Any suggestions? Open to all types, just want it to last all day and smell beautiful.

La Vie est Belle is pretty strong as well.

Agree about Poeme and Magie Noir. In fact, Lancome all seem to last well.

Jaxhog · 15/11/2016 17:43

Why? Oh why? There is nothing worse than sitting next to someone who has poured on the perfume. I have mild asthma, and it is sheer torture to be within 100 yards of someone wearing 'strong' perfume. Even Chanel no 5 (one of my favourites) is overpowering if applied too liberally. No-one needs to use really strong perfume unless they have an odour problem. Please keep it subtle!

Notonaschoolnight · 15/11/2016 17:45

Ormonde Jayne - Ormonde Woman

Wolpertinger · 15/11/2016 17:50

While I like a lot of these, please please not in a work environment!

I would notice you, probably because I'd have to go and use my asthma inhaler repeatedly. Or a migraine tablet.

I love fragrance, have my own massive collection but am also very very sensitive to a lot of it. Massive sillage is not workplace friendly or professional.

bibbitybobbityyhat · 15/11/2016 17:52

Paloma Picasso - gorgeous! I am wearing it right now and I smell bloody lovely.

HappyAxolotl · 15/11/2016 17:53

Poison, Opium, Spicebomb, Cinnabar, Youth Dew, Tribe are some of my faves.

SooBee61 · 15/11/2016 17:57

Amarige by Givenchy. 'Grab you by the throat' perfume from the 1980s. I loathe it but if you want a strong one.......... Another one in that vein is Dior Poison.

SooBee61 · 15/11/2016 17:58

Also, please have some consideration for your fellow workers (if you work that is). Woman I worked with used to wear heavy scent and I'd go home with a bad headache. And it's very difficult to say anything without causing offence. It was Organza by Givenchy as I recall.

AbernathysFringe · 15/11/2016 18:02

Samsara by Guerlain (dark and warm, reminds me of cherry coke for some reason)
Black Cashmere by Donna Karan (have to buy online as stopped making it. very eveningy, dark and spicy)

Galdos · 15/11/2016 19:53

Napalm, but only in the morning ...

Otherwise I used to have a weakness for 'White Linen', but regular swimming cured me of any interest in perfume.

upaladderagain · 15/11/2016 20:45

Eau de Soir by Sisley. A complete knockout, very grown-up and glam and lasts for DAYS.

Badders123 · 15/11/2016 20:49

obsession
Opium
Cinnabar
Knowing
Youth dew

Herhighness · 15/11/2016 20:51

I've worn Estee Lauders Youth Dew and Elizabeth Taylor's White Diamonds on alternate days for years. They are both very strong.

littlemissneela · 15/11/2016 20:54

Two that come to mind are YSL Opium and Coco Channel. Both strong in a very good way, esp Coco Wink

pipsqueak25 · 15/11/2016 21:07

poison since god knows when - love it !

Melfish · 15/11/2016 21:17

A friend wore Obsession, it is lovely but you could smell her coming round the corner. Found a perfume the other day at my mother's called Cassini by Oleg Cassini- very strong in an 80s way!

MrsCocoa · 15/11/2016 21:45

Enjoying the staying power of a couple of :L'Artisans right now: Seville a L'Aube (orange blossom, bees wax, lavender, balsam) and Tea for Two (smoky tea, honey, cinnamon, tobacco).

Other random likes with oomph - Serge Lutens: Ambre Sultan, JHaG: Moon Dance, Agent Provacteur: L'Agent, Lush: All Good Things and Sikkim Girls, 4160 Tuesdays: Paris 1948.

The Mary Greenwell's that are being flogged of by The Fragrance Shop are fantastic - try Fire, or if you like Poison, Plum.

perfumedlife · 15/11/2016 21:56

Another vote for Eau de Soir, gorgeous scent with such longevity. Their new sister scent Soir de O'rient cost me a fortune and faded immediately.

Dowser · 15/11/2016 21:57

I still have a soft spot for youth dew. Haven't bought any for decades.
I try to like angel. I just don't.
I like Hermes ones. My favourite is orange verte but yes to 24 fauberg.
I can't think of the one I have presently...a little goes a long way...especially at £80 a bottle.

Dowser · 15/11/2016 21:59

Caleche

That's it.

BaconAndAvocado · 15/11/2016 22:13

Angel is gorgeous and strong.

Ditto Alien and La Vie Est Belle. Always get comments when I wear either of those.

Poeme!.......that's brought back memories. A lovely strong perfume.

MountainDweller · 15/11/2016 22:25

Jo Loves (by Jo Malone) Red Truffle is potent and unusual. I love the Tom Ford Black Orchid but to me it's definitely an evening perfume.

TrickyD · 15/11/2016 23:02

Alien
Knowing
Poison
Coco
Paloma Picasso
And Chanel 19, not 5.

Alleycat1 · 15/11/2016 23:09

I agree with a couple of other posters that Hermes perfumes (Caleche in particular) are real stayers. Also Femme by Rochas and Rive Gauche by Yves St Laurent. Youth Dew is the stayer to end all others, so much so that I am sick of it despite never having actually worn it myself.

Slightly off post. Has anyone else noticed that as they are getting older they can 'taste' the perfume they are wearing? I can no longer spray behind my ears, neck etc. for this reason.

musicmum75 · 15/11/2016 23:10

Guerlain Le Petite Robe Noir has a lovely black cherry smell and lasts a very long time

4160Tuesdays Midnight in the Palace Garden is ridiculously strong and heavy. I had to give my sample away as it was too much for me and gave my whole family a headache. After dry cleaning the top I had on when I sampled it I could still smell it!
