MI I understand there is now a chocolate version of Baileys....

MrsS your work colleagues won't thank you.. stay in bed, woman.

cocoa have to admit to being rather glued to that Anthropologie site...what lovely clobber.

Although I felt I had a deprived childhood, when I read all the Xmas present buying woes, I must admit to feeling a bit smug at being able to dip in and out of it...

Blood tests today...then writing with ConS for the afternoon. And tonight... Sons of Pitches yay !

Oil I love those acaoella boys rose. Lovely.

Cocoa - we seem to have identical bodies. The only thing going for me is the remains of a waist. Which if not emphasised makes me look gigantic.

These diy advent calendars you're talking about. What fresh hell is this? Does this mean I have to make one for DS or he'll be deprived? Won't a big standard Star Wars one do any more?

My dd's advent calendar tradition is to share a totally old school papery one that granny gives them. Somehow, they've always given this reasonably long shrift, however, this year, out comes my 'wrinkles and shit' M&S big boy, so the cat will verily be among the giftless kinder's chickens.

Crem - love Astley/Kerr/postman comments.

Lalsy - I was GLUED to your uni accom info. Don't knock it!

Beachy - how was the postwar tank talk? I would have looked forward to that. I found the blue and yellow scandi shop a little meh on the Christmas front, but then I was actively trying to avoid distraction.

Table is put together. Office needs overhaul and I will post pic when I'm up and running.... or standing. The anti-fatigue mat is a gel thing to stand on to make it good for feet/hips.

I'm off to Anthropologie site, then back to work.

My dc were furious when I suggested a classy or DIY advent character rather than 1.99 Tesco Dr Who or similar. You'd have thought I had suggested naked family sauna-ing.

Crepeys on FB who would like to "meet" Cocoa - she is my newest friend, has a pretty name and a black background.

WAF and BTM, please rely on me for excessive factual detail whenever the need arises........Grin

Off to google anti-fatigue mats and drool over Anthropologie. There is one in Richmond now......

Morning Crepies - the thread has gone so fast since yesterday. I will look for Cocoa on FB.

Mrs S - I do hope you're not at work. I'm another who would never dare go out with the squits.

Quite exciting French primaries yesterday. Usually three men and a dog vote for these things. Astonishingly there was a huge queue at the Mairie and there has been a massive mobilisation. I think people have been galvanised into action by Trump and the thought of Marine le Pen here.

I actually think Rick Astley has aged quite well.

And I've just done so too.Grin

I have done four (4, iv) interviews back to back this morning and am heading in to town to see about my well-paid editing gig. I must also decide what to cook tonight.

Apparently there is a Lidl choc Baileys. Thus freeing up cash for choc vodka and choc beer. I'm on a roll...a chocolate roulade, perhaps?

We woke to rain this morning which fell on frost, so black ice everywhere which wouldn't have worried me but for the fact that DH had to take his car in for its MOT and I had to go to collect him: I had an interesting "excursion" on to the road when I drove out of our cul de sac. My window cleaner has been and he tells me that the refuse truck also had a detour and ended up demolishing a neighbour's wall.

Anthropologie site sounds interesting; I will have a look when I come back after my manicure this afternoon.

I am feeling very righteous as I have sorted out my cookery books, washed random bits sitting on windowsills in the kitchen and utility room and prompted DH to wash the floors.

I love Anthropologie, but am feeling a bit skint at the moment. DH and I have decided on minimal Christmas presents for each other as times is hard chez nous. However, perhaps I could find something not too £££ for him to buy Smile

Advent calendars - we have a God one Shock as well as a chocolate one. I missed out on the M and S one this year but am contemplating a gin one for the office.

Cocoa, I have looked for you on FB but can't see a new friend of Lalsy's with a pretty name and a black background. Clearly I am being thick. Could you find me instead please? My initials are the same as the highest military honour and I am at the hairdressers with foils in my hair. Thanks

DD wobbly again this morning and so I had a bracing walk to school with her and back through D Park. I then put my lardy frame through a HIIT session in the back garden. Have done some work and now about to do a bit of cooking.

In S and B news, I have bought a new coat. It is very warm and allegedly waterproof but looks a bit shapeless on. But I walk a lot and would be warm and dry. Thoughts? Herbs, you have a coat or two I think. What do you recommend? Link is here

Re: advent calendars - as a child I had the same three advent calendars, brought out each year in rotation, with the doors neatly re-sealed with a sliver of sellotape. They were vair posh ones, though, with tabs you could pull to make Santa and his elves / M&J and the donkey dance about.

We had the same one solitary advent calendar wheeled out each year, with merely opening doors. No fancy pants dancing donkeys for us. We'd take it in turns to open the door - so. Once every three days. This was oddly exciting. Especially once I realised how to fix it so I got to open the Christmas Eve one...

Thank you so much Crepeys for your kind attention on FB. I look forward to more musings anon.

I don't frequent Anthroplogie very often, but in my impending middle age, it seems to appeal to me more and more.

Yes, Herbs - we sound tres alike.

Right. Off to walk dogs in small break in the rain. My procrastination must end. NOW.

Oh, managed a chat with DS in QT over Whatsapp.

"Yup. Its fine.... yeah, great. Ummmm. Nothing more I can add, really...."

IS THAT IT????? You've flown to the other side of the world to ride the most amazing trails, and you're speaking to me like I'm some... some.... annoying little pest???

Hmm. I'm going to give up 'missing' him for a bit, and enjoy not having to food shop daily. Or wash his stinky socks. (It won't last)

Right. I. Am. Off.

We have one of those wooden advent calendars with drawers containing a wooden thing to hang up. We used to add smarties to the drawers for extra excitement but for the last few years everyone's rather lost interest and I end up opening several days at once to catch up to where we should be. It takes up a lot of space so I've been wondering whether to bother with it this year - but that feels a too much like a bah humbug response so I expect we will get it out, but possibly not by 1st Dec.

£1.99 choc calendars will have been posted though - absence of those would be noticed.

Dont remember having an advent calendar tbh. But have fond memories of being taken to see Santa at s posh department store and there were moving tableaux as you queued. ( wearing black patent shoes iirc)
Twas magical.
Herbs does DS still believe ?

Had desperate message from dd this morning about a chest infection. Dic says she has to come off her mood meds ( which have disastrous withdrawal) while she takes the amoxicillin. I have sent her to the pharmacist to give her the skinny on contraindications. Poor love is freaking out. Bloody nightmareSad
Meanwhile I am in the yellow and blue place.getting coffee and a new bin for the bathroom. Living the Dream.Hmm

BTM, don't know if this will work for you but I used to suffer terribly with insomnia but recently it's got a whole lot better. I read somewhere that vitamin d supplements could help and coincidentally my improved sleeping corresponds with starting vitamin d which was prescribed for other reasons. Given it's available over the counter it might be worth a try.
