Crem, I am sure another pussikins will arrive in your life. We have three of the buggers who did so, plus the one that moved away with the neighbours. All foisted upon us, the furry bastard sweethearts.

Cocoa, I do feel for you.

MrsSchadenfreude · 16/11/2016 20:17

Have not caught up with y'all yet.

Get another gentle puss, Crem. I love mine so much, he is such a needy boy, and I am definitely his "human".

BTM Flowers and Wine and Cake and Brew for you. And for Rose.

I am in the city where I was really happy. I have had cocktails, wine and dinner with an old friend. I am now on my own in a large hotel room eating chocolate. I always feel like crying when I come back here because I have such happy memories of the place. I have a policy of never going back, but I think I could be happy here again. It is 10 years since we left... maybe the glasses are rose tinted?

motherinferior · 16/11/2016 20:26

MrsS, check it out. I think it's the city where I found out I was up the duff.Grin

Crepeys, a sort of S&Bq. Lovely SIL's Christmas present - also she has her birthday on Christmas Eve - DSis says she likes scented candles. So do I. My present budget is £20 or thereabouts. Should I do what I usually don't, and get her a mini one but Diptyque?

Blackduck · 16/11/2016 20:31

I have lost the check in list but heeding Stropps plea (why - as in why me, but I want to see Stropps - bed still available) and having checked with dp who is on dog training, I will be there.....

Blackduck · 16/11/2016 20:35

Sorry want to see everyone else too!!!

Lalsy · 16/11/2016 20:43

Herbs, it is really hard with freelance/contract type work to get the right amount at the right time, I think. But I reckon your tactic is good - scatter gun, then you can focus in. Would going to a tutoring agency be a terrible idea, to start you off?

I like going to Ikea as light relief from cords shopping.Grin

Crem, glad you have some time off. And MI is right I am sure.......

Evening All
I've MIA as completely consumed with fundraising diner last night - which was enormous hard work but great success - I'll tell you about it at the MU.

Looking fwd to seeing all Crepes who can make it. Can offer ds1's bed for the night to anyone who needs it - if that helps encourage you all to the bright lights of London?

I've thrown myself at the best paid agency round here, which does the planning for you (!!!!) and they have no vacancies. However, there are a gazillion websites and other options.

Re cats. I hate mine. He just knocked over my G&T with the last of the good tonic in.

Stropperella · 16/11/2016 21:17

Yay, BD Grin - it is because I luffs you Grin. And we crepeys must stick together in dark times.

Cocoa, all the best for tomorrow.

NU, are your red squirrels a pair? Will you have lots of gorgeous little baby red squirrels in your garden in the spring?

Herbs, I think the scatter gun approach is definitely the best one at this juncture. I am mightily depressed on your behalf re: the teaching pay.

Crem, well done to your dad. Sorry to hear about noisy night-time animals. Enjoy your well-deserved week off.

I'm doing a module on a Professional Master's Programme (can't afford the time or money to do the whole programme) which will, I hope, get me qualified as an assessor for SpLD. Which will improve my employment prospects. I will have to commute to Bath once a week, which will be a literal pain in the bum (due to extruded disc issue - ugh - am hoping everything will get no worse than it is now). I have decided to try and do my case studies in a local state school, rather than the school where I teach, so am currently tapping up my contacts in ds's school and various other local educational establishments. The workload combined with commuting and teaching will be a bit awful, but it is only for a few months.

Because I am a rebel, I have opened all my advent calendar doors already. And am wearing my new pyjamas with reindeer on them. Because November is a bit dreary and I need a boost. So ner.

Stropperella · 16/11/2016 21:18

Well done on fund-raising dinner success, GGG.

Commiserations re: G&T, Herbs. Thoughtless old puddy-tat.

motherinferior · 16/11/2016 21:22

Candle advice, anyone?

I am still waiting to hear if I've got a chunk of editing work which was supposed to be in 'by the end of November' Shock

Cremolafoam · 16/11/2016 21:31

If it was me MI, I'd go for the Dyptique (sp.)mini. A tiny bit of luxe is so naice.

Cremolafoam · 16/11/2016 21:35

Squeee! Baby squirrels have elfy faces

Zara Home candles are super lovely, only £19.99, so within budget.... I love them.

Ds bombed out Spanish oral again today, so really evaluating what we do re: impending Gsce's.

He's seems ok at the moment but suspect he's just 'learnt the act'...

I might take a bed from someone on the 26th, if that's ok?

That's great news BD and BeachyWineSmile

Well yesterday did get worse and I had my own bin-jumping moment. Well I didn't actually jump on a bin but did let it all out. Didn't sleep at all well, but I am going to try to be more positive today. Things have got to be at least a bit better than yesterday, surely?
