like being seduced in a church" - it's very reminiscent of incense. Not everyone's cup of tea, but l love it. lt's lovely on men, too.

Cinnabar by Estee Lauder - I usually reserve for night but might suit some for daytime. Quite strong and very long-lasting and am always asked by men and women what it is I'm wearing.
